This is wrong reporting. When I saw that the second niger bridge had few users I knew the writer hasn't been in the East for a while.

On my way home and back. There was never a time I met or saw more than two cars on the second niger bridge.

Punch NG is just looking for an article to write. Sit-at-home exercise has been on in the East for nearly two years now.

Much as it has its effect on the region, people who live in Nigeria and vehicles that ply the East know that the region is locked down on Mondays. It has become a way of life.

How una Dey come with emergencies

If it happens on Monday morning like

Cardia arrest of a persons

Of a mother wanted to give birth

So their would be more casualties

Sick region

Can you imagine small boys locking up their parents under the bed by the order of one man in Finland. Bro, I haven't seen any people more cowardly. But these same people would stretch the muscles in their foreheads if Lagos Government lock up their shops for being dirty and unhygienic.
I love Buhari, he's a bad niggar, you can't be killing our security personnels and still expect me send them to you to protect you from your ipob terrorists. Even if he sends Army over there, they'd still accuse him of genocide.. Omo, these folks are impossible, never seen their kind ever. The only possible solution is Peter Obi asking his footsoilders to stop the atrocities but I doubt he has the balls.

Nice one dude!
That Finland guy is just playing mind games on them. The foolishness on an average black man is in the mind. That is why white race will always play the game on blacks by making us feel they are better than us cos of the weak minds. How can one man be giving order from Finland while enjoying himself and you that you are suffering yourself, claiming you are obeying orders? That is 13th wonders of the World...... foolishness!! I know some persons will call it leadership buy it's actually LEARDERFOOL.

GOD bless Nigeria!

This people are killing their economic gradually at the end of the day they will start running to others people state and later begin to claim they develop the place.
What stop this people to develop their own place they won't answer.
This is the same mistake South South make with militancy. Kidnapping oil companies workers, kidnapping the white expert and the companies start relocating their head office to Lagos and today Lagos house majority of the oils company. They pay task to Lagos government but nothing is happening in Niger Delta that have the oil.
When after effect comes now they will start shout marginalization.

Probably, the writer is a homeless inhabitant of yet to be identified planet. Consequently, I would not be astounded.

I paid a visit to Owerri, the metropolis of Imo State. Monday dawned with an uncertainty. However, the program that took me to the state must go on.

As early as possible, vehicular movement was ample to cast doubts over my sad sense of uncertainty and gloom.

I came out, and everywhere was on Monday just as it was the previous days. I was amazed.

I witnessed the usual hussle and buzzle of a city as economic activities remained the same. When inquired, I was told that banks also operate on Mondays, but they usually open around 9 or 10 am.

This is not to say that imo State is safe. It is only my own experience as a visitor as well as an eyewitness.

Those in all parts of the country should endeavor to give the real situation of issues in their places of residence.

Travellers across the South-East states who were returning to their various destinations after the Yuletide celebration were on Monday stranded and unable to make return journeys as the roads and motor parks were deserted because of the Monday sit-at-home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra.

Most of them who had wanted to embark on their return journey had to sit back, thereby postponing their travels to Tuesday as economic and commercial activities did not hold.

Our correspondent who visited the major cities of Onitsha, Nnewi, Ekwulobia and some parts of Awka, in Anambra State, observed that markets, motor parks, petrol stations, banks and offices remained shut. Schools did not also open for academic activities.

The Second Niger Bridge which had witnessed an appreciable increase in vehicular movements on a daily basis, since the opening of the lane for Westbound traffic, was also quiet as motorists avoided the place.

The ever-bubbling Onitsha motor parks and environs remained quiet and devoid of activities which the area is noted for.

A traveller, identified as Chioma Daniel, who came to Onitsha park, hoping to get a vehicle to Lagos, expressed surprise that there were no vehicles available at the parks.

Daniel said, “Our people started sitting at home again at the beginning of 2023. I did not know that this sit-at-home is serious like this. I came to the park hoping to get a vehicle going to Lagos as work has resumed, but the parks are under lock and key. I will have to go home and come back tomorrow.

“This is absolutely senseless, our people should realise that this is a destructive exercise that is causing economic hardship to us. It does not do the region any good. Inasmuch as the state government had pleaded that people should ignore the sit-at-home, they have refused to listen.”

Also reacting on the development, which seemed to worsen on Monday, the National President of a human rights group, Human Dignity Restoration Association, Rev. Jude Achebe, said sit-at-home has become an ill wind that blows nobody any good, which has to be stopped immediately.

Achebe decried the hardship and attack being meted out to innocent indigenes and non-indigenes, lamenting that criminals have capitalised on the situation to maim, assault, and rob.

He called for an election of a President that will listen to the cries of the Igbo and other agitators from other tribes in the coming general election for peaceful co-existence.

The rights advocate stressed the need for synergy between the government security operatives and the people to help beef up security with a view to tackling the sit-at-home.

“Our people are not happy and because we are grieved, that is why we agitate, why must we shoot ourselves by this sit-at-home that causes economic hardship to us,” he said.

Any person from southeast who chose to travel on Monday is redundant fool. The idea of self-determination should be paramount to any Igbo son or daughter. Why would the dumbass, called Chioma Daniel, not be stranded at the empty motor park. Any Igbo chap who wears English name as a surname suffers from inferior mentality. They are the dingbats not wanted in a civilized society such as Igbo.

The MONDAY SIT AT HOME is being done voluntarily by all in the South East as a show of solidarity to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The criminal in Finland has no say in the matter, he has tried countless times to replicate the order on other days and failed miserably.
