There are many African, Nigeria working here in vietnam, keep searching and praying, you will surely jam one soon, just be ready and get your certificates notarized because if any opportunity comes, most of them will not give you time to be looking for way to gather your documents, they will just ask you to come immediately.....i Believe this happen when they did not see whites, and they don't have choice than to manage what they see......THE MARKET IS STILL SELLING HERE, JUST BE FOCUS AND NEVER GIVE-UP....AND ALSO REMEMBER ITS SO COMPETITIVE, GET ALL YOUR DOCUMENTS READY,.....ITS SIMPLE, GET JOB, AND SEND YOUR NOTARIZED DOCUMENT AND MOVE....AND CHANGE YOUR Financial Standard forever as you will be getting btw 1500 to 2500$ monthly depending of the company you work for! Jaebaifa1: Happy New Year Nairalanders! It's been a busy but fruitful 2022 and we thank God for that. Cheers to all the Nairalanders that made it into Vietnam in 2022, I know about 14 of them. Looking forward to 2023 and what it holds. Hopefully more people are able to make it out here. To the ones entering in January, the sky is your limit. Make una try post frequently to motivate others mbok. To clear this once and for all, it is extremely difficult to get a job in Vietnam from Nigeria. Chances are like 1% and here's why... It is cheaper to sponsor a White person into Vietnam. They already have a 30 or 60 day visa free entry and so would not cost up to 1000 usd to bring them in. On the other hand, it costs much more than that to sponsor someone with an African passport and no one is ready to spend that kind of money. Whites are already considered Native speakers and parents are attracted to schools with White teachers. So it's a no brainer. They'd rather bring in a cheap, liked White than an African Nigerians still have a reputation here. You get the drift bah? On the rare occasion that it happens and you do find someone willing to sponsor you...I've seen just one person in my 3 years for this waka...here's what happens.. They pay you way below market value. At first, it would seem like a win win cos you still earn more than in Naija. Then 2-3 months down the line, your eyes will clear and you'll become unhappy. They will overwork you. You basically do more hours ontop of low wages and they send you to different places. You don't have a say They'd most likely hold on to your passport or are on standby to blacklist you and withdraw their visa if you mess up or are not good.. Just thought to put this out there. Cheers 8 Likes 1 Share |

@ Whyna, Greetings, So what's the way forward to get into Vietnam and apply for jobs since we can't get one from here? |
Re: My Journey To Hanoi, Vietnam by WhyNa: 3:27pm On Jan 01, 2023 |
jasonclement: Please quote me.right. You can but it's a rare thing. You can try until you succeed. On the other hand, there are people who process the sponsorship. The dicey part is knowing who to trust. Most of them will open an umbrella company and seem all genuine until you get to Vietnam and then you get blacklisted and you won't know in most cases until it's time to renew your visa. Then you'll be sent home after being fined heavily. Others will scam you outrightly including your country man. Bottom line, do your research WELLA. Ask lots of questions, I mean lots of questions and pray. 3 Likes |

dlordy100: Okay ooo, weather is true or not, you can try it....all what I am saying here is what I know for sure because it happened to a close friend that we are here together, I don't say you cant work, but you will short-paid and also it's illegal to work without work permit, just pray you don't have problem with there immigration.....it's better to follow due process in everything so as to avoid troubles....since you said student can work as someone that have work permit.....well, I am hearing this for the first time....we learn every day.....the Vietnamese embassy website shall proof this right or wrong because I dont like argument online! |

Congrats on your win. I believe you're in Vietnam already. I'm interested in schooling (MSc.) in Vitenam. Since job sponsorship isn't coming forth, let me find my way via studies. I have tried my best applying for teaching jobs online. Let me now use study route. Way na way Based on your school, pls, can you give a break down the average total cost from admission application fee, tuition deposit, admission letter and visa application? Did your school provide all the documents needed for visa application in Abuja, like you didn't need any agent assistance in Vietnam? What is the name of your school? When is the next application window? Thanks vfxtobi: |

WhyNa:Thanks for the info. Please I need clarification answers to the following questions. 1. Are there free online tefl certification? If yes, do employers in vietnam accept them and if no, how much does it cost to get one. 2. Based on my question above. Do employers differentiate between an online and offline TEFL certificate and do they state it clear in their job ads. 3. I downloaded a British council app on playstore and it is free. I will like to know if this free certification is acceptable for a job in VT. 4. I have a B. Pharm degree and I am interested in the work route. Does a medical degree reduce or increase my chances of landing a teaching gig and will 2.5m be enough for the whole process till 2 months rent in VT? 5. Lastly, how can I contact you. My whatsapp number is 09.. . Looking forward to your reply. |

Kindly Buddies here. Got an Offer Last Wk Lecturing job and I’ve acknowledged the mail. Please do I still have to Notarize? and if Yes how do I go about it and how much will it cost as I’m currently Skint. And please Authentication and Notarization of Certs at Vietnam, are they thesame thing ? Certificates with me are BSc MSc and a student training Cert , and one other private firm training cert which I think it might not really be added to the docs to be notarized if I am asked to. And plus will they still ask for Police report/Certificate? I had one police report/Certificate I got 2018 but not sure if I can still use that. Getting Medical Cert this week. Also just now ran thru this EF SET online Eng Test to acquire the cert just now to avoid issues had only B1 Intermediate / 50points. Tho I’ve gotten this English official letter of proficiency from my first degree institution here. Guys guide me on what to do to get my self prepared as I’m expecting the mail soon to send My docs for Work permit processing and issuing as thats the info I received from the uni today to wait patiently as the international relatives office will contact me soon to send needed documents to them to issue me work permit. |

megatran: Target those Professors from there, but they will ask for this Ielts or Cambridge. But it’s a sure way. Though hiring directly offered pay will be low Maybe coz of Their expense of processing work permit and visa but all dsame na to move first within a twinkle of an eye, signed contract year go finish and next is to decide if one will continue with them. May God direct all our ways |

smartsolus:Sorry for the late reply, class and stuffs took my time, but we are on holiday now so i can squeeze time to reply . Budget around $2000 to 3000 And the Hercules task here is getting admission, school doesn’t reply mail, you still need someone here to help you.. And school will provide every document you needed to collect visa in Abuja, moreover they will have sent to the embassy before you go self. |

Let me update the house… It’s been a jolly ride since i came here, not all rossy but it’s been amazing as well, I decided to spent at least a month here before i can give my verdict or share experience so as to be close to been accurate.. PLEASE NOTE I WILL BE TALKING ABOUT MY SCHOOL AND MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE ONLY SO FAR! Vietnam is cheap to live in, you have to be open minded though , they can be very touchy , like they will want to touch your hair, snap with you and stuffs, one thing I have learnt so far is to always smile and be friendly as well. I have changed house twice and it has been easy… My school helped us find job with Samsung company, assembling plant, the pay is not much, but will pay your school fees in a month so do the math. I have made some friends and its been awesome.. And nigerians here are so amazing.. i give it to them 10 Likes 1 Share
