What are you talking about? Put tribalism aside. It is unprecedented in the history of the oil producing country like Nigeria, that we would have fuel scarcity for over a year... If you have prove that 'my brothers' are holding on to fuel, may be you could help the Minister of Petroleum identify and persecute them (it is 16+ months overdue).

Basically if you want to see an end to queues, then simply remove subsidy, allow the market set their prices, and let people bring in petrol at any price they want to, without government giving them dollars.

But the thing that scares Nigerians is the price increases...and there are going to be a lot of price increases. Lord knows that the extent of price increases scares me.

But there is no other way. We can pretend fuel is cheap...and keep on having scarcity because the losses made selling fuel don't make it worth it, or we can face reality, remove subsides, pay high prices for some months, and then watch as things stabilize.

But Nigerians do not want subsidy removal...and that includes Buhari supporters, non Buhari supporters, and even neutrals. The suffering would be too much. And it is understandable. But then again keeping subsidy means we suffer another way, which we won;t like.

It has to get worse before it gets better.
