komekn: You just rehash lies. The point has been debated for years. Young players can fail MRI while it is almost impossible for players above the age range to pass. Simple point. One year from now, you will jump into this your false theories. Our Conquering U17 in recent years are within the age limit and did well. No matter how hard it is for you, your uncle theory is wrong. They beat kids from fancy academies. Finito. 2 Likes |

komekn: We could not qualify for the World Cup because there are many things we are getting wrong. Poor support for local coaches. Imposing players on coaches. Forcing players without the desire to represent the country to play for us. Letting a coach without the passion for the team run the team for years with a faulty tactical system with no growth plan. No long term strategy. By the way, the MRI process put in all those factors and your lies have been proven false repeatedly. You only run back to it because you have no point to justify some of your false ideologies. 1 Like |

komekn: Our draw back is not talent but footballing structure. Neymar for instance became a world star playing for Santos in Brazil. He was a star of South America for five years before leaving. Brazil has a strong support system and international repertoire to build their talents. Ravel Morrison was a brilliant talent in Manchester United but fell along the way and Pogba became a Superstar. From your ideology, Ravel Morrison was overage. 1 Like 1 Share |

My point has been simple for years. We need to change our strategy of selecting our players. Enough of this big name selection. If you are in Manchester United, your shirt is guaranteed If you are in Akwa United, there is no hope for you. It is ridiculous and has kept us back. The Europeans build their own first. So, we will never have a comprehensive selection of players from calling big players in Europe. We need a more thorough system. A system where a brilliant talent in the feeders team of Gombe United can play for the Super Eagles. We need a system where every league is not left out, and the screening is continuous. We need to have a team of scouts that can spot a talent and know he is special. Just as Babawo Mohammed and Kashimawo Laloko saw Mikel and knew they found a gem. That is a boy playing on the streets. Later he win the Champions League in Europe, Multiple premier league titles, Olympic silver and Bronze medals and the AFCON. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: You are changing the narrative and the goal posts. You me at go to a very poor quality school with poor quality teachers and somehow come out with the best result and get to Oxford. There will always be exceptions no matter how bad the circumstances, with God absolutely anything is possible, God still does Miracles. But we are not talking about the exceptions but the general rule. You will not plant corn and harvest Yam. You cannot use th exceptions to determine the rule. |

We need to have a playing football system that cuts across our teams. It has to be a system of high intensity and ferocious pressing. This will help cut out players that don't put in the work. It will help keep so called experienced players that literally slow us from playing or getting called up. We need a system that will require creative midfielders that can think and move the ball fast. This will stop us from having backward thinking midfielders that can only run marathon. |

Oasis007:Firstly, when you state an opinion, you need to stand by it and present your facts to back it up. Victimizing yourself by saying you were trolled or attacked is the reason why you shouldn't attempt to argue in the first place. So because the current players have not achieved anything, we should now turn to the home based. Saying they should be attending training twice a month doesn't make sense to me. You want us to bank on players that already set their mind on leaving the country. Does that sound like a feasible plan to you? Moreso, NPFL and CAF competitions will be ongoing. How do you want the NFF to fix this training in-between those competitions. You mentioned Endrick right? Can you compare the league he is currently playing in to NPFL? Bro...your suggestion is respected but it has a lot of loophole. The main thing now is to find the root of our NT problems and find suitable solutions. Lack of players is not our problem.... Coaching and leadership is. |

komekn: There is no change of narrative. It is a fact. We have exceptional talents. We need to find them and nurture them. Give them the exposure and they can grow from there. Not because they are not kids in fancy academies, mean their lives are over. With dedication, hard work and willingness to learn, they can grow. With a better structured coaching system, genuine talents can flourish like Yaya Toure who was not in any fancy academy as a kid but better than most midfielders in England that grew in fancy academies. |

