Wait, Okocha has a freekick technique o. shocked

Why don't we have someone in the GWG currently using it?

IMO,the first step to achieve all these is to let all these state government for away with club ownership in Nigeria...Most state government are incompetent when it comes to issues regarding generation and management of revenue..That's why a lot of them have to wait for federal government allocation before they can pay salaries...
Orji Uzor Kalu of Abia remains the only governor with a track record of investing well in a state owned club. That investment yielded results and made Enyimba one of Africa biggest club.. But unfortunately,it wasn't sustained in the long run...

The private sector in Nigeria has proven it's capability as we have seen in the entertainment and tech industries...

OUK really did well. Basically, if we raise the bar to where it's supposed to be,he will be average. But average is the best right now. One would have imagined that setting up the club for private ownership with stakes here and there would be the vision. Unfortunately that didn't really happen. To see the future is an Achilles of our leaders.

The admin will need to do a lot of marketability to link the league back to the NT. For now, it's a big disconnect. I see solid investments from the new generation clubs already, especially in social media and public relations. The old ones may fade off like Stationery store or Julius Berger if they don plan.

The super eagles currently:

Goalkeeping- 4/10

Defence - 5/10

Midfield- 5/10

Attack- 7/10
You‘re being generous actually. That Goalkeeping should be 2/10 While defence should be 3/10 the midfield should be 4/10. Only the Attack deserves the rating.

like, Argentina were very direct in approach. Nobody told the Croats to decongest middle after 2-0. They still failed in matching intensity. Even the best are victims of their own one way football philosophy.
Scaloni did his homework. He is a perfect definition of a tactically astute coach. I was feeling nervous some minutes before the match but after watching the first 10 minutes, I was confident of Argentina's win.

Honestly,it's only the attack that inspires some confidence.. Our midfield is struggling..Iwobi is the only real spark there..Ndidi is struggling currently..

just like our players our coaches have zero ambition, nothing stopping a fatai osho or Fidelis from joining a club in Africa to make their cv more beautiful but they’ll rather stay in their comfort zone. Our recently retired players? Those ones are worst, Joseph Yobo was forced to take up a spot in our technical crew he still refused to go for his coaching badges, aside Utaka I don’t know any former player trying to make his name as a coach while other Africans are trying to start a career, Kolo Toure is now Wigan’s coach while his brother Yaya is with Conte at Tottenham , Benny McCarty is Manchester United’s striker coach, Elneny have already started his UEFA coaching course but our players are no where to be found. You see why we’ll either continue to employ 3rd grade foreign coaches or we’ll manage our Amunike like that

Exactly what I've been talking about. I'm glad you understand. The thing is they refuse to accept their gross incompetence and unwillingness to improve. They'd rather go ahead feeling entitled to the head coach role. Their favourite game is to play the racial card by claiming we prefer foreign coaches to them.

The best we can do now is to hope Peseiro gets his shiit together and starts performing well, or else we'll have to go back to square 1.

P.S, you forgot to mention Ladan Bosso and Paul Aigbogun cheesy: Two of the worst local coaches I've ever seen.

They probably are too myopic in thinking.

It is not a must to get that badge and then settle for a Nigerian job. Infact it is sweeter outside. The Late Keshi did it and they ran begging to him. If they are respected for the exploits gotten from coaching outside, nobody back home will write them off. Besides, they can pull a Herve Renard on any highest bidder as they like, all under a decade.

BUT.......

Sir Jihday, do you think if those guys Fatai Osho and Fidelis get a job outside Nigeria, that they won't take it? They won't employ themselves now. Amodu spent a couple of seasons in SA with Sundowns on the back of his national team job and perhaps African continental wins. I believe Finidi, Amuneke and Eguavoen all have badges right.

Na d truth bro ...presently we don’t av a pairing cbs in eagles aside maybe aging balogun, odas pairing tried at dt cbs pairing has been having underwhelming performance

Let us go to d midfield, who Dey dere, remove d rejuvenated iwobi, d midfield is flat

When d oda two depts are weak, little will d striking dept will do even if u parade d likes of haaland, benzema of dis world.

We have d names ,but let’s juxtapose deir output for club and country, aside osimhen odas re still struggling

Chai...Dey calm down bro.
When Morocco was playing, a lot of monikers here commented about how good their transition from defence to attack is. That's exactly what we are lacking.

At the heart of that is, " WORK RATE " It really does not matter how tactfully and technically astute you are , all the skills and dribbling will amount to NOTHING without work rate and team COHESION.

IMO

Goalkeeper - 4/10

Midfield - 4/10
Attack is - 8/10

Overall - 20/40

How can our attack be any less when we have the players in the top 3 goal scorers in the Italian, French and Belgium top flights? The competition to get in our attack is probably one of the fiercest in world football.
