2023 Presidential Election:A Sincere Advice To The Southeast by OLADD: 1:23pm On Jan 15, 2023 |
PART A: For every rational thinking Nigerian who believes in equity, justice and politics of inclusion, the imparativeness of an Igbo presidency at this delicate point in the annals of our nationhood cannot by any imagination be overemphasized. However, with unfolding scenarios in the polity, it is getting clearer by every passing day, the possibity of an elusive Igbo presidency in the next 16 years or even beyond if the region places all its eggs in a basket of Obi's presidential aspiration. For the benefit of hindsights, Obi just like the other 17 prominent Nigerians jostling for the coveted presidential seat is emminently qualified in numerious areas of personal atributes. Nonethless, unless many of us just want to behave like the proverbial ostrich, he and Labour Party cannot within a spate of a short time muster a formidable structure strong enough to wrestle power from the sitting APC govt. WHERE THEN LIES THE EASIEST PATH TO THE EMERGENCE OF A PRESIDENT OF SOUTHEAST EXTRACTION? 6 Likes 3 Shares |

PART B:Here now lies the one million naira question: will the southeast fall for the tempting carrot of pitching its tenth with the "govt at the center" by voting for APC in the next general election? The answer to this poser can best be imagined by any rational thinking nonpartisan Nigerian who truly shares in the ideology of Igbo ascention to political relevance. The victory of APC automatically shuts out the region from the scheme of any shot at the prencidency in the next 16 long years gabadaya! NOW THE MOST RATIONAL ADVICE: Take it or leave it, the PDP despite its shortcomings remains the most veritable ladder for the Region of the Rising Sun's clamour for power, and its best bet for confining the cry of maginalisation to perpetual obscurity. HOW DOES IT WORK? After the completion of Atiku's term, the presidency rotates to the southern part of the country thereby leaving the southeast justifiably in pole position to lay claim to the slot. I AM JUST TRYING TO MAKE SENSE. CC: npflmod, Mynd44 5 Likes 1 Share |

I don't understand the madness of asking a particular group of people not to contest for presidency. Isn't democracy all about the most eligible candidates for office throwing their hats in the ring anymore ? I mean we have a fulani man who's most likely to win this election after another fulani man has ruled us for eight years. We have a Yoruba man again after a Yoruba had served eight years as president and another served eight as vice. These so called advice to chill a bit sounds more like fear of that tribe and I'm talking to you as an Ijaw man. The only reason the political elite of the other major tribes don't want an igbo man to ever rule Nigeria is because they're afraid of him. He'll expose their criminality in governance all these years and open the eyes of the sheeple to the vast wealth Nigeria sits on. Do you know, there are places you'll go to with 500k capital and come back in three months then people will start calling you a ritualist because of the amount of money you've made ? Yet people in the locations I'm talking about live in the most abject poverty I've ever come across. Their governments will never allow them taste wealth or standard education because it'll shift the balance of power. When you're educated and you're not hungry, you'll ask the right questions 14 Likes |

ipobarecriminals:Same old trick that you have used on the efulefu Igbo politicians. When the time comes you will remember soludo oversaw the naira moving from 90 naira to 120 naira against the dollar , you will remember that he advocated for the release of nnamdi kanu, you will remember that there was insecurity in Anambra during his tenure as governor, you will remember that his father fought on the biafran side of the civil war. All these will then 'disqualify' him in the eyes of the hypocritical urchins. Rinse and repeat.... 10 Likes 1 Share |

Peter Obi must contest this election on behalf of South East. If he can satisfy the constitutional requirements to be elected president, so be it. If Atiku wins, the south west will work with the north in 8 years time to vote for another northerner. No one owes anyone anything. This is politics and it’s a game of numbers and interest. 9 Likes |

Oga if you wan beg beg...... which one is Obi cannot win? He cannot win yet he lives rent free in your olodo head. FYI Igbos don't need any stupid presidency. We just need good leadership and Obi can provide that. All the regions that have produced the president, what did their people gain? All of them go there to serve their selfish purposes. If the so called Igbo presidency entails the likes of Rochas, Orji Uzor, Nnamani or Soludo winning, it should catch fire and burn to ashes. Yes I said that..... 3 Likes |

mrvitalis:The reason why the north still qualifies to occuy the position after the exit of Buhari is because they have only ruled for merely 10 years out of 23 in this dispensation. The region does not have any choice other than to relingqish the slot aftter Atiku's tenure. 1 Like 1 Share |
