Hi Seniors,

Please I need your advice. I landed in sep this year as a PR with my spouse. However, my mum would be visiting in April '23. Please is there a guide for the invitation letter I am to write? Also is a fixed deposit certificate of 5million naira enough for proof of funds? my mum plans to stay for a period of 5 months and she would be sponsoring herself although she will be staying with us and all. Thank you

True ”this do it yourself “is not easy.. it takes time and energy.

Do you have anyone you can ask in US or Canada or anywhere abroad who can pay with their card?
Thats how i paid mine last night.
And you give the Naira equivalent to them(especially this season when people are sending money home.. you can give the Naira to who they want to give here).

Please do you know who can help

I can help you to pay using my domiciliary account debit card. But you will pay the black market equivalent of the CAN$100. If you’re okay with that, drop your mobile and I’ll call you or you can message me directly.

Thanks, I'm doing that already, still need answers to the Proof of fund questions.

Please remember to apply for a CAQ. To study in Quebec, you must have your Certificate of Acceptance Quebec and which is part of the documents for your visa processing.

If your spouse is an adult then she doesn’t need a letter to travel or board a plane

Everyone should sha be careful with getting strangers to make their application payments, there have been several recent instances where IRCC sends procedural fairness letters to applicants about recalled application fees. These are people who had third parties pay for them and the third party recalled the fees after the payment went through.

Not accusing anyone offering such services of anything, just for people to be careful when making such decisions.

Please is there anyone who can give advice and process for a pregnant woman who intend on traveling to Canada to give birth?. I want to know what documents to present at the embassy. How can I get a hospital, doctor or midwife that can issue us a letter confirming the purpose of traveling and also kindly let me know the average cost in giving birth in Canada.

the baby would have been born before these people give you visa. If you don’t have visa before pregnancy don’t waste your time

Truth

New report below and you will understand why some application just hang because it assigned to inactive officer..l hope ircc correct all this error and backlog soon

Tens of thousands of applicants have been assigned by Canada’s immigration department, IRCC, to inactive immigration officers. Immigration officers are often represented by a code to conceal their identity. New data reveals that some of these officers code didn’t logged in since 2007.
IRCC data on inactive users on their Global Case Management System (GCMS), their worldwide internal system used to process citizenship and immigration applications, was obtained by CBC News.
As of this February 2022, IRCC data shows that 59,456 open, pending or reopened applications were assigned to 779 former employees or dormant computer placeholder codes which have been under processing for quite a long time

One application was assigned to a Montreal-based code whose last login occurred on October 6, 2006. For an Edmonton code or employee who last logged in on May 9, 2007, there are 19 applications assigned to them as of February 2022.

In buttressing this comment, I’ll like to share an experience…
I involved a third party in visa fee payment for my cousin of 17 years old because I didn’t have my domiciliary account debit card at the time. Unfortunately, the guy used a stolen debit card of a U.S. citizen to make the payment and after the transaction went through, it was later reversed(this can only be done if a stolen or hacked card was used and that was the case here. The owner of the card with the help of his bank traced the card to IRCC account and lodged a complaint). IRCC office contacted my cousin to make another payment which I finally did with my card. Weeks later, IRCC contacted him again and sent a procedural fairness letter demanding for an explanation on the first fraudulent transaction and details of who made the payment and why didn’t my cousin mentioned in a form that someone assisted him in completing the application forms. We responded that it was a third party who made the payment and he’s currently at large as my cousin isn’t the only victim. Also, apart from the payment, he, my cousin completed the application forms on his own with no third party assistance(I actually did the application for him though). He begged to be considered being a young adult and a first time applicant who has no debit card and still under a guardian who was unavoidably absent during his application. Fortunately, his explanation was accepted and his medicals requested. He’s now in Canada.

So people, be careful when dealing with third party payments o.

Congrats. Yes you can do either. With DHL ensure you do a 2 way courier.
For walk in, time for submission of passport is from 8am -10am.

All the best.

Thanks a lot. The passport request letter I received doesn't state how to send via Courier. I've checked vfs website and can't see anything about courier there too. I'm trying to avoid flying to Lagos just to drop passport.

Oh no.. you dont have to fly anywhere. If you dont live in Abuja or Lagos. Just go to DHL and tell them you want to pay for a 2 way courier.

Abuja is faster. If you didn't do biometrics in Abuja and you want to send to Abuja(please pay the transmission fee(9410) and sms fee 990).

But if you are not in a hurry. Just submit to Lagos if thats where you did biometrics.

The process involved in passport stamping:

Abuja Address;Visa Application Centre, sterling bank plaza, 3rd floor, plot No 1083, Mohammadu Buhari Way, Central Business District, Abuja Nigeria

Lagos Address; Visa Application Centre Ground Floor, The Manor Plot 110, Admiral ayinla way, lekki phase 1 lagos Nigeria

Requirement; if you did your biometrics in abuja, Theres no fee except for delivery fees.
buy an envelope.

IF NOT, You will first pay a transmission fee of N9410 to CANADA LOGISTIC COLLECTION account(0065165839) Sterling bank
Then print the receipt from your phone(coloured).

if you did your biometrics in lagos. Go to DHL closer to you and pay for 2-way courier and also pay for insurance to be sent to canada VAC Abuja, buy a fresh brown envelope and add the following NB; remember to give DHL a return address since its a 2 way courier

1.)put two photocopies of your passport data page(coloured)
2.)your yellow or white biometric strip(if you have misplaced these paper go to VFS so theyll sort you out). If you dont have the slip you can still send it regardless or you can add the BVL(biometric validation letter)
3.)Passport request letter
4.)1 copy of the consent form downloaded and signed( note u are filling and signing just the second page of your consent form)
3.)the passport itself
4.)one plain sheet of paper where you can write your Name, address, Email, phone number and signature
5.)one coloured copy of the receipt of the transmission fee payment

I'm not sure why my process was this fast. I'm a frequent flyer though... that may have helped.

Hello,
For those that have sent their passport to IRCC via VFS in recent times like from November. Can you share what you did to be able to receive your stamped passport within two passports.

Thanks

Thank you for this information. I am in same situation, applied Nov 4, did biometrics at Lagos VAC a week after and got PPR Dec 14. I used the new portal and I have a valid US visa as well.

My question is I can do DHL, or walk-in to Lagos VFS? If I do walk-in to Lagos VFS, do I pick up there too when passport is stamped or it will be delivered to my address of choice? Are there any fees for walk-in?
