Lexusgs430: Why are you like this? She's saying she can't afford 3 months rent upfront and you are advising her to get a money transfer card with 3 months interest free period and use that to pay for her rent ? So what happens after 3 months when she can't pay the outstanding balance on the credit card ? Is that not how people are sucked into debt? I come in peace. Happy new year bro |

tshoboy: That's the point I'm trying to make. Section 75 doesn't fix everything. My purchase was covered under section 75 but PayPal declined the claim |

Lexusgs430: Why are you like this I made the claim directly with PayPal. They contacted the retailer, did their "investigation" and came back to say the goods was delivered in perfect condition so my claim is declined |
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by Lexusgs430: 3:26pm On Jan 03, 2023 |
Ralphlauren: Compliments of the season........ I know you hate us mentioning credit cards ...... BUT..... If she got a CC with 90 days interest free period, the money she took from the CC, would be paid in full, in 3 month's.......... Credit card or not, she is still obligated to pay that 3 month's rent, so she simply pays the rent money, back on her credit card .......... Abi you have £2100 to loan her (interest free) ....... 6 Likes 1 Share |

Lexusgs430: I used PayPal credit which is supposed to give me the best of both worlds - section 75 and PayPal protection yet the claim was declined. The item cost about £1000 https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/PayPal-Section75/ I'm just making people aware that section 75 doesn't necessarily mean any claim you submit will be accepted by the credit card company. There's a process of back and forth involved which includes you contacting the retailer, the CC company contacting the retailer, and in some cases, the retailer can also contact you and your claim can still be declined. 1 Like

Any idea on what the interest rate would be if one decides to collect loan to buy a car. I understand it will be cheaper to get a loan and purchase the car than using car financing deals. I am currently seeing about 9% for the financing deals. Also, will such loans affect lenders' decision to approve mortgage? |

Phil46: Did 5 countries at once during the summer. Then 4 countries in September. Please note this was a personal choice though, as I am a travel lover. . I only made sure to use Germany as the country through which I applied for the Schengen visa, as I figured a German visa would carry more weight on my passport than Lithuania or Finland for example. Whichever country you apply through, you can visit all other countries (27 I think) in the Schengen zone. so I chose to go with Germany. However, you can do 1 or 2 countries, it's strictly a personal choice. Another thing is to ensure you still have plenty of time for your study remaining, as it will show you have ties here and will definitely come back to your studies. Yes I obtained a letter from the school. It's available on the student portal. 8 Likes 3 Shares |

Progressivegee: Thanks for your response. I just read your previous posts. I have found a company that is ready to sponsor me, can I get the sponsorship and apply for visa without my current employer having a knowledge of it. Or would the home office notify my current employer when I’m being assigned a new CoS. Notice of termination for my present job is 4 weeks which I intend to give when I apply for a new visa or when my visa is out. Can I send you a PM? 1 Like |

Good day everyone Please has anyone or someone knows who has applied for visit visa and hasn’t gotten their passport in like 2 months? Please what’s the step they took? My parents applied for visit visa and both went for biometric on 28/09/22. My dad got his passport delivered 30/10/22. I linked their application, as they were planning to come for holiday together But my mum hasn’t gotten hers, I have called and called and also emailed Tls. They keep saying I need to wait And whenever I call from uk they said decision has been made, called last week and said they have reescalated and I should call back this Friday. Has anyone been in this shoe before? |

Viruses: The rate you'll get will be largely dependent on your individual circumstances, but should be lower than what you'll get with car finance options. You can check with your bank to have an idea of what rate you can get, you can also use platforms like money supermarket, totallymoney, clearscore etc to compare rates. On your 2nd question, it will form part of your outgoings and it will be factored in when considering your affordability. 2 Likes |
