Ofodirinwa: I’ve passed roads built by Hope, it’s clean and well marked, most Junctions looks nice and standard, that’s all I know of his works aside the damn killings happening under him. Some of what you guys posted here drew me to IMO state Things I saw way back from the lively settings Rochas organized, I felt the need to relocate and run small businesses in Imo state, whereas I’m very far from being an IMO state dude. You guys did me dirty sincerely lol the insecurity now made me regret establishing here, although the businesses flourished during Rochas, but when Ihedioha came in, most of my clients from North Central started relocating back to either ABJ or PH mostly, I was still trying my best until Uzodimma came on board lol, I’ve seen his quality projects to be sincere, but the killings under his nose made everywhere a mess. I’m boxed within Owerri Municipal, World Bank, PH rd and other places like Orji, nekede, akwakuma and other LOWKEY places prone to attacks, I stir clear, just drive by as fast as I can to avoid stories for my family lol I wish the fun Owerri of the past would wake up again. PH is my base now, Awka is cool, but they don’t have ballers mentality like Owerri, Eyes on Abakiliki and Coal city. Sorry for the typos lol, Ps: why did you stop posting nice pictures Ofodiri? 1 Like |

Nchenches:Your points are spot on, very apt and damn the Banana Junction reference is some scary eye opener I never thought of. But I don’t encourage politics of hate, build and destroy. It’s the only reason why I dislike Ihedioha for demolishing those beautiful spots in Warehouse, Akachi and even threatened to demolish the beautiful Akachi estate, I for curse una people if una allow such madness. Build and maintain and not destroy 2 Likes |

For those that have questions for the governor You can ask him directly. Make sure you participate ooo UZODIMMA LEADS THE WAY IN TRANSPARENT AND ACCOUNTABLE GOVERNANCE. In keeping with Governor Hope Uzodimma's resolve to run an open, transparent and accountable administration, all stakeholders and the general public are by this notice informed that the 7th edition of the regular meeting of the Imo State Stakeholders Forum will hold on Thursday, January 5th, 2023. In line with what has become the tradition of this administration, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Imo State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, will use the auspicious occasion to render an updated account of his stewardship to Imo people since the last stakeholders meeting. However, since the meeting will almost coincide with the third anniversary of Governor Uzodimma’s administration, the governor will also use the occasion to brief the stakeholders on his achievements in the last three years. Thereafter, he would also share his vision for the future. Before then, His Excellency will on January 4th, 2023 host a three-hour live phone-in programme with all private and public radio stations in the state. This will also be streamed live online to give Imo people – including those in the diaspora – the opportunity to seek clarifications and ask questions on all aspects of the governance of the state. Civil society organizations, trade unions, students, market associations, road transport unions and other interest groups will be invited to witness and participate in the live phone-in programme. This is a unique and novel town hall meeting arrangement which seeks to engage virtually every stratum of the society in an interactive session with their Governor, in keeping with Senator Uzodimma's avowed determination to remain transparent and accountable to the people of the state. This ceremony will hold in the afternoon of Wednesday, 4th January 2023. It will be followed later in the day by the ceremony for the presentation of the awards for the Second Governor Hope Uzodimma Annual Awards for Media Excellence, for practising Journalists in the state. The maiden edition of the awards was held in 2021. His Excellency will also use the occasion of the awards to host a dinner in honour of all |

It is Uzodinma and all the governors that have ever ruled imo state that are slowpokes. You are worried about a progressive Soludo but you aren't bothered Okoroawusa that wasted eight years with almost nothing to show except lic.king Fulani a.ss for the entire time, with the hope that he will be given the presidency on the plater of gold. Imo state budget 2023 PDF https://www.imostate.gov.ng/IMSG/Common/Services/SFTAS_1?ID=2023_3 After studying the budget Key salient points are thus: * Imo state government will rehabilitate the flyovers for 4.2billion * New refinery project in the offling * Multi level carpark will be completed * Centenary tower project is been reactivated probably a PPP * Pipeline construction to industrial layout * Onitsha industrial layout to rehabilitated * IICC will be rehabilitated for 1.5bn * Improved road construction especially economic routes and markets. * New market at okigwe. * Specialized hospitals like psychiatric etc * I00m for abandoned hospitals probably a PPP arrangement. * Relocation of police HQ and prison is assured with 60m. * Export processing zone and agriculture processing zone. * Industrial park at ohaji in focus. * Leather market Ngor okpala. *Imo FTZ Ngor okpala * Prospects in SPP and Dams. Overall the budget is good, am very happy with the team that produced it, but exclusion of Okigwe Orlu road speaks volume. Kudos to Onwa Oyoko and his Economic team. 4 Likes |

Our issue is not a lack of development, but the nonsense we consider development. Look at all the money wasted on flyovers, and not 1 flyover in Owerri is necessary. All of them are just vanity projects to show 'the government is working'. Every year that amount will increase and that's not worth the benefit of not having to stop at a stop light for 15 seconds. 1 Like |

Govt60: Orlu was not mentioned anwhere in the budget. Another attestation of Hope Uzodinma's disdain for Orlu; he no longer hides it. Dozens of urban roads in Orlu are no longer passable. Even the Industrial layout he talks about in Owerri, late gov Sam Mbakwe also acquired a large portion of land in Amike, Orlu, for Industrial estate. 1 Like |

