I understand to a large extent what the other poster is saying with capitalism and profit maximization

That's why many companies like Apple Google Microsoft Samsung etc the major beacon bearers for capitalism moved most of their production to China and Asia where they can exploit cheap sometimes underage labor and terrible working conditions that wouldn't stand scrutiny of any western nation

If in Nigeria and other developing nations we have to abide by the western nation standards like environmental protection, standard working conditions , wages to match the west. Then our people won't be able to afford it

Where I differ is you refusing to pay for work already done. That is fraud

The west learnt the hard lessons of the dangers of outsourcing during covid19.

A nation where workers are underpaid will not develop. An Economy is driven by purchasing power.

This is why the Obj years were the best years and also why Buhari is a disaster.

Obj understood an economy grows when your wallet is empowered. All Buhari and the average Northerner know is give out meagre handouts.

This is the same thing the Indians and Lebanese do. You will waste years of your life for peanuts.

There is nothing to celebrate in employers committed to keeping their workers in poverty

The Chinese and Lebanese, when they underpay workers are moving all the profits to develope their own countries

50% of something is better than 100% of nothing. There are stages to development except you have the resources and the right market for it. There is the agreeable stage, negotiation phase, then the confrontation stage.

FFK is such a nuisance, I can't begin to imagine the sort of things that goes through his mind when he's alone with himself. Clearly a very brilliant chap but he's totally bereft of any sort of values, making himself a nuisance to everybody.

We're a month away from the elections and we are yet to see a presidential debate between the candidates because one person doesn't feel accountable to the people he intends to lead.

cheesy
Can Nigerians in the Diaspora vote? Is there a provision in the law for it? Or they are as usual just forming activity, transparency?

Let Nigerians abroad tune in to watch NTA Channel 5, online or whatever, why travel all the way there?
Oh they expect them to return back home after listening to their manifesto?

Why uncle Biden no go Aso Rock go give speech to the amelikans in Nigeria or in Africa in general?

It's just a political gimmick jez to spice up politicking. I think it was started by APC in 2014, stand to be corrected though.

I’ve not had time to watch Obi’s Chatham house speech , but mehn this clip I saw online hits different !

The man gives a kinda hope that wants to make u believe in a working Nigeria this one last time .

Man said fighting corruption is not hard ; if u are not involved , if ur wife and families are not involved , then u already have 50% chance of fighting corruption . We’ve seen how families and associates of Buhari have been enmeshed in corruption charges and we’ve seen how his so called corruption war has fared .

Do you sincerely think obi a Nigerian businessman was not involved in corruption? We had that belief about Buhari precisely because unlike all the other ex military administrators he was not chairman of any board etc.

That is extremely empty talk from a man
who had family shares in Anambra state brewery
Who hid his money via pandora
Who made money off importing.
Who tried to do cash based purchases as state governor.

I’m not mentally ready for this revisionist back and forth on Obi’s alleged corruption this morning . I’m not even in the mood to discuss anyting Buhari this early in the week, his failure can be contagious .

As guy whose job involves accounting do you actually believe a Nigerian billionaire within this environment is not corrupt? What is the purpose of Pandora if not to hide your money? And what is corruption and transparency?

If I want to play the game Tinubu supporters play with his health ( when they say there’s no evidence to suggest he has health issues because he has been going all over the country to campaign ; despite seeing his obvious signs of serious impairment ) , I can as well tell u there’s no accounting records that suggest he’s corrupt or else he would’ve been charged for corruption .

But then I won’t do that . I’m not just ready to have a repeated conversation about things that have been trashed over and over again in the public and media space . I will pass .
