Cracks Widen Among G-5 Governors Over Choice Of Presidential Candidate by Deltafirstson(m): 6:18am On Dec 30, 2022 |
Despite media reports that Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has reached an agreement with his fellow governors in the Integrity group on their choice of the presidential candidate to support, THISDAY learnt yesterday that there was no unanimity among the governors. https://www.thisdaylive.com/index.php/2022/12/30/cracks-widen-among-g-5-governors-over-choice-of-presidential-candidate/ 5 Likes 1 Share

Who take G5 gang serious again. I would have taken their fight for equity and fairness serious if they resolved to support peter obi. 198 Likes 18 Shares |

Wike and his dumb political governor friends have now turned to political nuisance in the Nigeria political sphere . Hoping from one meeting to another, now no presidential candidate will take them serious .even peter obi will not take them serious, it is now the so called g5 that needs a place to hide ,they have pushed themselves to a tight corner and atiku has shown wike how politically wiser he is. The silence of atiku and refusal to yeild to wike demands has shown the governors who the boss is within pdp 119 Likes 7 Shares |

More importantly, the threat by the party to expel them if they move to endorse any presidential candidate other than Atiku, may have jolted the recalcitrant group to pause. Should they be expelled by their party, those seeking senatorial seats and the Oyo State governor who is seeking re-election, will lose the right to be on the ballot as they will no longer be candidates of the party going into the elections. Since, there is no provision for independent candidate in the electoral system. Fake news. It is not possible to remove a candidate at this point. Even if the candidate decides to pull out, INEC will still recognize that person and award votes to him/her, nothing will change. This is similar to Peter Obi's new campaign, Osuntokun. He has abandoned his Senate candidacy but because of the time frame, you cannot pull out of the election again. Anything less than 90 days, you are a candidate but force. The PDP's expulsion threat is dead in water 129 Likes 16 Shares |

Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi are foolishly and shamelessly following Wike around like a fly. If they like, let them endorse Tinubu openly or secretly, all that is required to thoroughly embarrass them is for INEC to ensure BIVAS is not manipulated. OBI will so win Abia and Enugu to their utmost disgrace. Even Wike cannot guarantee Rivers except they want to continue the culture of writing results in government houses. Truth is, most people have already made up their minds, all that is required is conducive environment for people to express themselves through their votes. 129 Likes 8 Shares |

I'd think the only one worth negotiating with by Tinubu among the G-5 if need be the it's Wike. Others are worthless It's only Wike that can bring his political sagacity and momentum to an already formidable campaign team of Jagaban. Besides, Makinde and Wike are already inclined to Jagaban. The other three should go team up with another failure Obi. 19 Likes 5 Shares |

This G5 governors are all miscreants. No one takes dem serious again. In fact whoever they choose, their support makes no difference because it is the masses that will decide who their president will be, not these cowards 30 Likes 1 Share |

Nigeria political system is just a mafia business, everybody is busy negotiating their interests, no one is considering the interests of the population. This is just sad. At this point, we wonder why one should keep hoping for a better country when people keep making it difficult for the right people to come in. The best alternative is to japa 18 Likes |

I will advice the G5 in order not to lose their political relevance and get expelled from their party which will geopardize their political career, they should just stay neutral and be watching. 16 Likes 2 Shares |

INEC’s Commissioner for Information and Voter Education, Festus Okoye, told PREMIUM TIMES that no individual or political party can at this point withdraw, submit or substitute the name of any candidate taking part in the 2023 general elections. PDP can only bark but can't do jack 10 Likes 1 Share

Deltafirstson: INEC just said the new DG of LP remains a candidate of ZLP by fire by force as no candidate or party can withdraw or make replacement...if Makinde chooses to openly support Tinubu, he will still be reelected on the platform of PDP...Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi should also feel free to support Obi if they like 3 Likes |
