First off, have you found out whether the card is acceptable on aliexpress? The best way to do that is to read comments from people who have succeeded in using the card for purchases on the platform.

Moreover, if you're using the card for the first time for purchase, do make use of the desktop version of aliexpress website and make your payment there.

Nothing confusing. You deposited $1 in your dollar account so you are spending that exact $1 dollar you deposited when you shop with your dollar card. It isn't a naira account you are spending from.

You don't need to be confused.
See it this way; you wanna pay your rent but no cash at hand.
Your landlord (AliExpress) only concern is that you pay his money(dollar) whether you collect from LAPO(aboki) or sokoloan(bank) that ain't his concern. He just needs his payment (dollar).

You do more work buying things here because of some of the following reasons:

1) The site is geared towards wholesalers, most sellers won't even deal with you if you are buying only 1 piece

2) Sellers won't ship for you, when they do the cost is usually super expensive when compared to AliExpress shipping cost.

3) You have to chat up the sellers to confirm the actually cost of items listed. Don't be surprised seeing an item listed for $70 is actually being sold one for $150. That $70 is the cost when you buy 5000 pieces or more.

4) Unless you know what you are doing, reviews at Alibaba is not as great as reviews at AliExpress, so an uninformed buyer may end up buying low quality items.


Now to the upsides, if you know your way around via doing your own personal shipping, verifying quality of items, negotiating with the sellers, etc you'll end up with a better deal than AliExpress. But often times you only get this deal when you buy at wholesale.

Since most buyers here only buy like in retail quantity, that may explain the lack of a thread for Alibaba shoppers.

But you can always start one. I'll follow.
