Should I Quit My Job To Pursue More Education ? by temitope66(m): 10:01pm On Jan 17, 2023
I am in my mid 20's, I do things solely on my own financially. I work in a company with a take home monthly pay of 70k and at the same time I'm running a part time program for my National Diploma, I'm in my ND2 now.
So I planned to quite my job by December and process a direct entry into a Federal University to get a BSc, I planned to save enough money to pay my bills during the course of schooling and I can still work during vacation as I am highly skilled in the field, the skill is highly sort for all over the country. But I'm confused on either to still keep my Job and further my Education when I make enough money and have a business of my own.
Please I need advice.

Is it possible to do the job and go to school at the same time? undecided...

If it is, I advice you consider that option. Cause letting go of your source of livelihood is not a decision that should be taken lightly undecided...

And also, consider going to open university for your BSc., It could help you kill two birds with one stone undecided...

Good luck!

Yes it is possible, that is what I do currently, I work and school, I'm just considering going to a university but then I won't be able to work except during vacation, as it would be full time.

Unless you have a very solid plan, giving up your source of livelihood is one decision you should carefully consider before making it undecided...

Well...
If you're really interested in working and pursing your BSc. simultaneously, maybe you should consider going to National Open University in Nigeria undecided...

Just check out their website and see how far...

Either ways...
Seems to me your decision is tilting towards quiting your job for school, if that's the case, then it's fine too undecided....

You know your abilities better than I do and if you think you can make this work, then by all means go for it!

Good luck chief!

Don't make that silly mistake of quiting your job to further education. Do both together.

Many B.sc even MSc holders can't boast of 70k monthly in this present Nigeria.

Please continue both. God will see you through!

Education is all about money now and If you are not from a rich or influential family no need of going to higher institutions in nigeria except you want to frustrate your destiny.
Continue working while doing your part time.

I was once in your shoe.. A production supervisor in a British owned company with many potentials, I left that to pursue my HND programme (because of intimidation from colleagues).. I felt HND instead of DE will be faster so I will be back in the system in no time but Nigeria happened to me, got my Kpali after four years.

In short, that will have been the dumbest move in my life but The Creator came to my aid and bless my skills...

If you have a good background and connection you can easily rely on... go for the DE else look for pt programme and stick to your job..

There is no permanent routine in life, life can be very surprising

Your BSc is important, but I would advise you keep your job and also run your education at the same time. Nigeria is a place where you require funds to survive.

Keep your job and school. Consider Long distance learning . A highly sought after skill will fetch more than 70K pm.

What skill do you have? What course do you want to study? Is the skill and the course related?
Re: Should I Quit My Job To Pursue More Education ? by Bankowner: 5:13pm On Jan 19, 2023
The Nigeria of today requires that you have money at every point in time.

Consider enrolling in the National Open University, that gives you flexibility and more options to work as well as study.

I don't know NOUN accepts ND for direct entry so you only have to do this for 3 years. Also consider that your work experience during the period will be a stepping stone when you get your degree and saves you the stress of looking for a job.

Going into school full-time scammer will help you enjoy school more if you can survive while schooling full-time then go for full_time before you know it 4 years don come go is not actually 4 years but 3 years plus

Good luck!