TheGoodJoe: I would have to literally give you hundreds of names. I was talking with Adidas and they have a dossier of hundreds of players from age 13 , across Europe who they think are going to be the future stars. That dossier had Jude Billingham at 13 on there books. It's very comprehensive and you have multiple people involved in players assessment, who watch them at games and you want me to give you a list. That is something the NFF should be doing. But some will feel it's excluding the local boys in Nigeria and giving advantage to then over local boys . 1 Like |

Oasis makes some interesting points. He may seem extreme and might be misunderstood as one saying, "To hell with the Foreign based!" But I don't think that's his entire point. I am actually open to this idea as long we can make it work and truly pick the best locals that can be tactically synced with the best foreign-based across various team positions. I agree with you on the right mentality needed. The Hunger and the Passion to play for the flag and not the name on your back. But the right mentality must also come with good enough quality from technical and tactical viewpoints. If we have locals who can provide these, then there is nothing wrong at all. We still have diamonds in the local scene for sure. We just have to get our league structure half-right and the rest will follow. I believe if we are open to picking our squad based on the right mix of mentality, quality and tactical sync across the various roles in the Senior National team then Las Las, we would have the best of the very best locals creeping in and providing options in certain roles even though I know the bulk of the team will be dominated by the foreign-based. In the end, our goal is to pick the best in terms of Technical quality, Mentality and their tactical values for the team. But we gotta get our league in order firstly... even if half-rightly. And by this, I also inclusively mean raising the standard financial packages for athletes/players in the league... making all clubs privatised so as they can be run as a proper business entity and not as a government thing. Also these clubs should have properly run feeder teams and academies who compete in Nationally organised age group leagues akin to the quality of the Creative Championship (TCC) or even better.....etc... so much to say...but I pause. Oasis is actually making some sense. Oasis007: 2 Likes 1 Share |

komekn: Go and check that Adidas dossier, many of those kids turned out crap and are playing in conference League and less. It is not a recipe for success. With all their lessons, many kids in Africa will end up better than them. Not knocking the system but saying missing out on such system does not mean end of success. 1 Like |

Waste Man ♂️ partying and drinking following babes etc Guardiola use to ban youth players and or at least frown at it very strongly as a huge distraction that can lead to failure. |

TheSuperNerd: My take is that our national team is made up of people who do not know how to scout. Imagine someone like Babawo Mohammed as head of Super Eagles scouting and the kind of players we can have. He picked Mikel from watching him play on the street. Before taking him to Laloko. Imagine how small Chidera Ejuke was when Babawo Mohammed signed him. The last so called scout of the Super Eagles was even telling players to come to England before they can get a look in. Someone like that would not see a talent in the local league. We need to take scouting and screening seriously. It should cover all leagues. Home and abroad. No one's shirts should be safe in the team. Full fledged competition. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Mujtahida: This is at the heart of the matter and it goes way beyond football. The political structure and framework has disenfranchised a whole nation making oldvand young hopeless and desperately desperate. Peopl have no faith in their nation, apart from footballers nearly everyone wants to JAKPA. Players will rather play in Azerbaijan than Nigeria. Until we sort out our problems the situation will continue ad infinitum. We are in a country where a graduate after borrowing and struggling to finish university can earn in a job 50k a month. Why will he not be corrupt. |

This is it! The Scouting and Screening Department of the National team (IF WE HAVE ONE) should be taken just as seriously as the Technical Crew of the NT. We have a pool of players already known and upcoming talents still unknown. We need thorough scouting year in, year out to enable us keep looking at who and who can come in and uplift the team from technical and tactical viewpoints be they be based at home or abroad. This is not a hard job but it does take a lot of dedication, sincerity and focus. A serious football nation shouldn't be struggling to scout properly even on the local front. At that time Mikel was not nurtured in anyway. As soon as Eguavoen saw him, he was convinced. As soon as Alex Ferguson saw him, he saw brilliance. Mbok, there is great talent. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: It really depends on what you mean by success. I can assure you more than 75% are professional players across Europe . That dossier has the creme de la creme of top potential players in Europe. You may find there are only 3/4 players on that dossier in some EPL clubs and some have none. You are making wild assumptions not based on experience of engagement but what, I really don't know. |
