I am genuinely curious, why is the situation so bad that an embassy says visa appointment can be slated a year after application for mere student visa? Even the US people criticise for being too high-handed does not do such.

No be the same Germany wey wan reduce the years to become a German citizen and wants to legalise dual citizenship?

In my opinion, it would be:
1. Preference for the EU and other European citizens
2. Tuition free-this affects the student:faculty ratio and funding cost where foreigners will be responsible for increased funding. My class has 23 students, only 1 German!
3. Systematic control of immigration and emigration-Germany has an economic model ensuring very few people are poor and few rich people. The accommodation of Ukrainians and people who fled Ukraine has impact as well.
4. Rejection rate is low if you meet requirements.
5. Low timely graduation rates amongst developing countries' citizens. Some us spend 4-6 years in a 2 year course.
6. Na their country, they don't owe us even explanation.

Thanks for the explanation. Why our people still die put for Germany notwithstanding the visa process gets me confused. I was interested there sha, but EU regulations don't favour my research theme, the long route to eventual citizenship and obviously, the visa procedures. Make dem try other options.

Have you visited the website of at least 5 Universities offering Medicine and Surgery to see the course organisation and admission requirements?
Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by nightfox01(m): 6:38am On Dec 14, 2022
Yes there are different requirements from the ones I have checked there are 39 Universities offering medsurg they require a lot like highschool cert, University degree not less than 3.5 German equivalent language proficiency and it is highly competitive as only 5% of seats are left for foreigners. I want to know if any one here has gotten an admission before

And the website I checked is confusing as to the exact requirements as each school request a slightly different thing and I intend to apply to all after language classes

True, each school's requirement only slightly differs.
It's better for you to understand the basic requirements on your own so it can be easier.
Grade requirements (you're qualified)
Language requirements
And the school specific requirements (if any)
Method of application (uniassist or school website)

That's the best rate I know for now.
Do you have an appointment yet?
When did you apply for appointment?

These influence whether you should be in a hurry or not. you can as well enquire at the bank or change the bank!

Go to at least 3 banks and enquire how long it might take them. Sterling usually is fast. Or leave the current process to tarry.
But if it becomes urgent say in late January, you can post here and one can recommend.
Otherwise, calm down and hope NGN improves against EUR

I'm waiting on sterling bank to debit and now it's 11 weeks running. I was told it takes about 90 days for sterling to debit today.

It’s really bad that they have to treat Nigerian students in this unfair manner. How can one wait a full year for an appointment to study
