My advice is simple: Never permit the systems that grade you to limit you, go for mastery.
Take up a skill, learn something new and use your pain as fuel to push for mastery.

Never mind or no vex I have only heard that it is only in low rated schools that 'bright and hardworking students' end up with third class because they can not settle lecturers by buying handouts.

My message is obiously not for you but for those who are yet to miss out on admission opportunity in top schools which you perhaps think does not exist as a result of valuable time wasted here and on social media.

Any student who wastes time on nl and social media is making horrible choices. If such student end up in low rated schools, it is the horrible choices of the student that brought him or her in contact with such lazy and hungry corrupt lecturers that award good marks to those who settle them only.

imagine writing biology 102 for five good years because of a lecturer that promised to deal with me. At the end I still failed the biology 102 in my final year but it was waved because that was the only course I failed.

Again, my seminar and project supervisor was same person and he scored me 68 and 69 respectively on them so my CGPA was 2.36 after graduating. Just too much setbacks. It wasn't easy after graduation at all. Wherever I go they looked at me as a dull person. I worked with bet9ja, as a teacher, as a hotel attendant. Then God came to my rescue in 2018 when my state government lifted the employment embargo and asked all graduates to apply for a theory and CBT exams, I applied, wrote the theory and scored 89% then I qualified for the CBT and scored 82% so I got a government job in 2019 after graduating in 2014.
Though the civil service salary scheme is quite small but far much better than these private firms underpaid jobs. Through loans I've been able to established businesses (Laundry and Barbing shop), I work as an Agric services consultant and all that.
All the same, 3rd class is never ever ever a good thing, because it will make you feel inferior amongst highly intellectual personnels.

Soyinka didn't GRADUATE from Unibadan! He's a graduate of University of Leeds. I don't know his score though.

Don't be discouraged. First it's God. There's no story He can't turn around.

When I graduated with 3rd class, I knew nobody, had no connect, but each time I returned to God in prayers and cries for help, he connects me with people I never knew before the prayers and through them I have gotten series of quality jobs, each better than the previous. At a time I had over 3 jobs to choose from.

In Nigeria you need connections 80% of the time but for me, it has always come from God through men. I met a friend who was looking for a job too, we both went to meet someone who he knew could help us, the man didn't know me but knew my friend, that day I was taken and he wasn't.

Since then I have developed myself, have more certifications and qualifications but I can't tell you I did it myself or there's one uncle or the other. All I can say is anyone who sincerely call on Jesus, fervently and patiently, he will be answered.

The thing is.. Growing up, I always wanted to be a geek but dad wanted something else. He wanted me to become a medical doctor…

Unfortunately , I go admitted into Microbiology. You won’t believe I used to admire my guys in computer science and just go through their text books once once ..

Once I opened my Microbiology text books and saw those crappy bacteria and virus , all my body will start itching me..

I just could not read or study, going to the lab was a major turn off for me. Like it was mad ..

I just said this is not for me, I will manage and complete it, though very frustrating expecially seeing your life being ruined by parent.

I forgave him in 2012, because as I grew older I realized he wanted the best for me but in a wrong way.

So basically in the midst of suicidal thought, I started attending a Church when my life was done with. Not a deliverance ministry but a word-activated ministry where my mind was opened. My pastor said one thing that I will never forget ,” if you fail, take responsibility. Don’t blame people for your failure , otherwise you will always be miserable”

That was the quote that change my life forever. I felt the Pastor was just talking to me. I needed to make moves, and because of my moral upbringing , fraud or yahoo was not an option for me.

So I started life again , learned web design , learned graphics , learned small bit of programming before running away �..

Started blogging , started earning , then moved to e-commerce and all that..

It’s been a long journey and I won’t lie that it was easy. There were ups and down , but you know what? There is no witch that can stop a determined person.

At the end of the day, it’s not your certificate that makes you less. Nobody can actually make you inferior without your permission.

Allison does not offer any internationally recognised certificate. You only gain skills that can make you ace those certifications and make you internationally relevant.
You get a certificate of completion. No globally recognised certificate is free!!!
That said, you can learn a lot from MOOC and get some gigs too.....but let us not mix it up. Some companies are still old school and will still check those certifications and your certificate.
