Check any thread where there's an argument pertaining Obi's obvious emergence as the president of Nigeria, it is always mostly between Igbos going against yorubas/hausas. Other regions are always silent and rarely come to the defense of the pro Obi Igbos

Now compare it to GEJ's era. Igbos also came all out for Jonathan, supported him both on and offline thereby making them enemies of yorubas/hausas.

Igbos were even more vocal and in the front line during Jonathan's era and took all the ferocious bullets and bullying meant for the Ijaws/SS/ Niger Delta.
Igbos did all these in the spirit of brotherhood and fair play.

Now an Igbo man is in the hot seat. Our Ijaw neighbours are near- silent. The battle has been left for the Igbos alone to fight.
Just a few SS are vocal enough in their support for Obi.

Let us all try to be our brother's keepers. We have a common enemy which is the APC

I think it is in the nature of Igbos to champion the case of the persecuted and defend the weak and defenceless. It usually gets them into trouble in Nigeria but they always persist instead of learning their lessons.
It may emnates from their culture that generally abhors injustice.

As far as i can tell their is widespread support for PO, not because of some political obligation for supporting GEJ but becuase he is the best candidate out of the roster of choices. Now if PO wants to completely corner the votes in nigeria i believe he should consult GEJ and talk about the 2014 National conference resolutions, the conference was a revolutionary step towards a better nigeria, if only GEJ was re-elected to see it through.

you have said it all. When Fulani herdsmen were on rampage in Benue only the Igbos were shouting, other tribes especially in the south kept quiet until it got to their doorstep.

Wetin concern South South with Igbos?
We are not brothers, stop the attachment and learn to be independent. After oppressing the southern minorities during the era of the Eastern Region you really expect sympathy from us?
The southern minorities have always felt more comfortable with Hausa/Fulani presidential candidates because we trust them more and we're voting PDP.

Most Nigerians, irrespective of tribe are supporting Peter Obi

Personally Im not cut out for all that tribalism stuff

My pastor spoke loud and clear that a sick country cannot be handed to a sick president.

Why should any sane person vote balabu because of tribe

If PYO was on the ballot, we would've considered but not gazelle gagaraga

But the same Igbos benefited from GEJ via appointments but they were no where to be found during his reelection and it is on record that people like Peter Obi absconded with monies meant to mobilize and campaign for GEJ in the zone which is easily verifiable with the voter apathy observed in the SE. Even some northern hawks told Tinubu and the SW not to take credit for Buhari's win and further stated that voter aparthy in the SE is what gave Buhari victory. Imagine no state in the SE gave GEJ up to a million votes while all but one state in the SS gave GEJ more than a million except Bayelsa which clocked 800k votes with Buhari wining Edo. If the SE had voted , rigged , cheated like they did in the north, GEJ would have closed the gap and might have won. Then there is the case of how virtually all SE PDP politicians and those appointed by GEJ dumped the party for the APC.

In short, you never gave as much support to GEJ.

Nairaland , Twitter and Facebook are not polling booths.

You are kinda right and wrong at thesame time...

Right in the sense that igbos stood up, supported and defended Jonathan despite all the insults....

You are wrong by saying SS are not also doing same for Peter Obi..

South South carry Peter Obi for head pass igbos forget what you see online...

Most people i have asked who they will vote for are from Northern Nigeria, though majority are Christians and they are all rooting for Peter Obi,,,

SE no too carry Peter Obi for head like other regions...

A lot of Igbos don't see the resolutions of the 2014 confab as going far enough. I expect Obi to go for total resource control.

Obi is currently talking about PRODUCTION FORMULAR. That could mean total resource control where the states are now expected to pay tax to the federal government on any natural resource that is mined or drilled from any state or any other production activity from that state