Govt60: From the highlights of the budget you posted here, does one need to be told what the A-Z budget will look like? The other day, it was reported here that Hope Uzodinma has closed IMSUTH in Orlu, the only govt institution here, as IMSU no longer admits new students in Medicine. Your reply was that IMSUTH had graduated 3 batches of Doctors under Uzodinma's government. I expected you to verify. 4 Likes |

Govt60:uzodinma knows how to play politics since four years he took over he abandoned all the project started by Rochas. now election is around the corner he is now trying to be nice he even brought the so called korean real estate developers for cheap propaganda. As a wise man I don't think 400 and something billion can do have of what u posted here, because u can't tell me that since he took over his three years budgets was road! road! road! yet we don't have good roads yet. So what I am saying is that if this money can do all this abandoned projects plus new ones added (roads construction) so my question now is where was all this money before now? 3 Likes |

Gunmen Attack Ohakim’s Convoy, Kill Four Policemen Fleeing gunmen on Monday attacked a convoy of a former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, and killed four of his police orderlies in the process. Ohakim’s convoy was attacked at Oriagu in the Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state on Monday evening. Ohakim who escaped by the whiskers had his backup vehicle bombed, leading to the death of the four policemen in his convoy. Our correspondent gathered that Ohakim was with two of his children and was returning from a visit when the gunmen struck. The source said, “his excellency was the main target but his driver was smart enough to beat them because they were driving to block him. “Disappointed that their main target had escaped, they blocked his backup vehicle and burnt it. The four policemen with him burnt.” Our correspondent gathered that a reinforcement came from Owerri, the state capital and escorted him to his house. Ohakim who spoke to our correspondent was sober. https://www.nairaland.com/7507017/gunmen-attack-ohakims-convoy-kill#up

Govt60: As an independent observer, I must state here that Hope Uzodinma is an insincere man. That man had 4 years to start all these projects but didn't. In fact, I am still trying to understand any significant thing he has achieved the past three years. Perhaps you should enlighten me. Just one year to go, he wants to complete all these projects. Some things just don't make any sense. 4 Likes |

Nchenches: Let's stop deceiving ourselves here. I have a neighbour from Orlu who didn't come home this Christmas because of violence in her town. She told me that her mother specifically told her to stay back in Lagos until the atmosphere becomes calm because security operatives are killing young people in their large numbers. Her mother told her that Ebube Agu men, soldiers and unknown gunmen always exchange gunshots almost every day. I don't know why and how things deteriorated to this point, but we have to tell ourselves the truth. If someone from Orlu cannot visit her own home due to insecurity, how do you expect contactors who don't come from there to mobilize to such unsafe places and site projects? The truth is, until Orlu people decide that enough is enough, work with security operatives to fish out the bad eggs in their midst, development will continue to elude that zone. Nothing, I mean nothing, can be achieved in an environment where there's no peace. This is a no-brainer. That's why it is said that the primary responsibility of government is the security of lives and property. No matter how much it hurts, the truth must be told at all times. 1 Like |

SmartPolician: You know when you watch war movies and the war is breaking out and all the women and children are running looking for cover, and the men are fighting. This is what you guys sound like, specifically the women lol. I understand wanting to be safe, but there's something about who weak and freightful the average Nigerian man is right now that's very unnatural and alarming. And they're proudly afraid. Of what use is such a person? Men are afforded a lot of priviledges in most cultures under the pretense that when things like this happen on the homefront, they won't be running around spreading gossip and moaning. Because if the women are doing it, and the children and doing it, and the men are joining them, nothing will ever come of this group of people. But in Nigeria, men have the fiber of 6 year olds but still expect to lord over women and children in the name of be submissive and respect your elders. It's very unnerving, but i think it's because I'm American and culturally this level of 'bitchassness' is very hard to stomach coming from men. Talking about what one women said to another about some men fighting. The ones fighting are fighting for your life. As they are fighting, you're on the internet complaining that the fight is scary. You don't think the ones fighting are afraid? I hope you're (all) contributing more than this. If you believe in Ebubeagu, join them. If you believe in IPOB, join them. If you have no skin in the game stay out (with your mouth and actions). But don't be on the internet complaining that it's loud or scary or ppl can go home and flex december clothes. Because it doesn't end there. One friend I have (also igbo-american) told me he was in Ontisha main market and 4 malnourished boys with sticks held and entire road hostage. Sticks. Not even guns. And everyone was afraid to confront them except the ones that just came from abroad. The men on the road will then go home and start shouting at their wife about being submissive and being a hebrew woman lol. This mentality of taking the benefits and neglecting the duty is why everything in Nigeria looks the way it does. You want to talk about getting things done. Do you know how couragous people behave, and do you know how much courage it takes to 'get things done'. If you don't fight have courage, which shows its self in ones behavior, you can forget about 'getting things done'. You cannot be a coward and comfortableor safe at the same time. There's a proverb that says 'ohu me nke oma, to tuwakwa ujo, o me nke oma, o tuwakwa ujo'. I'm not asking anyone to be a freedom fighter or whatever but at least, as a man, shut up. 1 Like |
