That is, if husband and wife agree not to have sex for 21 days during their fasting program, then it's perfectly in order. If they don't agree, such cannot hold, no matter what the pastor or any man says. I will disagree if any pastor is now forcing his members....no, no. Nothing is by force.

He has the right to advise his members how he feels they can do their fasting more effectively. I believe it's the same beginning of the year fasting program many churches do at the start of the year. There's no need in doing something one dsn't property understand, no be by force.

There is no law in the New Testament. Pastors should stop making laws. They can only counsel on what you ought to do and not put it as a law.

It is however wise to abstain from sex during fasting. But for a lengthy fast, it could be dangerous for some couples as everyone does not have the same level of self control.

As long as they break their fast at a certain time each day, they can also engage in sex after they break their fast if the urge comes. It's far better than to be tempted to commit adultery or fornication.

1. Scripture never said Jesus Christ planned and fasted for those 40 days. Instead, it is instead written that He was led away by the Spirit of God and ended up fasting for 40 days and 40 nights in pretty much the same way that Moses and Elisha did when they were both out in the wilderness with God - Exodus 34 vs 28 & 1 Kings 19 vs 7 - 14.

2. But Jesus Christ said those who belong to Him are those who obey His teachings and commandments - John 14 vs 15 - 20; His friends are those who do as He says - John 15 vs 14, so why are you bringing Paul in as the judge of that which is Jesus Christ? Why use Paul as a standard and not Jesus Christ?
