Perhaps you should be more transparent by naming the products he intends to supply to you.
1, Brand of Inverter (very important)
2, Brand of Battery (Also 165,000x2 is not = #310,000 or #300,000)
3, Brand of Solar panels (Also 300w is not = 1.6kw)
4, Others are at your dicretion.

Cheers.

Number 3 is supposed to be what?
He hasn't told me about the brands. I have requested for it

Someone suggested previously here that the installer should put the names of various components he intends to buy for you.
You may still come back to seek help and it may be too late then.
I suggest you get everything right from the beginning so you can enjoy your investment.
I haven't started hence the reason it here for people to scrutinize.

300W * 6 = 1.8KW (1800W), this depends on the type of panels you buy (e.g. Canadian Solar, Jinko, Ja, Trina, Yingli). He should not go and buy cheap panels with premium nameplates on them.

I am more interested to know the 3kw hybrid he suggested, the price look similar to the one @Valto recommended to me.

Some pages ago I and Zeestone suggested you asked for names of items to purchase, this is very important!

Nice, Is it this number "08033731860" you transacted with?

Small world indeed, if the MD was a dishonest man, he probably wouldn't have gotten such purchase worth 4.6m from you.

jonescosmos:
Yes, TechLand is a trusted dealer, I transacted with them yesterday, communications was with the MD directly.

They shipped out my 26pcs of 600w Canadian Solar panels yesterday fingers crsooed I would recieve them soon enough.

And guess what, The man is from my state, hehehehe, small world.

From the picture you posted Kartel don't seem to have where you can set the charging current and charging voltage. If this be the case, it means you will be needing a new inverter for your proposed upgrade.

drered:
Hi Guys,

My first post here. This is my current set up and I’m thinking of upgrading the batteries. I have heard in the past that adding new batteries to a set up would mess the whole grid up and I don’t know how true this is. I am also looking at getting a lithium battery but I’m not sure if my kartel inverter would be compatible with it.

Please advise.

Setup - 5.0KVA 24V Kartel inverter, MPPT solar charge controller, Four 350W solar panels and two 220AH Luminous batteries.

How many horsepower is your pump and is it submersible?

Also state the brand and model of your inverter

Pojomojo:
Please, what are you honest thoughts on this quote? 3.5kva
3kw 24volt Hybrid Inverter Setup + Solar

1. 3kw 24volt Hybrid inverter (80Amps MPPT) = #260,000

2. 12v 220AH battery 2pcs = #165,000 x 2 = #310,000 (Tubular battery)

3. 300watts Solar panels 6pieces (1.8kw) = #75,000 x 9 = #600,000

4. Solar mounting rails on roof and its accessories = #24,000

5. AC & DC Cables = #90,000

6. AC and DC breakers, MC4 connectors, Trunking, breaker box, Input AVS, DC Surge, ChangeOver. = #50,000

7. Logistics to site of work = #25,000

8. Installation = #60,000

24V MUSTPOWER 3KVA hybrid inverter, 80A mppt adjustable charge settings pretty low idle consumption. sold around 220k to 230k

Please can this inverter carry 2hp submersible pumping machine?

Nb: All appliances will be off when pumping.

Also its Maximum PV Input is 2000W, can one connect 6 * 400W (2400W) Jinko Half Cut Panels to it?

Nb: Panel Voc 49.1, Inverter VDC 150.

Abeg why did you get a charge controller for your inverter? I have the famicare 5.5kva 24v inverter and it comes with internal pwm solar charge controller.

Good question!
I would also like to know why I have one if the inverter comes with its own charge controller. I simply followed the installers recommendation and setup has been working flawlessly
after my initial worry thanks to a few pointers on this thread on maximising what I have.
Will follow up on this when I'm on ground.

As the other poster pointed out, your inverter has a pwm inbuilt cc, pwm cc has many limitations.most inbuilt ones max out at 50amps and 100v VOC.. PWM cc is best if your panel capacity is below 900watts.

So thats the likely reason ur installer got a separate cc, as u say u have 12 x 300 watts panels

Can anyone give an answer to dis pls?

Inverter stand alone 1600w/800w continuous
Freezer of 115w consumes about 8a. When the freezer is working, the fan of d inverter wont run and if at all it runs, it is extremely slow.

But the moment I turn on a 32' tv (35w) and decoder of about 6w total of 41w ,( without d freezer) it will run the fan well enough to hear it blows.
Question:
Pls why will tv and decoder of 41w run the fan of the inverter but not with the freezer of higher wattage? Am really curious. grin

Did you measure the amps from the battery for the tv/decoder watts or just used nameplate specs?

Inverter - MUSTpower

Battery - Pro Power, Multipower or Mercury (All Tubular)

The Solar panels will be 270watts (tukunbo poly not mono)

Thanks a whole lot Bros.
Just for people who might want to setup something similar, the space is 8ft x 8ft sha. I have ordered a 16Inch Extraction Fan from the USA, The fan is Temperature and Humidity Controlled, also has a mobile App for remote control and mmonitoring.

The "Tubular Gang" are meant to be decommisioned and sold off after fully testing the Lithium batteries and their capabilities. Those Tubular Batteries is going to be replaced by a 3rd 9.5KW Lithium Battery and the 2x 5KW inverters will be put in Parallel Mode (Teste this method already though) Or I would simply grab another inverter with 2 MMPT input Strings for my 10x 540W Panels and 8x 350W Panels, Felicity now has a New Model that has 2 MPPT Inputs , this:
https://www.felicitysolar.com/600v-10000-watt-3-phase-solar-hybrid-inverter-dc-to-ac-in-parallel_p129.html
and this:
https://www.felicitysolar.com/best-48v-5kw-hybrid-grid-tie-pure-sine-wave-inverter-for-home_p128.html

Hehehehe, That my Generator is a 3Phase 6.5Kva Birtoli Gen and was retired since almost 4 years now by my 4 Years old former Inverter (3Kva iPowerPlus) Which I have now installed for my mom in Lagos (Picture Attached Below). So the small Gen is just there rusting out.

This new setup is aimed at retiring my 20kva Mikano Generator for good. And ofcourse Nepa People are not happy with me ooo. They came last week to inspect my meter and I showed them the panels on the roof. Hehehehe. I told them the I had to sum up the monthly 100k I used to recharge for 3yrs and yet the electricity will still not be available when you need it most times. so i decided to demote Nepa Supply on my Priority list and go for solar energy.
The two Genertaors might be auctioned out after a year of fully testing this my potential off grid Installation.

Good use of money... Smiles. I advise you keep either of the gennys as a backup during emergencies. The smaller one is ok as a backup.

Hahahaha, she got there and asked for the contact person number, I sent and after a moment she said so you don't know Charles? grin
By the way she carried out the inpection and other things as standard prerequisites.

Oga Chris asked me on the chat "So you sent your mom on errand?"

Good morning people.

Abeg I need a 3 Phase Inverter, with atleast 2 MPPT Inbuit. 8KVA, 10KVA or 12KVA model.

You will have to connect three inverters with the ability to be run as a three phase unit.

Gurus in the house, I just ordered 2pcs of 410w JA solar panels from Techland for my 12V system.
