The issue is with going back and forth with price fluctuations. Not all clients would believe you. And on the other hand, not all vendors would be sincere enough not to come up with artificial price increases.

A perfect scenario with my suggested plan is where price (quote) is set. A delivery date is set, and payments are split in between.
No other negotiations along the way.

Same thing a tile seller told me, I intended buying a large amount of tiles while paying installmentally, he told me the prices changes mostly every week or so, I had to draw back and wait till I'm able to atleast buy a reasonable amount for the time being, can be frustrating. Some of these sellers are not truthful and they use the fluctuating dollar exchange rate as an excuse.

If not, you yourself and those artisans/vendors with past history of mismanaging clients funds should have been investigated, banned and removed from here long ago. Absolutely with client in diaspora… currently doing same with a client in Awka… I actually prefer this… since I source most of my materials from oversea

In my quotations, I start with dollars but convert them to Naira.

Then add a reasonable margin, then use a future non-existent exchange rate such as (if the black market rate today is $1=N750) then I could use $1=850

But since it is required that I quote in Naira, I submit the quote in Naira.

That way whatever happens to the Naira, I will simply lose some profit but not all.

That has worked for me for years.

In short, I am saying this is a perfect formula to account for the state of our economy.

yes sir, u self have changed the question, moreso it's what u self can do, u was there in ur site or security told u about the iccident, at the end of the job when u want to pay balance to the vendor u willingly add something for them because of wound, dat is just what happened den,
