No. But he stated it on the sponsorship letter that he would be liable for funding me yearly with minimum of 7m and explained it on the letter that he has fulfilled his obligation this year by transferring the said amount into my account in two tranches and also included d date of the transaction so the VO could easily understand it while reviewing my statement and his own . |

Uzorsammy: No he didn’t present gift deed .. but the transaction was well explained on his sponsorship letter and even on my SOP. I’m thinking of paying the tuition deposit when I reapply |

I will suggest that the best way to tackle the issue is for your sponsor to pay in the money to your account and back it up with a gift deed and also present a personal bank account statement stating that he will pick up your total sponsorship because if he continues to present his business account where his the sole owner IRCC will see it that when u need money he may not release money to you if his business also needs the money same time because if you look at it the total business money is almost what you need for your tuition and upkeep |

Happy new year to everyone, I have been really busy with settling down in my new environment hence the lack of participation here, I know I have a duty to help out others on this journey seeing as this is the ideology on which this platform is built. That said, I will be available to answer questions from new nairalanders coming to Montreal QC. feel free to reach out. Disclaimer I am not a travel agent so I am not qualified to give visa or any related advice. But I can give tips on how to hit the ground running for things like house searching, job hunting, course registration, connecting you to a Nigerian community. emphasis on Montreal. Thanks and happy new year. 8 Likes |

Landing gist.... Everything from my admission to my arrival in Canada was my first attempt and I thank God for his grace. My flight departure time was 1:40pm, it was moved to 1:20pm and I didn't know till I arrived at the airport, thankfully I was there 4 hrs to the time. See crowd (people dey really comot naija o) the place be like island market, noisy, ridiculously small, hot and unorganized. Got in with fam members who came to see me off and firstly the scanner did not work for several minutes. When it finally worked/scanned my bags, I headed to the airline saying excuse me up n down so I could pass the crowd. Omo despite all my arrangements the bags were 30kg each instead of 23kg each, na there I begin bargain for the excess luggage and had to settle them before I was able to check-in the bags. From there to immigration and customs, they were very fast, I only submitted my passport/tickets and filled the yellow card. We left Lagos 40mins late cos everybody wan board at the same time, dem just dey shout *queue up, single line* but e no work. We sha boarded and damn those Ethiopian airline crew ladies fine sha. My first flight experience and first international flight, I just dey happy dey smile like cow. Food served was actually good just that dem wan use rice choke person. Lunch and dinner na rice every time throughout all the flights. Flight was good, got to Addis Ababa and mehn come see airport na, large, organized and finally people come queue. We did the usual scanning and routine search and joined the next flight after 2hrs layover. The descending flight at Dublin was the worst, my head wan explode, my belle just dey turning on ein own. It was as though we were falling instead of descending. After an hour of refueling we flew to Toronto from there. Flight to Toronto was good, we arrived and met the large beautiful airport. See crowd of first time students. I could count the blacks/Nigerians, the rest were Indians/Asians. We queued, did self declaration (arrive-can was useless) and In a few minutes we were issued our student permits (it's usually the entire duration of the visa/length of program). Got out of the airport to pick an Uber and it was as though I walked into a deep freezer lol, I immediately wore my winter jacket ontop of the sweater I was wearing, wore my hand gloves and I was fine. Canada is large and beautiful. Tarred roads, the express had like 10 lanes each. I was debited for the Uber ride immediately I booked unlike naija where you are billed after your ride. The driver Even stopped to buy fuel (in my mind if na naija now u fit stop dey buy fuel when my trip dey read?) If I could do this myself, I believe anyone can and I pray that everyone still praying and hoping on God will smile at the end. 73 Likes 4 Shares |

Congratulations once again! Happy new year! Pls I would like to ask.. 1. Were you asked any question at the POF? 2. When did you submit ur application? 3. How long did you wait for ur decision to be out? 4. Did you use the GC Key portal or the New Portal? 5. Is it a must to include siblings birth certificates and pictures on the GC key portal? 6. Will they reach out to my siblings via phone call or email to confirm if I'm there sibling? Even if none of them is my sponsor? johnstan: 1 Like |

mizchoco: *At immigrations in Canada I was only asked if I brought meat. I said no and I was handed my study permit. * I applied in July, was approved in Nov. * Used the new portal cos I did not want to fill those Pdf forms on the old Portal. * Non accompanying siblings/fam members are good home ties, ensure you upload anything linking you to them. (Pictures, birth certificates etc) * I can't tell if they will be contacted or not. Cheers. 3 Likes |

