In the meantime, I have an urgent question. My daughter just got accepted to some colleges in the US for undergrad. We're still waiting for some decisions that will come by March. Hopefully with funding. She's a minor and I would like to accompany her to the US.

Is it possible to apply for a B1 B2 visa for myself now and select an interview date then add my daughter to my date since we'll be attending the interview together. That way she can wait till she gets all her admission decisions and pick the best of the schools she gets to apply for F1 visa

Just tell the VO that your Uncle has a crush on you , that's why he's paying your tuition fee

But for real, try to read previous pages on this same thread , you'd get many good answers to your question, then you can pick the one that suits you .

I think it's better your daughter gets her F1 visa first, then you simply apply for B2 visa to accompany her.

Unless your daughter applied ED, you can actually wait until all her decisions are out before applying for F1 visa for her.

Now more importantly, why are you applying for B1/B2? If it simply to accompany her,"it may not fly with the VO".
The reason is because a lot of US schools have an international students center and most times go as far as picking the student up at the airport.

I will advise you wait until her decisions are out before engaging in any VISA brohahah

while I am not sure of the bolded, before every Fall, there is a lot of dates available for Visa applicants.
This is because the VOs are aware that most admissions Decisions are released in March/April(Few Internationals apply for ED because of its binding nature).
So just be patient and wait. A lot of dates will be made available towards July,June, August.

Just make sure to confirm from the school you eventually chose to pick her up.
