SeriouslySense: excuses. The things you pray for in Nigeria are available abroad is a very poorly thought out excuse. For one, it's only Nigerian christianity that sees god as a thing to beg perpetually. When westerners where religious what was not their approach. Nigerians see God as a casino. They will go there and insert prayers. If something good happens to them, they will go gamble more, if something bad happens, it's because they're not gambling enough. It is a mental illness and a gambling addiction. People are not religious in the west because they are educated. Real education not 'Igbos come from Israel, Awolowo transformed into a fly' that they will be telling ppl in NIgerian schools. They know that life didn't begin in israel, but africa. They know that that bible does not account for that laso 200 years worth of scientific discovery. They know that Christianity is a conquest weapon made to make conquered people worship their white rulers. Did you know that the people who set up the colony of Nigeria were not Christians? Lugard and them did not attend Church or believe in god. They simply knew what that book does to a human brain. Therefore if they want something done they do it. The rules are not different in Nigerian, Nigerians just happen to choose stupidity, laziness, and gambling. Nigerians have an unhealthy relationship with religion and it's because they're addicted unlike others. 4 Likes |

Nigga is right. The things we pray for here are basic amenities in civilized countries. I remember when Rochas was lamenting that the rain that fell in Owerri was evil which was why it destroyed the roads he constructed. Some people might have prayed against the rain not knowing that the fool was doing shallow jobs. 2 Likes |

Interesting, most of your deductions and interactions are perspectively true. But a little clarification. Church is not the problem. It is you who sit in the Church but never know the true Church Jesus talked about. Study your scripture, many won't. All by his Grace. The issue is not loosing interest in God, the real issue is that many sitting in Church are not really Christians. It is the nature/lifestyle of Christ Jesus in you that makes you a Christian. So, Church is not a pastor, not your gra gra prayers, not your highest donation, not olive oil etc Church ought to be a place of Communion, that is, a place where you come to pour your heart before your Creator. Where you chat with Him, where you understand the season and know the next assignment. This can take place in a common building or your home etc. Because many never knew about these, but have defined Church based on what you get here or can make here on earth. So, upon relocation, they'll easily found access to those things they needed, hence no need to call on God again because their Church definition and the essence of attending has been met. If your love for God grows cold abroad, the real issue is with you. And you're headed to something strange. READ IT AGAIN ....... Now, this one is for you that truly love God. Do not be deceived. The real problem is not location. Know God and stand firm to keep honouring Hi m anywhere. Prayerfully, still engage God. But before relocation, know again that Church is not pastor, not your shout or calmness, not your village people attack prayers. When you truly desire God and he reveals himself to you, you will understand properly what I am saying. Addition: if to give you all you need will make you to leave God, Satan will be happy about that. Read it again. Also, If to put you under hardship leaders will make you to leave God, he will also be happy. In nutshell, despite location, understand God. Have the mind of Christ. Prayerfully but correctly engage God daily and do your daily activities. With right understanding, you won't grow cold, you won't hate Church going, neither will you subscribe to being forced to attend Church. Neither will you condemn others but bring the Truth to them. Very soon, you will understand that the target of all these subtle postulations is to adulterate your believe in God. Beware. Final of it all:: NEVER ANCHOR your pursuit for God on the things or material things you need, perhaps due to poverty, because when things get better or you found yourself in an environ with such provisions, you will forget God. 1 Corinthians 15:19 If the only benefit of our hope in Christ is limited to this life on earth, we deserve to be pitied more than all others! 1 Like 2 Shares |

Nigerians are too religious, yet very corrupt. The perpetrators of corruption are the practitioners of religion. And they are Christians and Moslems. The reason is because they are too religious, not spiritual. 1 Like |

Nairalander248: While it's possible for Peter Obi to turn the fortunes of Nigeria around, I would advise that you lower your expectations to avoid further heartaches. One thing to note about a political party coming into power is that, the party rules the nation, not the one leading it. Peter Obi is the flagbearer of a political party (I'm not sure of the name of the party, I'm Ghanaian) hence he would have so much favour to give out. He needs to sought out all the big guns who are playing major roles in his campaigns. Not forgetting all the celebrities who are rooting for him. Each and everyone of them will have to be fixed somewhere. It's politics. Do not trust a politician with your heart. |

Religion is a difficult topic, since it sometimes invokes a very strong reaction. Religion itself is not bad, its how it is used and interpreted. Religion has been used to exploit people for business centers, or use people as weapons in politics and conquest. I dont have a problem with religion, its ignorance that causes people to be susceptible to misuse and misapplications. I wonder why people cannot be decent, do their religion and live in harmony with others irrespective of their beliefs. Before any thing is harmony which is supposed to be supported by religion, but before religion, people need to be wise ( the ability to think soundly) or predisposed to order, which starts from the family or home training. In our society parents sometimes do not have values or do not have time for their children, the society does not have values too and they abandoned and learn from street thugs and fanatics or without a healthy compass No one is immune to a deprecating mentality or the return to the wild animal mentality, irrespective of believes, whether religious or atheistic, the home is the first and most important place to transmit values that bring harmony, love and healthy community. Even a purely Atheistic society is bound to collapse without a stable compass, religion could serve as a stable compass, without its fanaticism which excludes healthy thinking, so are the values that brings harmony. Apart from religion, we have lost our values that brought us harmony, that were already existing before religion came, the values of community, of helping each other and having genuine affection. The western world is not immune and may not be prepared to handle the immense advancement they are developing without a stable compass. The values of harmony comes first, it is what authenticates and keeps us safe as changes occurs through time. Ofodirinwa: 1 Like |

It only tells the reason why you are serving God and hence those needs are mate you gets tired. 1samuel 2:6-7 God is one that makes Rich or poor besides, John 1:3-4 nothing that exist in this world that was not made by him even those comfort. Somebody that travels abroad will die one day and it will done on you "naked you come into this world and naked you shall return" and the question mark confronting you is what is your relationship with your God Hebrew 9:27. If it's in this world you have hope in Christ you are just miserable. There are people that was born abroad still spiritual than you that just came serving God, praying for the best in midst of plenty. What God has called us into is more than these no wonder he said is difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God because he will love the riches and forgot the one who giveth it. Repent and come back to God 2 Likes 1 Share |

SeriouslySense: Every society that has currently not collapsed is atheistic. The exception is Saudi Arabia and UAE if that's the life you want. Christians do not have any intention of living in harmony with others. How many shrines and traditional institutions are demonized and destroyed by the church in Nigeria? We have lost our values because of church. Everything that gives use value the church is against. Everything that glorifies foreigners the church is for, but if you go to those foriegn lands, they're not going to church. They will even arrest you in the UK if you're preaching in the street. But go to Nigeria and see british founded churches up and down. what does that tell you? Imagine somebody serving you food they refuse to eat and refuse to have served to their own children, but you are eating it and clapping singing that you're whiter than white. All of the best countries in the world are atheistic. All of the poorest countries in the world and more violent war-torn countries are also the most religious. Nigeria has the highest concentration of religious buildings in the world, and also has the highest concentration of un-related armed conflicts, and highest concentration of poor people. 1 Like |

Religion is not necessarily bad but whatever is being practiced in Nigeria by Nigerians is objectively horrible. I can confidently tell you as somebody that provides jobs in Nigeria, that most Nigerians are not hirable and the main issue is religion followed by laziness. The ones that work hard are even the ones that are the most religious. And if it was going to church on sunday that is fine, but this one where ppl will give their entire paycheck to the church and come to their employer begging for money, or need to go to church during work hours is sick. 2 Likes |
