Honestly, I ain't surprised one bit. Cavill cameo wasn't brought by Gunn or Safran in the first place. That's the previous regime. They were given the job after.

Gunn's previous statements already hinted fans weren't going to like everything at first. I knew it was Cavill and maybe Ben they meant with that cryptic message. I just didn't expect Cavill to be gone this quick, I was expecting something in Flash to round up his era.

Cavill never needed Black Adam to promote himself and as you can see he never actually needed Black Adam.
Yes, Dwayne Johnson needed Cavill but hey, he never used Cavill to promote the movie before its release.

At this point, I don't think anyone attached to the DCEU will be back not even the side characters. If they are then it shows Gunn does not really like Cavill as rumor earlier suggested.

There was lobbying involved at this point, Zaslav calls up Peter to be the creative and business head of DCEU...Peter tells Zaslav that he can't handle the creative aspect and asks if it's ok to bring in Gunn, Zaslav OK's the decision...
At this point, nothing has been signed yet but Dwayne is aware WB is close to hiring Peter and James, so he goes double or nothing on Black Adam, does everything to bring Henry(they have a business relationship) back so as to prepare a massive cinematic show down between them( doesn't want to get involved with Shazam as a side villain, wants to be the big gun)...

At this point, Dwayne knew James would want to do his own thing and he would have to be subject to his creative direction, so he leveraged his star power into getting WB to get Cavill back in hopes that this would make Black Adam a huge grosser and the studio on seeing this, would let him take his Character and characters( Superman, Justice league, Shazam family etc) whose stories revolved around Black Adam whatever direction he wanted creatively..

Someone asking the right questions here. We were being critical about Dwayne's tactics and we were made to look like haters.
Insiders have been saying that Cavill didn't have a contract for months but we didn't wanna hear and made ourselves happy.

Where are the Snyderverse and Cavill fans to boost up Black Adam. That movie was the last test to see how audiences gauged Cavill's Superman. And it is/was the final nail in the coffin for him.

To be fair, I don't think Dwayne did this maliciously, while it was very well for his brand ( to be the face of DCEU cinematically and creatively), Cavill would have gotten a pretty big boost too if it worked out ...

As for Dany, stick with him, after all, he got him the Witcher and Super Man gig...
He left Witcher because he was supposedly tired of being the voice advocating for adherence to established Witcher Lore..The creatives wanted to put their own spin on they stories...
One thing you have to recognise is this, Creatives have big over inflated egos, that's why they f"ck up a lot of things. They want to be the reason for the success of whatever they work on, so they go on these ego trips and try to put their signature in places they aren't needed and unless someone higher up checks them, it can lead to convoluted nonsense sometimes...

They claim they want a younger actor to play Superman, but Henry Cavil is young enough (39 years) to play Superman for the next ten to twenty years, so I don't really get. Not forgetting his young looks.

It's not about age, it's about an actor not being the choice or favorite of the franchise head for reasons known to him.

In as much as I'm disappointed, I'm not surprised because James Gunn from the beginning has made it known that decisions will be made and some of this decisions will not be loved by the fanbase, but it's for the franchise's future. I guess this is one of those decisions.

I heard Gunn/ Safran plans have been approved, let's see how they go about it.
