Thanks for replying. I actually haven't started the application yet. The thing is I spent about 10 months in the UK last year and up to six months this year, so that's collectively more than 12 months. What I need to confirm is if the 12 months is a continuous stretch or counted across different periods. I think it may be better to apply for a different Nigerian police report and not use the one you got for the UK.

NHQGUY:

I am currently at that upload section now, was going to ask aswell. Though I am sure its not a UK police report but a Nigerian Police Report, you'll see it written there 'Nigeria.
My own confusion is if I can upload the police report I used while coming to UK, it has the United Kingdom as destination written on it.

Hello brothers and sisters in the house.

I need help on how to go about this VETASSES thing.

I hold a BSc in Environmental Biology but have certifications in Business Analysis and Data Analysis. I also have some working experience (3 years) both international and local in the Analytics field to back these certifications up. what do you guys advice??

Will these certifications be recognised by Australian government or do they only recognise University education?

thanks in anticipation.
No they won’t. You need a bachelors or masters qualification to assess as a Business analyst.

Is it ok to submit only work reference letter as evidence for work experience?
No. That’s not enough for work experience except you didn’t claim points for experience

Hi all,

I have two questions regarding the police report:

1) how does one apply for a Nigerian police report if one is based in the UK?
2) are you expected to apply for a UK police report if you have never lived there for 12 consecutive months but collectively if all months are counted, they add up to over 12 months?

Thanks in advance.

Also, I would like to connect with any business analyst who got a 189 invitation.

I claimed points for it. 8years experience.
Getting tax certificate is not working out.
If i choose to use my bank statement, do I need to generate a bank statement covering the whole 8years?

You don't have to print the whole 8 years. Print the first 6 months, 3 months from each year and last 6 months.

You can add your pension fund statement to it and payslips.

Hi everyone, please I have some concerns that require the input of experts in the house. I did Master of telecommunication engineering in Australia, and I have gotten a positive assessment with EA for Telecom Engineer through it. Also, I have already done an expression of interest in that skill in some states in Australia without claiming points for work experience because of some complexities involved from my employers in Nigeria. But I changed my career during COVID-19, and I have been working as DevOps/Cloud Engineer for more than a year now. I know I will have to do an assessment with ACS on the new job, but I am getting confused about it. I am thinking of claiming 5 more points for working in Australia for 1-3 years to boost my point. Is anyone in a similar situation please help.

Please, what can I do?

Hello All,
I have been preparing to lodge application for skill assessment with VETASSES until yesterday when I read something that’s discouraging based on my peculiar family issues that I need advice on. I have a three year old son that’s suspected to have autism though no official diagnosis have been given. He has most of the signs and I personally think he is. Also, my wife was diagnosed of rheumatoid arthritis earlier this year. I read about Australia refusing PR based on similar health issues and I don’t want to waste money and it ends in that. I am the main applicant and have no medical issue.

Please is there anybody here that had similar issues or knows anyone that did and was successful?

Please I need advice from experienced folks.

Your immediate worry should be getting a positive assessment from ACS before thinking of claiming work experience. ACS is known to reduce work experience depending on your qualification and how long you have been in the occupation.

Meanwhile, if you get a positive assessment from ACS with your years of service approved, you can claim the Australian work experience points

Applicants and dependents who don't pass the medical examination are usually denied visa because according to them, they will constitute significant cost to tax payers. However, I don't think the medical examination conducted will identify if a child has autism or your wife has arthritis.
Autism may be considered a significant cost to the economy but it is not what the test will identify except you tell the panel doctors that you suspect he has autism.

The medical examination check significant visible disability, organ issues etc. The X-ray included is for the chest check for TB and other diseases, it doesn't target the joint to identify if there is a presence of rheumatoid arthritis.

To get nomination, register multiple EOIs on the 'federal portal' like you call it. For each EOI, select one state and indicate if you want 491 or 190 and if your occupation is on the 189 list, add it to the list.
For example,
EOIa - NSW 190 (tick the 189 box too)
EOIb - NSW 491 only
EOIc - SA 190 (tick the 189 box)
EOId - SA 491
You should create at least 4 to open up your chances. You can use same email address but note down your EOI numbers and passwords.

