ShaqFu: That road is a federal.road though. Which is why it remained dead like thar for years. Those days If you followed the road north from the old toll gate to Sango, you would only be drive about 5 minutes before realising you'd run out of road as the Market was literally on the express, where the overhead bridge is now. If you headed south on that road, Kola was always a problem with huge potholes, abule-egba choke die around katangwa, the market was on the express at ile-epo, iyana-ipaja, and Egbeda..by the time you got to Cement you would dodging HUGE craters in the road...Ikeja along Traffic was insane, due to traffic backing up from PWD, and then the road practically ended at Bolade because that was where Oshodi market started from. On my way to School each morning, I used to listen to morning show on Raypower back then after Larry Izamoje's slot and at least one caller would call in to abuse OBJ because of that road...I really shouldnt have been able to listen because it ran during school hours, but I was ALWAYS late for school due to that stüpid road. That was an OBJ legacy though. That's the same road that took him to his farm from MMA 3 Likes 1 Share |

nihilistjnr: Through objs tenure lagos could do nothing about federal roads. It was so bad that Tinubu put up a sign at mazamaza - this road is the property of the federal gov't, please bear with us. Fortunately yardua did not carry on with Objs beef and the vision for that road has slowly and surely materialized since then. 2 Likes |

lol remember when I used to travel to Abuja by road in the early 2000s remember seeing 'This road belongs to FG' signs anytime we passed a horrible portion of the road in Oyo, Osun and Ondo. OBJ for all his economic acumen was terrible when it came to building lasting infrastructure except maybe the national stadium in Abuja. GloriousGbola: |

nihilistjnr: Even if you turned heading to OJu-Ore or the other way to Ijoko, it wasn't exactly good too. [/b] Even Kola when you veer off Lagos -Abeokuta road had no good roads. Roads were always flooded even though I admit the topography was a challenge. The inner city roads weren't good too. Did Tinubu do what he could do? Maybe. But was he the best as they hype him to be? No! Experience and facts don't lie. I also see how those defending him completely avoid talking about Oshodi, Mushin, Idumota etc even though these places were super-big markets and housed megastores but were filthy and unsafe. He let the grime fester. Now they try to pass off what Fashola did to clean up these place's as BAT's. You don't erase a man's legacy and arrogate it to another because he was/is a godson. |

disstroyy: Nah no doubt. The most noticeable improvements came during the Fashola years, but I want to caveat that by saying...the most noticeable improvements came on the Island, at a time when mainland population was exploding. At this point I was already in the UK, so can't speak with too much authority, but every time i came back the mainland seemed worse, but the Island seemed better and better. It's only in the Sanwo-Olu era I began to see improvements in Abule-Egba area with how they cleared up Pen-Cinems and I don't know who built the over head bridge at Oko-Oba Market Iju Road is now OK-ish, but Fagba around the railway crossing is still a horrific mess. Succesive APC Governments have quadrupled down on the divide between Island and Mainland with their blatant elitist gentrification policies. Mark my words, they are going to declare Lagoon/Lekki state in the not too distant future. 4 Likes 1 Share |

GloriousGbola: That bolded statement is not the flex you think it is.. First of all, buhari did much better than tinubu in terms of setting up a viable opposition. Buhari's CPC had more elected contingents than tinubu's ACN so you can't try to paint tinubu as the only factor in setting up viable opposition and helping Nigeria's democracy. Secondly it's almost laughable that while you praise the APC for being a viable party to nigeria's democracy, you make no mention of the quality of their leadership. Is that not the most important metric to use in judging them?? Yes they helped to strengthen Nigeria's democracy by being a choice but WHAT DID THEY DO WHEN GIVEN THE POWER?? Are they not complete failures in governance? Talk about that. 1 Like |

Bimffo:China and Russia don’t plan to censor anybody, if anything, they like to mind their business outside their borders, they seek business partners that are after mutual productive growth Censorship is very important, geopolitically in our world today, most nations attack other nations using PSYOP, nobody does it more than American government, strict censorship of freedom to limit such infiltration is very important, look at Americans cluelessly hyping Putin, I don’t think the Russians made a play for it but such infiltrations are very possible, it’s why the CIA succeeded in accomplishing so many coups American government actively censors and psychologically manipulates more 7billion people each day, they are just very subtle. The next 4 years would be monumental, most African leaders can read the room, the issue particularly when it comes to Africans is aesthetics most people have been breed to live the western way, they have used movies, songs, tv shows, msm and so many others even social media to mentally enslave billions around the world, far too many people are addicted to western culture, that would be the hardest part of the whole thing for Africans But people will adapt, even hell self, leave us there for a few months and the heat starts to feel warm, adaptability is our specialty, look at Nigerians cruising on the internet while their nation burns to the ground, in 100years there who be a billion Nigerians, and nobody is talking about the calamity in-front, they are still calling on Jesus in this century besides western culture has stagnated, agenda has taken over everything 1 Like |

