Thank you sir. I just saw another response regards to my question, that my brother do not need to go to the school for the transfer, that the new school can do the transfer via SEVIS website? How true is this information. Again anyone in Oklahoma state university? Rdfactor: |

When I google search, I saw student must register or complete a semester before the transfer can be done. Do you actually know anybody who have succeeded doing 1-20 Transfer without showing up at the school that issue the F1 Visa chibertha: |

Different schools have different requirements. Some schools require the student to complete a semester with them before their Sevis can be transferred to a different school. I would say contact the school or check their website for this information. CallMeByMyName: 2 Likes |

To the best of my knowledge, you can not schedule an interview appointment without paying the Visa fee. You will need the Visa fee receipt when creating a profile to schedule an interview. LawyerBB: |

Most times it's advisable to fill your DS160 yourself that way you can defend your answers and you know what you filled in there. We have had cases here where an agent filled wrong info for an applicant and it ended up costing them. You don't want to be in that position. BigIyanga: 1 Like 1 Share |

CallMeByMyName: LoL. So far you're brother has the old school's SEVIS ID on his Visa , I'm sorry he needs to appear in that school for the transfer in And out process. The officer in charge at the old school will be the one to transfer him out on the date he wants. Let him appear in that school and follow due process. It doesn't hurt to do that, I guess . I even Heard some schools might ask the student to complete a semester, but I've not seen anyone affected by this. |

LawyerBB: I hate to say it but if you’re struggling to gather cash for a visa application fee, how do you think you have money to fend for yourself when you get here? |

CallMeByMyName: Your brother’s visa is tied to the school starting January 3, if your brother does not travel on that visa, he’ll likely need to reapply for another visa. |

CallMeByMyName: Even if someone else got away with it, it won’t help your brother’s case should his actions fail. Telling the administrators that it worked for someone else won’t get him anywhere. They will refer him back to what’s written in black and white. These people have learned all of the tricks before you even try it. Make it easy on yourself, Follow the rules. |

If you are having issues getting a favourable date for interview it would be better to differ your admission to another semester. Always better to plan 6months ahead. 1 Like |

Why is it that there are only few people or none talking about undergraduate visas, are Visas only issued for Masters and PHDs ? 1 Like |

[quote author=eniola1010 post=119406838] The F2 also gets a 2 year visa. He/she is allowed to stay as long as the F1 visa remains valid but is not legally allowed to work. |

Compliment of the season. This is my last post here for 2022, but it should be a form of enlightenment. 1) Your social media handle for visa application, especially for a student visa, should be your LinkedIn profile because it is more professional. 2) The information on your social media should tally with the information on your DS-160 because they run a check on you, and it shouldn't be on your social media you are a graduate, while on DS-160 you are a high school graduate. 3) A good LinkedIn profile, with a well-filled DS-160, and your ability to answer the questions the VO have and convince them of your purpose of traveling to the US for study at this time is a stepping stone to getting the white slip considering the fact the other external factors outside your control will be taken care of. Be careful of what you post on social media! P.S: This just my conviction. 6 Likes 4 Shares |
