A follow-up to Afghanistan: Taliban Ban Women From University Education With Immediate Effect Qatar Expresses Deep Concern, Disappointment over Decision to Suspend Study of Girls, Women in Afghanistan's Universities Ministry of Foreign Affairs - State of Qatar Pakistan urges Afghan authorities to revisit the decision to suspend university and higher education for female students in Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Islamic Republic of Pakistan THE UNITED ARAB EMIRATES CONDEMNS THE TALIBAN’S DECISION TO BAN GIRLS FROM HIGHER EDUCATION Ministry of Foreign Affairs - United Arab Emirates Press Release Regarding the ban on Higher Education for Girls in Afghanistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Republic of Turkiye The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s surprise and regret at the decision of the #Afghan caretaker Government to deny Afghan girls the right to university education, and calls on it to reverse this decision, which is shocking to all Islamic countries and is contrary to giving Afghan women their full legitimate rights, foremost of which is the right to education, which contributes to supporting security, stability, development and prosperity for Afghanistan. Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Saudi Arabia Malala, others condemn ban Banning the education of girls 16+ is a clear violation of human rights, but it can also doom the economic future of Afghanistan, relegating half of its people to a life of poverty and ignorance. Dr. Abdel Aziz Hamad Aluwaisheg (Assistant Secretary-General, Gulf Co-operation Council) The Gulf Co-operation Council - GCC comprises Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The Taliban administration took a decision banning female students from entering universities in Afghanistan. Ibrahim Kalin (Turkiye's Presidential Spokesperson) The Taliban may lock all the classrooms and university gates in the country — but they can never lock up women's minds. They cannot stop girls from seeking knowledge. They cannot kill the quest to learn. Malala 10 Likes 3 Shares

Islam rightly stress to parents on equal treatment of girls' from the shows of love and affection to financial gift as well. Education of girl's is emphasized in many of Al-Hadiths. The Prophet Muhammad (s.m) said: “Seeking knowledge is compulsory for every Muslim” (Al-Bukhari-9). Taliban should reverse this barbaric law. 23 Likes 3 Shares |

According to some dude who prolly knows better than everyone. No one should interfere in the barbaric act of Taliban even now that Qatar and other Muslim community has condemned the act. How do you justify misogyny and sexism against women? 1) Islamic courts are controlled by men. 2) Woman doesn't have the right to divorce and must seek a court to grant her divorce for specific reasons other then her just wanting to be divorced or dissatisfaction with the marriage while while the man has the right to divorce. 3) Women must obey the husband 4) Women must seek permission to go somewhere from the husband. The following hadith I believe exists in both Sunni and Shia sources: A woman came to the Messenger of Allāh صلى الله عليه واله and said: O’ Messenger of Allāh! What is the right of the husband over the wife? He said to her: She obeys him and does not disobey him, does not give anything in charity from her house except with his permission, she does not keep a voluntary fast without his permission and does not prevent him from herself even if she be on hunchback. She does not leave her house but with his permission; if she leaves without his permission, the angels of the heaven, the angels of the earth, the angels of wrath and the angels of mercy damn her until she returns to her house. So she said: O’ Messenger of Allāh! Who among the people has the greatest right on the man? He said: His parents. She said: Who among the people has the greatest right over the woman? He said: Her husband. She said: So do I have a right over him similar to what he has over me? He said: No, not [even] one in a hundred! She said: By the One Who sent you as a Prophet with the truth, no man shall ever own my neck. These points where taken from religious scriptures of islam, hence proves islam to be sexist. Sounds like slavery to me. Ooh, bud it is! 53 Likes 6 Shares

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ty9pC07o9e0 Another show of support for female university students came at Nangarhar Medical University. The male students walked out in solidarity and refused to sit for exams until women’s university access was reinstated. (Students of the University in Kandahar also walked out and refused to sit for exams until the women are brought back to school)Video: https://twitter.com/HabibKhanT/status/1605505055167324160?t=NDz5qnyOxwnjDeWZH7ONSw&s=19 1 Like

Mixing culture with religion. These fools in Afghanistan have historically have very regards for women and are simply using religion as a pretext to keep their women down. Bunch of delusional fools. 49 Likes 3 Shares |

I’ve encountered nothing in the Quran or ahadith that forbids the education of females. So Islam, as informed by the Quran and ahadith, does not forbid it. However, Islam is more than just its core texts. It’s also its traditions, history and adherents. And that’s where Islam, in some countries, interferes with the education of females. In theory, if ahadith contradicts the Quran, the Quran prevails. Yet, in many Islamic countries, the traditional penalty for adultery is being stoned to death — despite the fact that the Quran specifies only whipping. This is because the traditional pre-Islamic penalty was stoning . . . so the penalty was brought back, by popular demand, in direct contradiction of the Quran. The same applies to education of females. In many Islamic countries it’s part of the traditional subjugation of women that existed long before Muhammad(S.A.W). The plight of women was actually improved, somewhat, by Muhammad(S.A.W). The problem is that it’s improved far more in the free world . . . while the subjugation of women in many Islamic countries remains chained to 1400-year old Islamic texts and even older traditions. We all know Malala’s incredibly heroic story: shot through the head for advocating female education, recovering, then going on to win the Nobel Peace Prize. At such a young age, she’s the preeminent spokesperson for female education. Some adherents, though not as extreme as Malala’s would-be executioner, are more regressive than others. Some even see no contradiction in shooting a child in the name of their religious traditions. Tradition can be more powerful than scripture and even directly overrule it. Does Islam forbid the education of women? For far too many Muslims, the traditional (not scriptural) answer is yes. 9 Likes 2 Shares |
