Hello Sir and Ma...

Shey Someone who is willing to facilitate relocation will not support in the pre-ITA process? And i don't wanna ask. It appears he is only providing POF.

My head is full of these thoughts after paying WES fees yesterday.

Pls I want sincere inputs, especially from people in Manitoba to guide my decision either to continue the process or not

".....It appears he is only providing POF" smh. Your statement shows how you like to be spoonfed. You even want us to give you advice after all someone has given you POF. When you get there and things are difficult at the initial stage, you'll look for who to blame.
Maybe you'll expect your uncle to connect you with work undecided

Please sir - own your story. Take responsibility and limit the expectations you have. If naija with the mortgage you have is good enough for you, please continue with it. Thank you

Hey,
sorry just seeing this.
I got a provincial nomination from Alberta towards the end of last year, been in the pool for quite a while with 425points.
So yeah, I'm one of the positive ones.
Do your research and get in the pool. Even with less than 400 points, you can get an ITA
All the best!
hello, sorry my comment doesn't answer your question. but please, could you share a bit on how you got your ITA?

To those who have spoken including this very moniker I am quoting, I understand your concerns. You all have spoken well including a fellow who called me immature and feeling entitled. Spoonfed? That was harsh! Anyways, that's not me. My kind of person is far from that. I came here to seek advice on what's on ground for me cos' I believe folks here may have at a time been in my situation.

We all have individual career plans we are working towards. Yeah, I may not be so comfortable with my present pay but I am looking at future in my job. Abroad Missions (AU and UN) that will come at a point. In fact, AU came in the first quarter of this year but for my French Language Proficiency, I couldn't go. I have recently enrolled at a French Class so as to catch up next time. Other opportunities will crop up as one moves up the ladder.

Mortgage? Aside 10% equity I paid cash, deduction is tied to my salary (at source) Default on the agreement may lead to foreclosure

Financing pre-ITA (which I already started with WES payment)? The money may be used buy lands in remote but fast developing areas. That's been my plan. I no follow my course mates who are buying popular Toyota Cars.

Those are the things that are kinda holding me. No be say I no dey grateful to the opportunity I see.

Well, I appreciate your inputs. I am taking up the responsibility like i've always done and will be coming here for further guides in this journey.

It's PPR time!!!! I am grateful for the valuable resource and advice I got from Nairaland. There's so much wealth of information here. @Graciouswords, thank you so much for your valuable input both here and on the TEF thread. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have known that it was possible to make adjustments (to reduce my points) that will enable me to receive a nomination from OINP (since my points was far above what they were picking at the time) Here is my timeline

NOI - 28th April 2022
Submitted - 11th May 2022
Assessment - 12 Aug. 2022
DIP - 9th Sept. 2022
Nomination - 4th Oct. 2022
ITA- 12th Oct. 2022
AOR - 20th Oct. 2022
PR approval - 5 Dec. 2022

Now I need advice. My family is currently waiting for our PR cards in a different province where hubby is schooling. We plan to move to Ontario next year in October when hubby completes his school. Will this cause an issue? Do we need to move to Ontario as soon as we receive our PR card? Is there an option to do "soft landing" in Ontario and move there later when we are ready? Your valuable input will be very much appreciated.

Hello,

Please what is the current average processing time from application submission to PPR? Someone said about 4months and I couldn’t believe it.
Some people are even getting ppr in a month or two. I’ve seen many cases. Majority are getting in three months. The backlog has drastically reduced for express entry. It’s less than 50k applications now. As at 2021, it was almost 150k or more.

On the other hand, I viewed you as conflicted. You aren’t sold on leaving for Canada when you can see opportunities in Nigeria. Everyone’s story is not Canada, yours may be in an AU country someday. You sound thoughtful and willing to look at both sides. You are doing due diligence to count the costs before jumping the gun. Take your time, pray about it, discuss with your spouse. It may be where you are is ok. Don’t kill your self over a dream that clearly isn’t yours. At the end of the day, you are answerable to your own family, not your uncle.

