Pls is it the best or the fastest portal in terms of visa decision?

And how can one get the link to the old portal?

I don’t think there’s anything like fast portal..just follow the processing time which is about 12 weeks

Profgordons:

You don’t need to send any mail to IRCC oh! Get your visa, then move. As long as you did not change school, you are good. Also don’t buy any insurance from Nigeria, it will be useless, you only need it if you are dead. You should use your school’s health insurance, it is very very very very important.

Ok thanks

Please oh. Those that it took long before IRCC returned their passports back to them, how did you handle the situation? Submitted since December 7, last update is that it is under process at the IRCC Office, which was sent on December 8.

School is resuming January 3, flight has been booked for January 1 to arrive on January 2 yet these people haven't returned the passport. Called and mailed VFS multiple times but they said it's at IRCC and there's nothing they can do. They can't even give estimated return timeline.

Also sent several webforms and emails, yet nothing! Please help

What's the name of her school?. It all depends on the school. Some school have a policy of not reversing back to an earlier intake once you have deferred.
NGOZIGLORI:
Because of the delay in the Visa approval and the deadline from the school on 15th December to indicate if she was resuming or apply for deferment. We applied for the deferment and a new LOA for September semester was sent to her on Thursday morning only for the visa to come out that night

She has sent email to the school telling them that as her visa has been approved that she will be coming in January. Hope this is okay?

I want on Friday to submit her passport on her behalf and they have sent her the tracking number
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by bullstriker: 7:47pm On Dec 24, 2022
1. I recommend you defer the admission to September. If your application is approved before December 31, you can quickly inform the school; I doubt your request will be granted before December 31.

2. Most likely, but they don’t always ask

3. It's unlikely they will request for updated POF if you defer. IRCC usually ask for updated POF when they suspect you inflated the account or the application has taken longer to process. They want to ensure the funds are still available.

4. Contact your school for the deadlines to register or drop classes. You will not have any issues at the port of entry if you do not change the program and school.

5. Contact your school.

6. Contact your school.

7. I believe it will not slow the processing time.
A month prior to the start date is advised if you don’t have a justifiable reason to arrive months before your start date.

ChubaKC:
Good morning everyone,
Please I need your advice on this. I completed my medicals but yet to get medical pass for remaining 4 out of 6 family applications. My PhD admission and RA appointment is for January 5th start and have till 31st December to confirm my attendance for the winter start/defer my admission.
1) Is it advisable that I defer my admission to the next start which is September 023 or wait till study permit outcome

2) if I did not defer, will IRCC request for a new admission and updated appointment letter after the winter start?

3) If I defer will IRCC still regard my appointment as part of POF?

4) If I confirm to attend the winter session, register for the winter courses but encounter a delay in the approval of my study permit, will I be allowed to catch up (or drop) classes within the term or register for classes in subsequent term when my permit is finally approved? And what happens at port of entry

5) If I defer my admission and perhaps a few days/weeks later my study permit is approved, will I be able to withdraw my deferral request?

6) What is my fate regarding my appointment offer in either cases. How possible to secure new appointment?

7) if I defer to September and update IRCC, will they continue processing my application or slow the process. And if approved early, is it possible to travel months before school start?

Am full of thoughts, can’t sleep either.

They are of school age, so you should apply for study permits. You can apply now or wait till you get to Canada. However, if you explicitly stated that the kids would be in Nigeria while you are studying in Canada, I would advise you to apply after she receives her study permit and enrolls full-time (a copy of the study permit and proof of full-time enrolment will be required), especially if you intend to use the same bank statement and the funds are insufficient for a principal applicant and 3 accompanying dependents.

Did you use the first line: URGENT? If yes, send another web form. This time, select technical difficulties. To do this, answer “No” to Have you submitted an application for….” and complete the form. Again, ensure you use urgent on the first line. All the best.

Good afternoon gurus in the house,
I happen to be a salent reader on this platform
Myself and my sister applied to cape breton university, but unfortunately mine was refused all glory be to God my sister application was approved.

Here is her timeline

Application submitted - August 5 , 2022
Upfront medical- November 18, 2022
Ppr - December 1

Now, she is having two issues:
1. She' s a single mother and she wants to go with her children (Age- 12, 10and 7).
2. Her visa is out but her status has not been updated,
She submitted her passport immediately, after two weeks vfs send her message that her passport is ready for collection. We were all scared because her application status on her portal has not been updated to Application Approved and correspondence letter has not drop.
To God be the glory, she collected her passport and the visa was on it. We have sent several mail and we form, but they have not responded up till now .

Dear gurus in the house,
What is the next line of action?
For the mother ?
And
How do we package the visiting permit visa for the three kids?
Thank you my wonderful people and God bless you

Then make use of that as long as it’s stamped without student copy written on it

You will not be able to fund your gic account from your naira account. I'm not sure if this can be done via form A, however, you can do this from a USD Dom account.

August 16th applicant.
Medical passed September 16th.
Since then nothing from them. I have seen a lot of August applicants getting PPR. I just wonder when God will remember me. It’s so frustrating .

Hello gurus in the house, I studied agriculture and I want to go to Canada for masters but my friend is telling me that before I can apply for any school in Canada I have to have up to 10m in my account, is that true ? I just want to know if there are some schools I can pay maybe half tuition I don’t have up to 10m I have like 4m will this take me to Canada?

Well I am assuming you are planning to for for a masters and looking at worst case scenario without a scholarship your friend is right 4m will not be enough at all and that is even excluding the application payments, Medicals, ielts etc that are associated with your application. I think a good start is for you to do a research on which schools you want to apply to and look at their tuition plus living expenses and convert it using the black market rate to naira then you have an idea of how much you are looking for. Having said that all hope is not lost and there has been a lot of suggestions in this group on how to go about the financing. Take some time to read up. All the best.