Donjazet2: Buharis cpc that were perennial losers in elections? Buharis cpc that did not have a solid voting bloc? Buharis cpc that could not even package the man? Let us compare pictures from Buharis 2011 and 2015 campaigns - since you want to claim cpc was actually some sort of behemoth. But you are right about one thing - Who are the face of apc in govt today, if not the same cpc bedfellows aisha Buhari keeps complaining about? The ones who say keep quiet we were carrying your husband when he was broke, now it is our time? It should be clear to even you that Buhari is unfortunately brazenly tribalist and has basically doled out critical jobs to his kinsmen who have paper but not competence. Incidetallly, this is why all the lies you continue to make about supporting Osinbajo are obvious bs. Because he is far more a part of this admin than BAT is 2 Likes |

larride: Are you trying to say ACN was stronger than CPC?? Common man! Buhari that was winning 8 million votes on his own. Even after the merger, ACN has not delivered up to 4 million votes, I hope you know. But that's aside, the main issue is GOVERNANCE! How did these party govern when given the chance? Is it not the party that couldn't appoint it's ministers for half an entire year?? I ask again, how do we rate the performance of the APC which tinubu brought? What steps did tinubu take to rectify the misrule of the party which you are giving him credit for forming? 1 Like |

nihilistjnr: Does festac qualify as mainland? Because we are getting a link bridge to orile and oshodi expressway. I am very excited for this. This was part of the Lagos Badagry expressway project. Same thing is happening at third gate. An secondary express road is being built As to deveopmemt in the vi and beyond, it is more chaotic than anything else once you go beyond lekki phase 1. |

nihilistjnr: Fashola was very good. Any governor who could clean up Oshodi and Mushin deserves a third term (to think BAT was against BRF's second term). He didn't only clean it up but modernised it. After he left, everything went back to default. Now somoenone who gets it! It's why I don't question Lagos' FAAC allocation which is higher than all but one oil-producing state. It deserves it for many reasons. I also think Ambode had more lofty ideas for Lagos and was already execûting them than Sanwo-Olu but was lacking in the intra-politics of the state. You forgot to mention how Fashola tamed the Agberos and the excesses of the OPC. Until these people realise criticising Tinubu's poor governance of Lagos doesn't equate scoffing at the state itself, the better for them. 3 Likes |

Do you believe that Tinubu with his numerous handpicked henchmen have no influence on this country? To which I now ask you the next crucial question. What did tinubu do as he saw the country going to abyss? As he witnessed this government plunge us into not one but 2 economic recessions? What did tinubu do as he watched the country burn in flames with different violent sectors rising up? We've seen tinubu defend buhari several times? Show me his actions taken to combat the misrule of his own founded party. 2 Likes |

Ambode was the classic Nigerian governor obsessed with his own monuments The man effectively abandoned the Lagos Badagry expressway project for his entire administration. Before this the gej admin had been stylishly slowing it down, and we were all confident the project would be boosted after 2015. There were capex/forex issues with ccecc that could have been resolved but Ambode was not having that Ambode had previous beef with fashola and came in with an ax to grind. He gutted senior cadres of Lagos civil service, throwing away institutional knowledge and money lasg spent on foreign training As for visionscape - It is something you see as an engineer. The ceo goes abroad sees some phenomenon and decides we must do this at home without actually considering if the system can support it. Example adenuga saw some fancy ceiling mounted petrol pumps in Japan and had them brought to Nigeria. To this day they are ornaments. Every project involves stakeholder management. You may not see it, but rest assured it has happened. Ambode just thought he could bulldoze his way and forced an unproven untested idea If it ain't broke don't fix it. Lasg already had a working if imperfect refuse collection system. And The less one says about the oshodi monstrosity the better. That was a classic naija governor move. A meaningless monument to ego 1 Like |

ShaqFu: You are devious. You slyly avoided everything Nihilist stated about the inner city roads in Lagos and the filth, all corroborating what I have insisted on during Tinubu's time as Governor. Let's set the Lagos -Abeokuta road aside, why did you ignore others? There were several hundreds of roads in Lagos under him in disrepair. ------ I'd have asked why the Cotonou - Idi-Iroko road which is actually a trans-country road worked well under Gbenga Daniels who was Governor of Ogun during BAT's time but let's stick to the purview of the argument. ---- Joe, what about the other roads in Lagos, asides Lagos - Abeokuta during BÁT's time? What about the filth? About about the ethnic clashes due to OPC being unchecked? What about the insecurity? |
