Its because as kids every call from nigeria is from beggi beggi uncles, aunties, cousins etc. So they grow up with the mentality that Nigerians are beggars. Their parents even pack their used clothes when going back home for people in Nigeria.

Dear nothings going to change.
It’s a pattern.

Do you realize that in 1984 we had regular power supply. The dollar was 1-1 Naira
Refinery NNPC worked
Streets were paved with asphalt
Population growth was in check.
Nigerian Airways was in air.
Roads and highways were lined.

There were no touts and Agberos.

There were no kidnappers or rapists in abundance.
I have been in and out of the country.

We lack a maintenance mentality.
There is no continuance culture .
We do not fix things we migrate .
All those edifices built will be harboured by squatters in 10 years.
Those who can’t bear are leaving and those of us that can will stay and hope.
How's it going Rickleye?

You are largely correct historically there, because I flew on board domestic and international Nigeria Airways flights back in the day, but...

There were Agberos back in the 1970s and the early 1980s. Agbero is a contraction of the terms: "agbe and ero," and it simply means "to carry passengers" in the Yoruba language. In full Yoruba, it means: "awon to n gbe ero."

Agbe (to carry).
Ero (passengers).

Agbero is the Yoruba word for the members of the national transport union who are legitimately
registered with the Corporate
Affairs Commission, and all are members of the Nigerian Labor Congress. Legit Agberos who wear the Transport Union uniforms exist all over the Nigerian states. The violent ones are the economic migrants who go to the big cities to hustle and pretend to be real Agberos, when infact they don't wear Transport Union uniforms and are illegal touts and "omo itas" who just harass people.

"Omo ita" (a street gang member) in Yoruba language is NOT the same as Agbero but some people who don't speak or understand Yoruba just mangle or mix the two words and end up sounding stupidly pathetic.

Thanks for the correction . You are right although the lines are blurred nowadays. Back in the day . You had Agberos that helped conductor-less drivers shout and get passengers or along with conductors shouted to alert passengers of buses going various directions.

Why does it seems like Nigerians born abroad tend to look down on Nigerians born in Nigeria? I've noticed this mostly with some YouTubers on YouTube and it got me curious.

So, I was wondering if I could get more clarity from you guys.

Is it just me, or Nigerians born abroad look down on Nigerians born in Nigeria?
please search your pocket. I think you've stolen my heart. Can I have your digits?

Wouldn’t you be ashamed
When you get harassed at the airport because you have 2 luggages.
Get stopped by police and have your phones searched because you look like a suspect.
Get told that you have to pay police 200,000 because you mistakenly attempted to pass a BRT lane.
Get pulled over wearing shades while driving while young and black.

What do these have to do with the topic?

I can confirm that you guys are too hostile and hate minding your business.
Nigerians likes the norm and seriously hates quirks and anything outside of the norm without expressing their anger and will go the extra miles to hurt you and hurt your character too.

Take for instance, if someone complains a lot, here you will just smile or even have compassion for their weakness as God is the almighty that makes us different and if you’re somewhat perfect, be thankful.
On the other hand in Nigeria, you guys will lash out on the person and start ignoring them. You don’t like to extend Grace to others and let live.

Personally, I can never forget when I traveled home and finished eating and one girl said won’t I chew the chicken bone, I said no I don’t eat the bone and she wanted to beat me that I’m a liar and that she hates forming . me that I was born in Dagenham, I dint even remember that there’s something called chicken bone eating!

When I meet my fellow Nigerians who are at home I walk egg shells around them.
However, some of them are practically Angels, especially the mature ones.

Not classy, classist

As per elitism, looking down on people etc. individuals from every social strata do it, not even just the rich, ‘high class’ people
