You conclusion of will do better gives an impression that everyone who has left Nigeria are doing better, but you know this is not correct. There are people who have left and are not faring better where they currently relocated to.

If you do things the right way and get your papers correctly, you will enjoy abroad. Problem is most Nigerians are always looking for shortcuts and end up getting their lives tangled up. Don't enter another country on a visiting visa and expect to start working in a bank the following week. Overstaying on an expired visa is another big issue for a lot of Nigerians abroad.

Mumu ! Go seek knowledge on how many people a being killed everyday in the US because of their Gun policy ! Go check statistics . Rubbissshhhhhh Talk !

I still feel safer in the USA than in Nigeria. That's the bottom line for me. The gun policy of the USA is largely responsible for that. It's rare for armed robbers to besiege anyone at home in the USA, something very common in Nigeria with your strict gun laws grin

I can leave my home at 2am and drive 8 hours to New York or even set out to California 3,000 miles away and drive nights with NO FEAR.

I wouldn't dare in Nigeria. Neither would you.

I like the fact that we are now dotting the Is and crossing the Ts. If you do everything right!!! If Nigerians are to do everything right, how many will be allowed to leave? In fact if Nigerians have been doing things right, we will all not be needing to run out of the country.

Everyone who leaves Nigeria and arrives in an Anglo-Western nation is automatically better off. Even being in a FEDERAL PRISON in the
USA is likely a better standard of living than the bottom 30% of Nigerians. I've been to slums in Nigeria and I know how people live there.

A person has to be very physically or mentally disabled not to make a better life in the USA, UK, Australia, NZ or Canada than what they left behind in Nigeria. Yes it can happen to a normal person but the chances are LOW, very low! We're taking stock of PROBABILITY, not absolutes.

Only 0.5% of Nigerians earn over ₦200K per month. Anyone can save that in the USA or UK every month. It's as easy as breathing.

Nigeria is in extremis. I hope it gets better but the portents are just not good. Good Luck to everyone.see

Your opinion, maybe based on your experience. Since I am not privy to your life experiences, I won't comment further.

Stay and build Nigeria when urchins have vowed with their lives never to allow building or development of Nigeria. They did it in 2015, I know a lot of them here, and they are striving to do it again next year. They are on the mission to forcefully shove failures down our throat, so that the masses will continue languishing in poverty, hunger and starvation.
The popular urchins here have remained relentless since 2015 they are simply wicked praising Buhari and trying to foist Tinubu on us

Depends on what you call "means".

I left Nigeria at 16. My plane ticket was bought with borrowed money. At the time I left Nigeria my family was eating 2 meals a day. My father was riding a bicycle. My parents combined income was $200 per month in Nigeria. I only detail these up because most of these discussions are too abstract, especially with very few using their real names.

Would I have done better staying in Nigeria? I can tell you from close observation and experience...the answer is NO. I've been through this on other threads sha so, whatever.

The core of my contribution here is that except for the top 0.05% of income earners, ANYONE else who has the opportunity will do better if they leave Nigeria for any Anglo-Western country. And by doing better I mean in EVERY facet of existence.

That is why President Buhari, GCFR has lived in UK and Spain with his family for the past 30 to 40 years. He knows Nigeria better than me.

Anyone who has the means should leave. If you CAN'T LEAVE that's another story. It's a monumental error to stay in Nigeria if you're not at the very top of the wealth scale. The future, going by the EVIDENCE, is very bleak.

Have a good day.

Hmmm... Well said but it all depends on the money factor.. Even if you leaving for Togo, you still need to have some changes in your wallet. Is it someone that hadn't eaten for 2 days that he will think of travelling? From passport to embassy appointment to flight ticket to medicals amongst others.

Bros lets be honest, to jaapa is not as sweet as they made us to believe

Are you living in Nigeria or in Togo? Over 200 million people here, don't you think it's a huge market? Won't you start here first before you go international? Or you want me to give you a list of naira millionaires? Some of you are just far from reality. If you want to japa, then japa. But there home made billionaires who will buy your entire net worth after staying abroad for 10 years. You people should be deceiving yourselves that abroad is the only path to success.

You're are not very bright.

The billionaires in Nigeria are the literal 0.9 percent of the population.

Your country is only as good as the working class are.

A person that his or her business is doing well in nigeria tick almost all you listed.
Many people with little education are doing well as market men and women.

Dont sell your properties to go abroad, you will surely regret it.
Where are you going to start when you reach abroad?
Where?

Yes, but what percentage of Nigerians are "doing well?" That's the real question that puts the situation in proper perspective.

SexyBabe001:

Actually migrating abroad, especially to Anglo-Western nations, is much sweeter than most will admit. The problem is when you migrate and talk too much about it, it comes out as arrogant. I understand, but it's important to tell the TRUTH, always.

What percentage of Nigerians have the basic standard of living in Nigeria? They would almost certainly be better of in US, UK, NZ or Australia or Canada.

I think this applies to those who have not legalised their documents.
If you are in a position to say people abroad are not doing that well then you must have at least N40M in your bank b4 you can make such assumption. What I can agree with you here is tis and simple. Do not think there is automatic money here, you must graft it.You work for your money then this is the best one, We all have equal opportunity at the start! For every profession you do in Nigeria if you do them abroad your life will be definitely better. You can only smile in Nigeria if you have money and to do so one must have i initial capital, Where do you get this from?

I already dusted this on previous threads. Even illegal immigrants are likely to eventually do much better than they would if they'd remained in Nigeria. I started out working illegally in the USA. I know MANY, MANY people who started off as illegal immigrants to the USA.

Read and learn.