Good morning sir. Yea I said spoonfed - I'm not usually the type to write such about people but if you take a step back and read the initial message you wrote, you'll see why some will think such.

The first gold which your uncle is providing for you in Manitoba is that of a relation.
The second gold is POF - using the word "ONLY" wasn't a good choice at all.
You've got what so many people are searching for but still in the pool cos they are yet to get such luck.

People like myself will love to even have that relation in Manitoba cos money can't buy that and it's a ticket to secure PNP.

I get it that you might be trying to weigh if Canada is best decision but only you can do that - not your mum and not your uncle.

Advice: Please you need to tone down on the expectation you have of any family or friend - if help comes, good; if it doesn't, you keep moving (In real life, you might not be the type as we've envisioned but this is based off from your first message)

I have been in the banking sector for 9 years. I am in my late 30s. I have B.Sc (5 year course) My wife is in the beauty field(no B. Sc). She's good at it as is in and less than 30. No relatives in Canada.

Please what are my chances of getting PR? I know that WES & IELTS aren't cheap. Before I invest in the process, abeg make una advise me on my best option

Your wife seem to be a better candidate. If she has no Bsc, What’s her qualification? What’s your own job duties in the Bank?

How is the wife a better candidate when she has no BSC? With this new TEER system. Age isn’t as important as it use to?

You have a better chance than your wife...even with the age. Focus on Provincial Nomination. There are province that have high demand in your sector e.g Ontario, Saskwachean , I think Alberta

So the overall consensus is that I should still invest in WES and IELTS? All hope is not lost?

Thanks for the feedback. Make I find money take run am. I would really like my wife to enjoy the Canadian experience.

I'll drop updates after I pay for WES & IELTS

Does ND/HND ring a bell to you? If yes, please allow the guy respond to the questions asked so we can guide him in the right path. Not everyone without Bsc is an illiterate. With regards to age not being as important, please where did you get that info please? Besides IRCC is yet to release the modalities of the targeted draws so I don’t think anyone can say for sure how exactly they intend to go about it.

Asking people to focus on provincial nomination these days is simply limiting their chances. The provinces are changing requirements. The last draw Alberta did for example had the lowest CRS score being invited as 473, there are rumors that they did a new draw recently (website yet to be updated) and so far one of them has a high CRS score of 487. First thing first, your noc determines your chances with the provinces. Yes he stated he has been in the banking sector for 9 years, Banking sector doing what? Operations? Funds transfer? Teller? Customer service? IT unit? Corporate Banking? Etc I think those are questions that needs to be asked before asking people to sit around and wait for PNP.

If your wife has no qualifications at all. You are the better candidate, however the BSc may not give you enough point, consider taking a short course like Acca, CIMA, BCS etc to claim two or more certificates so as to boost your score, evaluate both credentials, Write IELTS and aim for scores LRSW- 8.5,8.0,7.5,7.5 and if possible, let your wife write IELTS too. Find your NOC, ensure it’s under Teer 0,1,2 & 3, get into the express entry pool, while waiting try other means to boost your CRS score eg French, Job offer (can be an Herculean task but not impossible with determination). As someone rightly pointed out, if your occupation happens to be in demand in a province and you have the minimum CRS score they are selecting for the rounds of draw, you may receive NOI (notification of interest. All the best and your wife is lucky to have a very thoughtful and loving husband like you.

Thanks for all the responses. My wife has neither OND nor HND. She embraced the beauty world at an early age and she's pretty good at it. I have worked in operations throughout my career in the bank. Funds transfer, transaction enquiry, instant payment reconciliation and settlement, cards transaction reconciliation, Chargeback, cheque production, cash Management. I hope this puts my situation in a better perspective.

I am drawn to your post because of how highly you portray your wife.
The express entry process is really quite compétitive now with CRS scores hitting the roof in latest draws.
Like others have commented, B.sc alone won't do the trick. You will need a masters, very good ielts scores and french. That's the réality due to your age.

My Advice will be for you to invest in some education like a Masters from National Open University, learn French in parallel to that, ace your IELTS.
