It was alleged that the funds were used to fund terrorism.

That's enough for the DSS to step in
This is a very serious accusation that shouldn't be taken lightly. I suspect there is a hint of truth in all the mans been accused of. He can easily come out to debunk them and institute a libel case against his accusers.

The word alleged.

What possible ties does emifiele have to terrorism?

This is the same way they were trying to smear Sanusi when he fell out with GEJ. At least Sanusi is a Northen Muslim so you can try to claim he is sympathetic to bh.

Who is Emefiele aligning with?
Ugm/ipob?
Mend?
BH?

Doesn't make sense to me

Are you saying you know better than the DSS, sir? grin

One of the biggest indictments of Buhari is Nigeria turning into a police state where all agencies are acting outside their jurisdiction. Wetin concern DSS with Emeifele diverting funds? That is financial crime and that is efcc? Same way DSS were actually monitoring petrol stations.

You have to wonder exactly what kind of clowns are running these operations.

I think Buhari is surrounded by like-minded persons. That's why u will see DSS invading the house of a judge, EFCC will be destroying the property of people to gain access to their premises without signed warrant , etc. And in the midst of all that and more the president just dey look on make any agency wey wan kill each others off themselves. grin

The fact it's head scratching to think Emefiele might be involved in terorrism financing ; is the same reason the accusation shouldn't be taken lightly.

DSS did not just accuse him on the pages of newspaper, they filled a case before a high court judge requesting for his arrest warrant. That suggests they have some information we may not have. However, if it's just a smear campaign like u suggested then heads should roll in the DSS starting from the DG who made the big move. Accusing a sitting CBN governor(who is in charge of our monetary policy, knows the amount of money in circulation etc) of terrorism financing should not just be trivialized o.

An agency that is deploying agents to monitor sales in petrol stations (Las Las another operational tax) is an agency that knows what it is doing?

What is the function of dpr or nasdra or whatever they call themselves now?

Same way they were capping nonsense about ordering nnpc to release fuel into the market.

Let me stop before I post something tribalist

And very importantly,Tinubu has continually reiterated he would continue with Buhari's legacies as none of them are bad.
These people on this thread support him - let that sink in.

Emefiele was incompetent as a CBN governor but financing terrorism seems far fetched and impossible

But if anyone told you a serving CBN governor would be buying form to contest presidency you would think it's also far fetched and impossible

In the current Naija anything goes

This is exactly my point . Nigeria is one of the most terrorized countries in the world and the head of Secret service wakes up one morning requesting a judge to order the arrest of the CBN governor for being involved in terrorism financing .

It should be a major concern to us o.

So much for social consciousness.

Then again, the only socially conscious artistes of these times are the late sound sultan, eedris (whose career was fked over), Femi kuti and I guess Seun kuti.

The rest are opportunist clout chasers. I am sure we can remember Charlie boy collecting money from keyamo in 2019.

This would be accurate if in Naija there is consequences for getting it so wrong for those in Authority, Sanusi 50 abi 20 billion comes to mind; people can say anything without facing serious consequence, we have since been told that the govt know the financiers of terroism till date nothing has happened, cabals nko? So I dont expect much to come out from this current furore? na just 2 idiots causing nuisance... Nigeria is not a serious country.

Emefiele is a "drowning man", so they're most likely looking for how to use the guy as the scapegoat for the problem of insecurity that's become synonymous with the Buhari government so it looks like they're working.

Who better to use as a scapegoat than an Emefiele; he's incompetent, power-hungry, the public hates him and of course, he's an Igbo man cheesy.

Nigeria na annoying country sha. They will tell u working class in the financial services to report cash, transfer or any kind of funds above certain threshold to NFIU/AML, yet VIP's dey launder money steady on a daily basis.

I won't be surprised if Emefiele while helping his friends helped himself too and some of the money got traced to the wrong hands as u suggested.

That Dasuki gate is shameful to even think some of the monies got transferred to people for "spiritual consultation" on facing terrorism.
