Goodevening all. Please I need clarity. Is it advisable to apply for Diploma admission (Canada) (2years) in a related field but not thesame course for someone who had Msc degree? Will there be an issue during Visa application after securing admission?

Also is securing Advanced diploma degree in a different field of study a safe landing for HND graduate ? Can there be issues during visa application?

PPR Alert and Timeline!!

I got my PPR on the 28th of November and promised to drop my timeline later, here it goes.
Profile;
Age - 21 years old
Highest level of Study - Media Communication Bsc.
Course of Study applied - Post Secondary Diploma in Interactive Media Design (2 years)
DLI - Fanshawe College, London Ontario.

My Timeline;
Sep 16th - Application submitted with Upfront Medicals

Sep 19th - Biometrics done
Oct 13th - Biometrics Updated
Nov 4th - Medicals Updated after sending countless emails and webforms to Nairobi only.
Nov 16th - I randomly checked after sending my daily dose of Webforms and Emails to Nairobi and saw Eligibility review has started.
Nov 23rd - BVL Dropped after sending mails to all the emails I could find on Nairaland and webforms to Nairobi.
Nov 28th - PPR Dropped again after sending countless mails to all the Emails I previously sent to and also webforms.
Dec 1st - Submitted my Passport at VFS Abuja (I just walked in with my passport and the Photocopy of my passport data page that they stuck a white paper on after my Biometrics and told me to expect a text when the passport is ready for pickup)
Dec 6th - Got a mail and a text that my passport had been stamped and was ready for pickup.
Dec 7th - Picked up the passport from VFS ( I can't even explain how beautiful it looks).

All Documents Submitted;
1) Application of study permit made outside Canada (imm1294e)
2) Letter of Acceptance
3) Scanned Copy of Passport Info Page
4) Proof of Funds (which includes Letter of Explanation of Funding Support, Letter of Financial Support and Affidavit from Sponsor, Scanned Copy of Sponsors ID, Sponsors 6-Months Bank Statement and Reference Letter from Bank, Sponsors insurance Certificates, Sponsors CAC certificate, Sponsors Contract Memos for her company, Sponsors property Documents (3 properties), Sponsors 6 months Payslips, Sponsors Appointment and Promotion Letters, Sponsors personal cars documents, My First Semester tuition payment Receipt)
5) My Digital Photo
6) Upfront E-Medical Information Sheet
7) Family Information (imm5645e)
cool Family Birth Certificate (4 siblings, 2 parents)
9) Parents Marriage Certificate
9) Application for a TRV made outside Canada (imm5257b)
10) Client Information (which includes SOP, Acceptance Letter from my PPA during NYSC year which ended in March, University Certificate, Transcript, WAEC Result, NYSC Certificate, Online Certificates related to my preferred course of study)
12) Different Pictures of myself and all my family members at my sister's wedding, my matriculation, my mother's convocation (Most of the pictures were of myself and my mom who is my sole sponsor).

I applied by myself with all the information I got from Nairaland and YouTube. All the sponsorship letters I wrote by myself, and just gave my mom to sign and scanned. I also paid my tuition with Form A even though it was a hassle, I disturbed FCMB with emails and calls for three months before it was finally disbursed. I lost my Dad a week before I applied, but I thought against including his death certificate so it doesn't affect the application. I don't know, but I feel the application was approved because it was backed with a lot of supporting documents to prove my sponsor is really established in Nigeria and can afford to fund my stay and schooling in Canada. I also wrote a very detailed SOP about why I was going to study for a post secondary diploma even though I had a Bsc which is higher and also in a totally different field, I explained the importance to my career growth and I also emphasized that after my studies I was going to come back to Naij and pursue a career and take care of my mom most importantly.

All these couldn't have been possible without God's intervention though, so I just suggest that we all involve God in all the processes as much as we can. This journey has really thought me to never underestimate the power of prayers.
I hope this helps somebody and I wish speedy approvals to everyone hopeful for a decision.

See y'all in Canada soon!!!!
Wow!
Congratulations!
I also got admitted to study interactive media design and I have a B.A in Performing arts, can you kindly share your SOP so I can use it as a guideline for mine? I’m clueless on how to link both courses together and explain why I’m going for a Post graduate diploma.

IRCC has temporary policies that allow international students to take programs online and still be eligible for PGWP. You can complete up to 50% of your course online, and it will be counted towards PGWP up until August 31, 2023. So, you can complete your first semester in Nigeria and arrive in Canada for the second semester. IRCC implemented these policies due to the impact of COVID-19 on international students and Canadian institutions.

Thank you very much boss.

Please is it possible to do the SOWP application for my spouse before i leave the country or must i have travelled before the application for my family can be done?

Good day everyone, I'm in a dilemma atm.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering with above 4.2 CGPA overall. I have about 5 years of work experience in the field of software engineering and intend to apply for a masters degree in computer science/Software engineering/Systems Engineering to a reputable school in Canada (Calgary, Alberta, UBC, Waterloo).

Right now I've been receiving conflicting information suggesting that with a Bachelors in MEE, I cannot get admission to study Systems/Software/Computer science as a masters degree in top Universities in Canada.

Does anyone have proof of this assertion being true?

Any first hand tale on whether this is possible or should I just abort mission?

Thanks and awaiting your helpful responses. smiley

Good day everyone. Is it advisable for a 28yr old Teacher with only NCE to apply for a Bsc ? Or will it be better to apply for a postgraduate diploma?

I believe you can. Although in my own case, my upfront medical was updated after 6 weeks of submitting application and my BVL and PPR dropped minutes later.

Since you have 5yrs experience in Software Engineering, i think you will easily get the admission. Just ensure your SOP is well drafted.

Good morning gurus in the house. Pls my question is, in a situation where the school does not require any initial deposit and one is being sponsored by the uncle who is financially buoyant to do so with millions in his account. Will not making any deposit affect her visa approval? What should be submitted in visa application?

Firstly, i want to believe the last two years of her transcript falls within the range of a 2.1
If this is the case, i would want you to consider Msc. However, if this isn't the case, a PGD might be appropriate. Find a course relating to language and explain your fascination with languages and how you intend to make use of them to show career progression in your SOP.

If you intend in using your husband and kids as proof of home ties, you might want to reconsider. Also, using your husband as sponsor means he should have a solid bank account as you now have 4 people's expenses (yours, his, and your 2 kids)

In all, i wish you best of luck!

Please I need help with Fanshawe college. The Graduate certificate programs usually read 1 year duration on a page and again 30/36 weeks duration on another page. Please for those who had secure admission what duration do you have on your admission letter? I am skeptical if these duration issues would not affect SOP/Visa application. Thank you for the help guys

.
What you need to do is get an updated Letter of acceptance from your school showing that you would be starting by September 2023. After getting the updated letter of acceptance all you have to do is inform IRCC by sending them your updated letter of acceptance via webform. When you later travel for September resumption , you won't have any problem at the port of entry as long as it's the same program and same school (DLI) as that in the first letter of acceptance.

Thank you very much...But on the letter of introduction...the validity is showing Sept 2023, does that matter?...please help

Good day gurus in the house

please Who can enlighten me on how those agency that help people build “Proof of Funds” at an interest rate per month work?

Secondly, how much would be atleast okay as POF for my sponsor considering the following:

The Tuition cost for 2years for my program is $43200 CAD and I have paid $10,375 CAD as deposit. One year living expenses is $10,000 CAD

I would appreciate all the advice.
