Why weddings always hosted on saturdays (lets share our opinions)

Saturday is a not a week day.

More people tend to be free from their jobs on Saturdays so fixing a wedding on a Saturday makes sense since it can get many people the opportunity to attend the wedding.

It's because it's a day most people are off duty. Sunday is a worship day otherwise it would have been mostly Saturdays and Sundays.

Some happen on Fridays. When I lived outside the country, couples picked any convenient day of the week. Thursday for some reason was a favourite. Saturdays and Sundays were also used.

I know churches like Apostolic faith don't conduct weddings on Saturdays..
They conduct their weddings during the week.
I think it's a matter of choice for those that do conduct on Saturdays.

Let us answer the question in further details grin grin grin

Weddings are often held on Saturdays because it is considered to be the most convenient and popular day of the week for many people. There are several reasons why this is the case:

Convenience for guests: Many people have work or school during the week, so holding a wedding on a Saturday allows more guests to attend without having to take time off work or school.

Availability of vendors: Many wedding vendors, such as venues, caterers, and photographers, are more likely to have availability on Saturdays, making it easier to secure the services and vendors needed for the wedding.

Tradition: Historically, Saturday has been the traditional day for weddings in many cultures and countries, and it has become a norm over the time and many people follow it.

Logistics: In some cases, the logistics of planning and coordinating a wedding may be easier on a Saturday, as certain tasks such as setting up and breaking down decorations, or renting equipment, can be done more efficiently on a weekend day.

It's worth noting that while saturday is the most popular day for weddings, it is not the only day and many people choose to have their weddings on other days, such as friday, sunday or even weekdays. The choice of day depends on the preference of the couple and what works best for them and their guests.

I'm just gobsmacked by a very sophisticated AI technology invented, Chat Box...Logged unto nairaland to see the latest EPL scores and then stumbled upon mind boggling questions like this on front page.

Omo, Nigeria, Africa get very veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery long way to go....what?....with questions like this?

Like there are foolish questions that intrinsically are not foolish question because they lead to innovation......Like Isaac Newton seeing mango dropping off a tree and asking why di mango didn't go upward rather downward.....that question birth the discovery of gravitational force

Like the Wright Brothers...asking why ain't we flying objects or conveyors like the birds fly.....That "foolish thought" birth the aeroplanes

Now OP, abeg wetin this question wan give birth too rather than .....Some people for this part of the world innovative thinking be say Saturday Kerewa sure die grin grin

Why are elections, parties, examinations, etc. held on saturdays sef? Knowing fully well that there are some people who actually worship on saturday. For example, Seventh Day Adventists......
To make it balanced, let elections, exams, parties etc. be held on sundays too.
