We need to strengthen our labor laws tbh. The way some companies are moving mad is unexplainable.

Once companies start getting class action suit, maybe just maybe we will have some sanity back. Ditto for State Govt that refused to pay their workers their due wages.

Employees should be able to initiate class action suit against the govt.

What's nice about that please?

Below is one of the counts FG is charging him for.

FG further alleged that the IPOB leader had on diverse dates between 2018 and 2021, made broadcasts that were received and heard in Nigeria, inciting members of the public to hunt and kill Nigerian security personnel and their family members, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 1 (2) (h) of the Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act, 2013.

NL is not a court of law. A court of competent jurisdiction has discharged & acquitted MNK. You can go to the Supreme Court to appeal but you have to obey a standing court order.

The Labour laws are not the problem, it's the slow judicial process. Check the link below :

https://www.nairaland.com/365622/justice-t-last-supreme-court

Sacked lecturers got justice after being sacked 10 years before the final judgement. 3 of the sacked workers even died in the course of the 10 year legal battle. That is why u will see people rather focus on getting new jobs after being sacked unjustly than pursuing justice in a law court.

I'm currently dealing with one case like this. The company I work for hasn't paid us since Nov.

Infact the company hasn't resumed this year because we have all refused to work and demanding our unpaid salaries. Infact most of us have our resignation letter in hand, we just want them to pay and we resign.

The annoying part is that they are expanding their branches while owing salaries of most of their workforce.

The plan is to initiate a class action suit by the end of the month our salaries are not paid by then. Already on the look out for other opportunities. However long the lawsuit might be, better to test our laws against these private employers than just resign to fate.

You didn't answer my question. What's nice about what Soludo said?

NSC. National Security Council has not finalised his case yet.

Below is what Malami said through his Spoke Person.

For the avoidance of doubt and by the verdict of the Court, Kanu was only discharged and not acquitted. Consequently, the appropriate legal options before the authorities will be exploited and communicated accordingly to the public.

I will suggest u get a bigwig lawyer like dem Femi Falana or upcoming activists like Inibehen Effiong. They will probably not burden u with high retainers hip fees but expect to get something out of the Compenasation u will be awarded by the court.

Some of those companies are just plain evul and u will see their promoters spending millions over the weekend at parties and charity donations.

So maybe that's why some are now voting Tinubu. They believe Obi has a zero percent chance of winning which was just the same thing Obi's state governor said

You are falsely equating obi's candidacy with sowore's.

Show me any single poll that projected sowore as the winner. Show me any single street poll or online poll that had sowore in the lead.
Show me any high level endorsement sowore had Secured.

There are several different professional polls that maintain that Obi has the lead nationally. That he is the frontrunner, I'm talking professional data, numbers, facts.
Everything points to Obi leading. Sowore never had a quarter of what Obi has.

That's the plan.

We just want to give them the chance to do the reasonable thing before we drag them through the mud both on social media and through the court.

HR practically told us we should just manage and bear with them that it was the expansion and its infrastructural needs that's causing the salary delay. I havent heard tha kind of excuse before.

Probably, he's in agreement with the judgement of the appeal court. Talking about acquittal, e.t.c. Lets wait for Supreme Court to deliver her judgement.

HR is the deparment in an organization I dislike most. They will just keep doing window dressing for the organization as long as possible. Na only the management know wetin dey cause the delay and I'm sure it's beyond expansion/infrastructural needs

I actually do not believe what the HR said, we do have our own theory but we are just observing.

Our accountant was arrested in early December then sacked few weeks later. Something is definitely amiss but they are not forthcoming about it and whatever it is, he no suppose delay our own salaries.

Imagine go through the festive period hoping you will see alert but nothing came through.

It's possible that those expansion efforts have led to cash flow problems. It happens, however it is incumbent on the company to collect a loan to satisfy it's working capital requirements, of which salary payments should have the utmost priority. In Nigeria, it seems wages are the first to go when any company or entity is having cash flow problems, which speaks to weak employment choice, poor labour laws and impunity.

Yes and that's why I said we need better labor laws.it could've been another thing entirely if we were paid in November. The last salary we received was October.

They promised they will pay Nov and Dec salary before Christmas in the early weeks of Dec when Nov salary never show only to start telling us another thing entirely this year.