Landing Gist!!! To the glory of God, my fourth application was granted on the 30th of November after being refused 3 times and judicial review not granted. I eventually moved on the 29th of December and it was a smooth journey down here when I arrived on Thursday. My flight to Addis Ababa was 1:40pm but I was already in MMIA around 10am with my fam. Started the whole check-in processing, did the weight thing and my both luggages were a bit above 23kg but normal Naija level, we found a way to sort that out. I had a little difficulty getting my boarding pass at first because my return date exceeded my passport expiry date but it was eventually sorted out too. After having my boarding pass, I went back outside to take pictures with my family and it was an emotional moment but this is what we've all being praying for. I said my goodbye and went back to face the journey ahead of me. We eventually took off around 2pm, it was a cool 5 hours journey down to Addis Ababa. I landed there, had a layover of about an hour and the long journey began. We took off from Addis Ababa for about 8 hours on air and had a stopover for about an hour in Dublin for refueling. Then we took off again down to Toronto. I really enjoyed the flight, Ethiopian airlines cabin crew sabi take care of person. Those ladies are lovely and quite approachable. I chop, watch movie, press phone tire. Na whenever I happen to doze off dem go carry something come, the lovely lady beside go wake up say dem don bring food if I want or not. Lmao. I no want ke? Sleep go clear for my eyes and I go collect the food chop. Had rice, chicken, cake, bread, biscuit, drank juice, coffee, etc. The long flight down to Toronto was so sweet but omo, e far ooo. To the glory of God, I arrived in YYZ around 9am Toronto time. We alighted and I quickly went for the study permit stuff. Did a declaration, received my study permit without any questions from the officer. I only presented my Letter of Introduction (the front page) and my passport. I quickly dashed off to the luggage area. Naso I see my hand luggage first but my 2 major bags con become wahala but I eventually saw both bags. When I sighted the Indians gathering around on a queue one side I sharply asked what's it about and I was told it's for SIN. I waited for about an hour plus and got my SIN over there in the airport. My darling uncle was around to pick me up and from there we went to the store to get my SIM card/number too. We got home to his place in Milton and I was heartily received by my folks. Around evening, we went to the bank to open my account and I sorted that out too same day. Now I'm in my London, Ontario to begin my classes in Fanshawe college this week. RelaxingEnd and myself got an apartment together prior to coming here. Such a great guy. Omo, but why's no one talking about how tedious it is to get an accomodation? We eventually got a good offer and now our journey in Maple land is about to begin. May the Lord guide our steps in this new sojourn. I return all glory to God Almighty for making this Canadian dream successful for me because it wasn't an easy feat but with preseverance, patience, faith, encouragement and God's grace, it finally worked out in my favour. It's a new phase of life and in this new year and years to come in this new land shall be favourable to me. Ilu yi a san mi, a gbe mi lagbara Ase Edumare. A big Thank you to everyone because I can't seem to talk enough about how much information I got here. I wish everyone expecting a response a positive reply (PPR) and I wish those still gathering their documents the very best too. Everything go eventually make sense! 48 Likes 3 Shares |

Have a question for the house, Has anyone here used the NSE (Nigerian Student Express) visa application method? It’s a lot faster and apparently only extra document you need is IELTS. I still see a lot of students going through the regular visa application method. Is there a reason for this or has the NSE been discontinued? |

Happy new year everyone! OGs in this house, please come to my aid. In my last study permit application, I was refused visa due to unsatisfactory assets/insufficient funds for travel. Then I used mpower loan and a deposit of 3m gift deed from an Aunty who was also standing as my sponsor. This was in June. I'm about to apply again, with my sibling as my sponsor. He runs a business and the tuition fees and living expenses would take half of the balance in his account. Please, how do I put my best foot forward in this case. Suggestions from anyone on what and what I need to do/documents to present would be much appreciated. This would be my 4th trial. Same reason for refusal. After this I dnt think I'll be gingered to try again. @Gigdraft @frankrobbn1 @makano @bullstriker @ketima @lekiboboe @technix @Anon123 @JustMellow |

4th trial within what period? Have you ordered GCMS note? Based on your history with IRCC, it would be better to get the whole picture before suggesting ways to approach your application. Addressing the financial aspect does not mean that they will not refuse the application on another factor. However, I would recommend the following: Pay at least a semester of tuition fee Open a GIC account and transfer $10K if you can afford to Ensure the program is related to your present occupation Provide sufficient proof of relationship with the sponsor, e.g., pictures taken during family events, proof of communications, evidence of previous support, birth certificates, and highlight his name in any of your application and civil documents. It is possible to provide the necessary documents but fail to connect the dots when arranging an application. So, the importance of an excellent SOP cannot be overemphasized in your situation. Also, consider using professional assistance; there are Acts, Regulations and Case laws that can be used to argue your case. Iykevirgo: 4 Likes |

Biometrics cost $85 and $170 per person and family, respectively. Kids less than 14 years cannot do biometrics. I know IOM medical cost is based on the age range GloriaBekee: |
