I will have loved to recommend my company but for the sake of picking the best fit for your needs Can you give a brief summary of what needs to be powered so that you can get contribution from experienced hands before settling for your choice Installations are never with static design and sometimes requires unique design to fit your exact needs for desired result. fizzyf4: 1 Like |

Ideal solution will be 500VA Indian Inverter 30A PWM solar charge controller 100Ah lead acid or lithium battery 150W x 2 solar panel A fair price can be used to have it constructed. i am sure many others can chip in their ideas to help you out. longyemi: |

Bro if you can safely remove the diode that's faulty, check the info e.g. IN368 - Google search it and download the pdf file. Them head to your local hardware store and buy equivalent diode that fits the voltage and current curve of the present diode. you should be good..... also better to snap the diode before removing to ensure that your replacing it back to the original position. earthrealm: @ bolded. Don't worry ńa, Sodium battery and/or Na-Li (Sodium-Lithium) battery will soon join the fray in the nearest future. Then the talk go enter gear 2. There is joy in having many choices, is the good thing here. 1 Like |

henro4niger: Why not go for the 1.5kw 12v hybrid inverter with 80amps charging current, can take 2kw panel capacity, Voc 500volts and can also charge lithium battery., |

olopan: Thanks a lot for your response, it will go a long way. Just a side note, I have day light load, a 120watt inverter fridge, I want to run it from 10am to 3pm everyday. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Nobody: 10:38pm On Jan 16, 2023 |
earthrealm: Thanks bro, I don't like hybrid inverters because of the dependence of both charge controller and inverter functionality in one unit. If one spoil, I either replace both or take both for repair. However with separate units, if the charge controller develop fault, for example, I can take just that for repair or easily change it. |

House almost on the verge of biting the hybrid inverter bullet which comes with in built mppt charger. so no need to get separate mppt charger. however my question is do i need to get a separate battery equalizer added to the solar system (its a 48v AGM battery configuration) or is having the "all in one" hybrid inverter enough. |

AGM batteries don't require equalization only Tubular batteries does except it is those black external things for each battery you referring to here. mangolpupa: |

My experience with them hasn't been positive that justify their use, anyway those were the older version. My experience is just minute compare to others with good results. So I won't air it, others can share their experiences with it. FYI "it's the external black thingy" mangolpupa: |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by earthrealm(m): 6:53am On Jan 17, 2023 |
henro4niger: Thats a bit outdated thinking, y not look at it this way----- you would always need a back up unit as well incase any of them goes bad. For hybrid, u just need a backup hybrid. For standalones ..so u will also buy a backup Cc and a back up inverter again anyway, stick to what makes you comfortable |

Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ojeysky(m): 9:36am On Jan 17, 2023 |
henro4niger: So buy the hybrid inverter and buy external charge controller....the cc in the inverter then serves as backup incase your external cc goes bad. Cost of inverter is usually not too far from hybrid |

I need to recycle my dead haustrom battery. Any idea? |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by earthrealm(m): 10:10am On Jan 17, 2023 |
nnadychuks: pointless saying the battery manufacturer without highlighting the battery chemistry. if its leadacid battery, agm/flooded/vrla etc simply sell to the scrap people. they pay you and send it to the people who will recycle it |

I need help here please. I use a Growatt SPF 5000 ES, Connected to 16s DIY LFP cells And 16s 200a ANT BMS At first, I set my charging voltage to 3.6 X 16 = 57.6v, float voltage to 3.5 X 16 = 56.0v, but after so much information gathering here and there, I settled for 56.0v as charging voltage and 55.2v as float voltage. But irrespective of the times I made the changes above, I am always having problems with the BMS. Sometimes it charges to 90% and stops charging, other times 38%, 68%, but if I reset the BMS, it will continue charging and eventually reach 100%. This is now beginning to happen on daily basis, but before I go ahead and change the BMS to JBD, I want to be sure what could wrong please? I have sold the system to a client after few months use and I am beginning to look like a bad man now, energy initiates come to my rescue abeg |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Valto(m): 11:18am On Jan 17, 2023 |
viperVIP:56v a little bit too high, set the charging voltage to bulk 55.2v or 54.4v float 54v or 54.2v |
