Tryhard: Hi, Been struggling with making payment all day, used all my naira cards already, yet no show. Any tip please? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 4:18pm On Jan 03, 2023 |
naaija: It won’t work if you use the Naira card. They have stopped intl transaction on the Naira debit card. An idea! Use any domicillary card maybe Euros, pounds, USD. Or if you don’t have it, you can download the chipper app from your respective AppStore and register with your BVN and use the virtual card. Please note you will be charged at black market rate if you are funding your USD virtual card from your naira wallet. And you can fund your Naira wallet from your bank account. Is that clear ? |

Please for the VFS E visa , can the address still be the High commission/consulate or should it be addressed to VFS? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Offsetdrip: 7:55pm On Jan 03, 2023 |
Gernny:Please do their visa take time for approval Please |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 8:34pm On Jan 03, 2023 |
Anniebam: VFS don’t give visa, so it’s either Consulate or High Commission! Which ever you deem fit. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Anniebam: 8:46pm On Jan 03, 2023 |
Tryhard: I thought the VFS e visa is decided at VFS by VFS . Does that mean if one has already applied for paper application but awaiting response, it isn’t advisable to go ahead with the VFS? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 10:34pm On Jan 03, 2023 |
Anniebam: Remember two different platforms. Two pathways to visa. You can go ahead with the E-visa even if you’ve applied for the sticker, but if the E-visa clicks, will the HC be fast enough to deliver your passport ? Because I heard it takes minimum of two weeks |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 10:37pm On Jan 03, 2023 |
Yinksman23: Yours is almost a year!!! Have you escalated the matter? You need to! I know someone that got refused two time and the last time he got the study visa all this in 2022. It was the last one that took time like 3-4 months to get a decision and he was granted. The previous ones was within 2 months. Something might be wrong with yours |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Yinksman23: 10:53pm On Jan 03, 2023 |
Please how do i escalate the situation at hand? I'm getting worried but i really don't know how to go about it since they don't reply emails. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Anniebam: 6:14am On Jan 04, 2023 |
Tryhard: I didn’t submit my passport. |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 8:21am On Jan 04, 2023 |
Yinksman23: 1. Call or send an email to your school and tell them that your passport is still with the HC for almost a year, that till date you haven’t received a decision and it’s quite worrisome. The university is suppose to liaise with them concerning that. 2. Visit VFS and request you want to see the senior Manager and tell them how important it is. These people have direct contact to the HC. Let them tell you what went wrong. 1 Like |

Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 12:38pm On Jan 04, 2023 |
H100: You’re welcome! Most likely if you don’t get any message about the state of your documents within 48-72hours , you’d most likely get the e-visa, because if they are problems with the document you’d be ask to Re-upload. Fingers crossed, follow up with VFS too. |

I have contacted my school on several occasions and they have sent notifications to HC. However, nothing has changed. I have also sent emails to HC with no response, another to VFS and the only response i get is that the application is still in process. I'm currently running out of ideas now because it's 10 months already with no update. In addition, i try to call vfs and HC but the numbers does not even connect. Please, do anyone have any valid phone numbers or emails that works for VFS and HC? Your contributions are highly appreciated. Thank you. |

Please if someone wants to invite me, what does the person need to submit? @tryhard, I will appreciate your WhatsApp number Also, do I need to upload the resident permit page of the person inviting me? |
Re: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by Tryhard: 11:07pm On Jan 04, 2023 |
Anniebam: 1. The person has to write a strong convincing letter, why he/she is inviting you and the letter must contain his/her phone number, email address, house address which must be in the same city you are visiting, if your flight reservation says Lagos to CapeTown, The address must be Capetown and not any other place. If it’s in Joburg, your flight reservation say. Then the house address must be in joburg. In the letter don’t put contradicting stuffs in it because they will definitely call your host and ask questions based on what is written in the letter and in your self-introduction letter as well. 2. The person must attach a certified copy of his passport biodata page and the visa legalizing him/her to stay in SA if not a citizen of RSA. If he/she is, the just a certified copy of the Biodata page of his/her SA ID 3. A very recent utility bills ( Electricity/Water) which shows the address written by the host in the letter. It must be clear & certified 4. This last one, I won’t say it is a must, but just to be on a safest side. Attach his 3 months recent bank statement (certified). Normally if the host says he’d cover all cost or he/she is your sponsor that is when you will attach the host bank statement with yours. But this days even if the host isn’t sponsoring and you still don’t attach the host bank statement you will get refused. So to be on the safest side just make sure you attach the bank statement with sufficient funds( Certified true copy) NB: Make sure the documents are clear and not blurry. Make sure no parts of the document is cut out. Have a copy of these documents when you are submitting |
