Everyone think well before writing.
Thanks. excuses to fail! How e be government! Tahir hotels and suits a labasene owned hotel with 400 rooms started as a guest house. Always full booked due to top service. So Nigeria govt stop you from building your own hotel or supermarket and only approve for labasene. How about oasis bakery. 1 Like |

I'm a real life example of the possibilities for immigrants in Anglo-nations. I know the probabilities for people my age in Nigeria. For example, the life expectancy of an average man in Nigeria is less than 60 years. You have to be alive first to spend money.
I live in the USA. I have friends and acquaintances who've been cooks, janitors or taxi drivers for over 20 years. They own good homes with 24hr running water & electricity. Go to their houses and you will see 4 or 5 cars parked there because ALL their teenage children each has a car. It's safe to say such jobs can't get such a living standard in Nigeria.
Nigeria is a poverty stricken country. I hope things get better there, but lying about it will not change reality.

No sir, it's racist barriers imposed by Nigerians in favor of foreigners. It's normal Nigerian mentality and you know it. Nigerians respect light skinned foreigners and place them above the interests of their fellow Nigerians. That's why SKIN BLEACHING is so popular in Nigeria.
Again, I started out as a cook in the USA. Even as a cook I lived a better life than junior doctors and bankers. In Nigeria there you're serving foreigners that can kill you at any time and nothing will happen. It's in the news all the time.
As I've written before, I have more social, political and economic rights as an Igbo man in the USA than in Nigeria. That's fact. You don't know this because like most Nigerians, you're IGNORANT of the laws of your country.
For example, you probably don't know that you can't own land in Nigeria. You THINK you own land, but you don't. That's the LEGAL REALITY, at any time your State Governor can take what you THINK is your land. You get CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY, in the USA here I get a perpetual TITLE OF DEED.
My children have a higher likelihood of becoming President of the United States than any Igbo has of becoming President of Nigeria.
Sit down a moment and think critically of what Nigeria is and what it means. You're still in darkness. You will learn
Are your children natural born citizen of the states ?? |

And you think there is no reason behind that? Why will the rich in Nigeria spend and settle their children abroad despite their wealth in Nigeria? If even the rich in Nigeria settle their children abroad, go for medicals, vacation etc, abroad. Why should you advise the poor and the middle class to remain in Nigeria?
Is there something you are not really getting? Do you think driving a bullet proof vehicle of N150m with 15 MOPOL, with 2 standby generator working 24/7 in your house is being rich, while your children cannot even live with you but are living in Cyprus in a 2 bedroom house with 24/7 electricity, one small Toyota none bullet proof car with no police escort whatsoever?
Please think deep and wide. You're the one who should think deep and wide. One example of rich man does not apply to all. There are rich people whose kids live here in Nigeria. |

Is that a life to envy? Never! Ten million naira? That's actually a very small amount of money. Running a business in Nigeria is extremely difficult. Yo write like a todler. Can barely understand biyams: When u japa, before finally settling down over 35% of your money will be gone, after you settle more percentage will go for tax and services, here someone can humanly help u there your money will humanly help u ..good part is when you get a job.. unlike Nigeria u can't set a business easily there, it depends on where you're going to Sha, but you'll need alot of paperwork, you'll eat what you can afford not what you want and that's just to save cash as it's coming in....good thing about going out there is you can run online jobs easily (depending on the country you're japparing to). If you're someone who could play piano or musical instrument, you have an upper hand more than someone with a degree there...here your 10million can decide to follow our economy or our wahala, either way there's still a way out, anything you see someone doing for long that u know as a business like selling palmoil for instance, or any non perishable edible stuffs, ask them how business is going, they'll say they're running at loss but they'll always be running the business which means there's a thin line between their sincerity and hidden business secret as it is one of the ethics of trading, think about why people who say they're not seeing profits and still going for the business.... there's something, find that something.....you'll realize that something is profit, now multiply it with 1/4 of your 10million .....see for your self is japa worth it or that "something" is worth it... |

Many people don't have belief in themselves as much as they don't have belief in the system/economy. Many people put more than 10 million naira as individuals into ponzi schemes against warnings and advices, believing that they were "investing". You begin to wonder how did they make that amount in the first place. 10 million naira can get you start as a distributor for some products and you will never regret your decision. I went into transport business with two mini buses close to five years ago, I know how many I have today. That was after two years of fear before I finally got the courage to start. |

When I moved back to Nigeria, I had occasion to discuss this business. Yes, there's money in it, but it's not like it has fantastic margins. I'm from Nkwerre, Imo State I have family friends in the palm oil business. They own trees and have what you might call a vertically integrated operation. I can assure you they're not making out like Dangote. In any case many of those farmers, their children are migrating to Europe and the USA. There must be a reason.
Anyway to each his own. It's funny that anyone thinks ₦10 million bestows good odds for business success in Nigeria. Hmmm. Well, good luck to the OP. You've read the all the advice from anonymous strangers, good luck whatever you choose.
I didn't want to call the state on purpose (classified info, I want to be paid for it and the state is not going to be listed here), this same state is where someone bought normal rice for 5-7k and that same bag is selling 18K this month! Another state around there is where you see basket of tomato - N300! same basket would reach N2500 at a particular point of you. Let me drop one of the states, then tell you a story - one of my friends who stayed in Adamawa to school in the university, use to go to Taraba/Benue and pack onions to sell in Kano - and his gains were humongous! It was so good that every year there's that season you don't see him. Its the same benue, someone was making money from buying bushmeat at N200-N300 and selling at over N1200. Or should I talk about charcoal making in Oyo and transporting it to Ondo or Edo. Some states have excess of a particular crop or product, its the transportation out that increases the prices and then the middle men, adding their own gain after buying it at a ridiculous price. |
