Good day elders. Please is there a phone number to call or an email to ask for updates from UKVI on UK spousal visa application made inside the UK? I applied in November to switch to spousal visa based on my wife's citizenship, and my previous biometrics was used, while I was sent an email to upload supporting documents. However, I have not gotten any decision or request for more documentation. Gov.uk states a processing time of 8 weeks since I applied inside the country, which is already past, and there's no specific number to contact. I'm also shocked that some parents feel comfortable leaving their children in the care of someone who might be brewing great resentment knowing that they are being underpaid and taken advantage of. Minimum wage is based on gross salary not benefits in kind.

Imagine your company did end of year party, took note of the food and drink each person took and deduct the money for the food and drink from your salary at the end of the month claiming it's part of your total package. This is very similar to your thought of deducting accommodation, feeding etc.

He ended up in the stairwell with his 3 young children and wife for 12 hours and this was during last week’s freezing temperatures. He is a student at Strathclyde university and is in the process of claiming asylum for ‘torture’ which I find a bit odd. He is a PhD holder and lead researcher for some project. They’ve now been put up in a hotel by a charity in Glasgow pending being re-homed by the Council. The guy is in the news to raise awareness about systemic maltreatment of asylum seekers.

Good evening everyone, please I just got a job offer from one of the NHS trust as an administrator but I’m still a student and it is a full time offer, I have seen people say here that NHS does not sponsor band 3 so I know asking for sponsorship is out of it.

Please I would like to know my options if any asides rejecting the role, if there’s also anyone that got an nhs job while still a student please I’ll like to hear from your experience on how you navigated it. I also put it in my application that I’m a student so this is quite confusing for me.

I understand where you are coming from since you are providing accommodation and feeding.
But will the person be able to cook and eat what they like and as much as they like - as they would if they are paying for thier own food?
Will they be able to use the accommodation as they would do in a shared accommodation?
Is there a guarantee that once the shift is over, the person is not obliged to lift a finger to help or assist you?
Will you pay their pension and NI?
How many days holiday are they entitled to?
Any sick pay?


My opinion: It is a very risky venture. If you find the wrong person, they can make false allegations against you to get a payout and the law will likely side with them because I suspect you will not tick all the legal boxes required to properly execute this. It may be better to get a family member over to help.

My friend did something like this but it was more like babysitting a child in exchange for rent, Few weeks later the landlady and mother expected her to clean their house, provide companionship and chat with her etc and started complaining about every little thing.


My advise is please avoid this arrangement because you’re definitely going to do more than a nanny and the poster will feel like they’re doing you a favour + heap unrealistic expectations on you.

For your own sanity and peace, avoid this because you’ll work and do more than everything the OP is offering

You may be better off taking a domestic flight to the nearest airport in your North Yorkshire location or perhaps a train from one of the mainline stations (kings Cross, Euston etc). Use google maps to find out the fastest way to get to your destination from heathrow.

Fact that you're proudly analyzing this is even more shameful. I hope you heed to earlier advice and abort mission before you lose those kids to the government and still be persecuted for modern day slavery. Why not pay the 'full time' nanny the right renumeration and charge a stipend for accomodation (commensurate with prices in the area) if they accept to live onsite. We all know your analysis including 8hr work days are a lie as you sound like someone who will request the nanny to double as a cook, gardener and cleaner. And all of this while working 14hr days with no vacation days, pension or bonus.

This is not Nigeria, change your ways.
