I'm honestly filled with regrets now, it's almost getting me depressed.

I just called my mom now and during our conversation, she reminded me of my promise to her to make first class in school.

I'm in my final year now and I know is not possible again, I really disappointed in myself, I feel like starting all over again but I'm 25 years already.

This is something I'm sure I can do. I was the best student in my primary and secondary school. I don't know what I happened to me. I'm so down now, lot of things are currently going on in my mind now, I don't know how to get over this.

I'm on low profile in school, I don't mingle with bad boys nor chase girls, I'm still that good boy my mom knows, but my results speaks otherwise

I feel I have betrayed my mum, she has invested so much in me for me to fail on my promise to her. She doesn't care if she doesn't feed well or wear good clothes just to make sure I'm comfortable in school.

Recently she sent me 90k to take care of myself. I'm crying writing this honestly.

I just pray this doesn't lead me to something else because I can't bear it

Modified: I'm in 2.1 now. Pls I need some sought of encouragement now, I'm currently writing my first semester exams now and this thing wants to weigh me down

God help to get over this, I won't hurt myself, I won't.
Re: I'm Living In Regrets by Chukzbaby: 10:32am On Dec 15, 2022
Hurting myself will cause more pain to my mum, I need to repay that love and affection she has always shown to me.

Just thinking of the best way to do it...

You need to calm down.

Sometimes, exams don't truly represent our IQ level and certificates don't determine how successful we will become in life.

Making a first class, no doubt, is a good thing. However, there's rarely any job that a first class graduate is qualified for that a 2'1 graduate is not.

Focus on looking for skills, ideas and businesses people do to make money. When you leave school, getting a job with your degree is a lot of hard work. Your country doesn't create opportunities for people like you.

Tell your mom that you tried but things didn't go as planned. However, one thing you should always use to console yourself is that there's no job a first class graduate is qualified for that you are not.

You should be complaining if you slide further into 2'2. Believe it or not, 2'1 is a beautiful class of degree. You just need to make money to make your mother happy - class of degree doesn't pay bills.

Good luck....

what is wrong? i can't point the problem in your writeup, is your grade the reason for the depression or your mom's expectation?

Which grade are you Inasmuch it's not pass, 3rd class or lower credit

Having first class is good but that's not the only way to repay her.

Ask God for grace and mercy so that notwithstanding whatsoever result you come with, you'll be favoured.

Remain focused in your studies and don't allow any form of distractions.

May God continue to keep your mind in Jesus name, amen.

Your grades do not define you as successful. Life is way way bigger than grades. What will matter most is that you have developed skills to make you get good jobs or do great at business.

Grades are not very important as long as they are decent.

Don't kill yourself over nothing. You are over beating this issue, you can be successful, you can be anything in life without first class.

You didn't say what class you're on at the moment. Would have given us am idea whether or not getting a first class is truly impossible.

Lol...
You've not seen 3rd class doing pretty better than 1st class right? You better stay focus and plan your life after studies.

Oga, what exactly is the issue here?
At 25, you're still young and can do a lot with your life.
Except if you have a terminal illness, get off your butt and do something with your life. This life is for the strong; and you intentionally decide to be strong. You've come to this life already, so don't waste it crying and begging for pity.