Then monitor each state migration website for their nomination requirements. For example, NSW requires ROI for 491 but not for 190.
If a state nominates your occupation and you did not create EOI for them, you can create a new one asap or modify one of the EOIs you have to that state.
The state points are automatically added when you select the visa class on EOI.
The federal draw is only for 189 and not for 190/491
If you apply for ROI in SA for example and you meet the requirement, you will get a pre-invite to submit documents to the state within 14 days. After which the state will approve your nomination and you get ITA directly from your EOI.

THanks again for this post. Ive been reading more about these! However, I have a question..."Why create multiple 189s"? I thought that with one 189, you can decide to migrate to any state. Would it not suffice to simply select 189 for one EOI - since 189 is not for state! Then create for each of the states new EOIs while selecting 190 and 491 for each of the states. E.g

1. EOIa 189
2. EOIb NSW (tick 190 & 491)
3. EOIc SA (tick 190 & 491)
etc etc...

Secondly please can you kindly provide a list of which of the states would require creating ROIs? I've been searching this information online...so far, I've only observed that Victoria and SA require ROI. Is there any other states that would request for ROI?

Hi Everyone,
My bro-in-law has just been granted his 489 visa sponsored by South Australia. Obviously he is aware he has to live and work in a regional area which luckily has been expanded to cover more cities. My question is, can he move between designated regional cities around Australia or it has to be in South Australia?

He can live in any regional area as long as it’s not Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney. He should stick to the post codes in his grant letter

Thanks.

I noticed you prefer separating 190 and 491...i.e it seems you'ld rather have them on separate EOIs. Any reason for this? can you not have them both on the same EOI? i.e tick both 190 and 491 on same EOI?

Hi again house,

Please what's the procedure if you receive two separate EOI invitations for 189 (for SA and NSW)? Can I just pick any one to apply? Also, if I pick either one, can I choose a completely different intended state as residence? Your help/response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This your question is confusing to beginners like me o! I thought that 189 is not state-dependent? i.e you are not bound to stick to any state!

BTW, Queensland requires POF on this journey!

Because we have seen recently where people get 491 and get 190 later from the same state. So if you have one EOI, you may miss out.

189 is a federal visa subclass. You don't select state for 189 and if you are required to select any state, just select any or unknown
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Bodacious1: 2:33pm On Dec 14, 2022
I understand what 189 is. Let me ask this question differently, so my point of view is clearer...

I created three separate EOIs each for three different states.

For state 1, I selected 189, 190 & 491
For states 2 & 3, I selected 189 & 190

Last week, I received two separate emails inviting me to lodge a visa application using EOIs I created for states 2 & 3. I opted to use the EOI I created for state 2 and now while completing the application, I got to a stage asking me to select state of residence (that's the screenshot I shared). If I select any state now, does this mean I can still change my mind to a different state when the time comes for me to move without restrictions (since 189 is a federal visa)?

Thanks for your help.

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by Mcslize: 6:50pm On Dec 14, 2022
I think I understood your question. From your write up, you went for 189, but they are asking you for state of residence. That could possibly means the state you will love to reside. You can choose any state of your choice as far as it's not 190 or 491.

Just select any state and proceed. 189 offers you the freedom to reside in any state irrespective of the state you choose during your visa process.

Even if you select, let's say Victoria state now, you can still decide to stay in New South Wales, Western Australia or South Australia as far it's visa 189 you're lodging. You ain't restricted to a particular State irrespective of what you choose now.

Got you now. That’s clear enough.
Congratulations on your ITA.
You can select any state of residence. You are going to be a PR and can live anywhere.

Now that you have gotten ITA, please take time to withdraw all your EOIs so as to give room to others who are waiting for ITA. Cos if you get another ITA, it’s a waste to you and affect others on the queue.

For everyone else, pls only select 189 for one of your EOIs so that you don’t debar other people’s chances of getting 189.
