kellyzaf: The topic was about marketers breaking the subsidy regime and you digressed to question who is in charged of the petroleum as if you don't know that as a minister or president, many people will override on your authority and if you enforce too much, you're labeled a tyrant... You should first and foremost understand the thread before you ask questions that isn't relating... |

I could remember when there was scarcity during GEJ time, in Ilorin, whenever a Tanker leaves depot, the Gas Station the Tanker is headed would be announced in radio stations, so you can't hoard or divert the product. Also depot gave priority to marketers that don't cut corners. It's too bad to go to Minna yesterday and Gas Stations having fuel, but come to the FCT, wahala. Even fuel stations in Suleja are selling. |

Penguin2:Thank God some people still remember the lies, n betrayal Tinubu, Buhari, Wole Soyinka, n others perpetrated on Nigerians, because of their quest for power in 2012. They thot they where, doing it to Spite Jonathan, now Nigerians ve seen that they whole thing was just about getting power, even if it was detrimental to the Country, they said then that subsidy was a scam, pls who is bn scammed by who now? 1 Like |

Kobonaire234:And after subsidy has been removed from diesel and kerosene, what has been the result years down the line? Both commodities are very costly, actually the highest priced in West and Central Africa with attendant effect on our manufacturing and services sector. Not only that, adulterated diesel and kerosene is now a norm. That's a worse form of stealing than subsidy because do many industry machines have been affected by adulterated diesel while our aviation sector is now struggling to survive. So much for your feeding bottle economics 2 Likes 1 Share |

Kobonaire234:Oga, let's build the refineries first! There is no way that a sensible country will sell it's raw material to a country that doesn't have it, and then afterwards but the finished product. That is stupidity made in Nigeria. Petroleum products are bound to be expensive so long as this curiously strange behaviour continues. |

Kobonaire234:At least we should build the refineries first and wait if it will fail or not. Importing refined petroleum products is the height of stupidity. I'm not against subsidy removal, but I'm against importing petrol for local consumption. It affects a lot of things. |

ADAMUdaCOWBOY: Another thing the money needed for new refineries is being used for paying subsidy. Remove subsidy and there would be enough profit and incentive for new refineries 1 Like |
Re: Oil Marketers Abandon Scheme To Break Subsidy Regime by Nobody: 10:57am On Dec 11, 2022 |
DeOTR: Well how do we pay for the new refineries? When nnpc is not making enough profit selling petrol it brings in at 510 naira as at November at lesa than 200 naira to depot? Dangote refinery will collapse if the above happens too. |
Re: Oil Marketers Abandon Scheme To Break Subsidy Regime by DeOTR: 11:00am On Dec 11, 2022 |
ADAMUdaCOWBOY:God bless you. I don't know how a sensible individual would be against fuel subsidy and self-reliance on locally refined petroleum products at the same time. Abi e get wetin I no dey understand about this thing? Remove subsidy and importing petrol in this Nigeria I know, the price will reach #2000 in six months. |
Re: Oil Marketers Abandon Scheme To Break Subsidy Regime by Npfn: 11:00am On Dec 11, 2022 |
Let me remind you that we the consumer buy 300 why depot sell 210 and above we should never stop subsidy instead we should work on making sure that those selling 210 are arrested and prosecuted you don't need to convince Nigerians that subsidy is bad how can you pay subsidy and fuel is sold 300 and you have mind to tell people to remove subsidy only people that is working for the government that will say what you saying the common man has been deceived and kept suffering and you paid to defend them Kobonaire234: |

Npfn: Oga, when you import something at 510 naira and sell it at 180 naira , where do you think the money to pay the difference ie subsidy comes from? Is it not from the masses money? Is it not the poor that would suffer the resulting deficit and debt? Okay o. I don talk 1 Like |

Kobonaire234:The government should hands off from regulating the sector. The market is there and I believe many businesses would want to invest. It doesn't have to be the government. The government knows what to do to attract investors if they so wish. |

I was at Oando yesterday no queue, when I saw that it was selling at 230, I just go nnpc Jeje I joined the small queue with just 3 vehicles behind me and I filled my vehicle within 15mins at 169 per litre, but nnpc is not selling into kegs, unless it's in your car, then you have to tip. So it was very easy, the thing now is that I hope the the price of public transportation go come down, because once the price go up bayi to come down to hard 1 Like |

Kobonaire234:Who said so? The government has no business building any refineries, they are rogues. Private individuals - Dangote, Otedola etc should be encouraged and allowed to do so while government through its agencies regulates them. Period! |
