When you start hearing a rumbling sound or noise coming from any of your car's wheels when on speed, note that it is most likely that your car's wheel hub has gotten bad. You will have to replace the wheel hub or put in bearings to fix the issue.

But because it is hard getting quality wheel hubs even at
reasonable prices in Nigeria, most people prefer to buy the
so-called foreign use, a.k.a tokunbo, instead of going for a
new one or they put bearings in the faulty one since the
bearings generally break.

Buying a tokunbo wheel hub could be a waste of money
because one cannot forecast how long it will last plus, some
sellers put new bearings into spoilt OEM wheel hubs and
package them as tokunbo. Put bearing is not even the issue
but the quality of the bearings used is the prominent bone
of contention; before you know it, the bearings have worn
out after driving the car for a while.

What do you think is the best option to fix a bad wheel hub issue?

I was faced with the same issue sometime ago
They advised me to put Japanese bearing instead of complete Tokunbo hub
But the so called Japanese bearing didn't last for 3 months.

Sorry about that. It depends on the quality of the bearing you put.

I was in this situation January this year, I was advised by my machanist to replace with Tokubo hub which I did. but unfortunately, less than a month the noise came back I took my old hub to fix new bearing into it since then it has been working well.

Sorry to hear that. But the issue could be dicey.

How many months have you been using the hub you put bearing?

You could change the bearings but they wont last. Best to just buy brand new hubs or direct belgium instead of wasting money to change bearings

Get a brand new wheel hub.... I know they are lot of knock off parts flooding the market for Lexus, Toyota & Honda, Always look for a trusted spare part dealer to get original OEM parts

One of my car (Saturn vue) hardly has fake parts maybe probably people are not driving much of the brand in Nigeria, trust me i have peace of mind buying my parts because i know i get the original, Sometimes i order from eBay when its not available in Nigeria

This is very good. The advantage you have is that you are driving a car which is not common.
