[quote author=geekseventplace post=120333947]Hello friends,

I am looking for an immigrant in UK who is ready to take a job as a full time nanny for my two kids. Accomodation, feeding, utilites, internet, phone bills will be all taken care of. Monthly pay is 300-400£ depending on a few other details.
The lady/woman should be less than 50 yrs and already residing in the UK.
Location is Basildon in Essex.

£400/month? Even with all the “perks” I this isn’t a good deal.

Not sure people without right to work will take that amount. This is the amount that was being paid to them 6-10 years ago. It is not even 1 child but 2 children, ahn ahn!!! sad

You know! £300 for 2 children full time is modern day slavery! Exploitation like this really annoys me, it's so unfair and immoral.
Less than 50 years indeed...

£3,600 per year.

cheesy

There's a reason she specified 'immigrant'. So she can exploit someone who has little or no recourse.

This is below minimum wage and grossly inadequate for a full time nanny position ( notwithstanding accommodation being included in the "package", unless you're looking to take advantage of/exploit a migrant who doesn't have the right to work. You should pay people fairly for the work they do - especially those who care for your children. This isn't Nigeria

Of course, that's her target market. Those without right to work or those here as visitors.

When the report them to police for modern day slavery, exploitation etc and use their likes as a pathway to attain permanent residency, they will come online crying wolf and say their village people is against them.

With all the "wokeness" and "open eye" in the world today, I'm shocked that anyone will be looking to exploit people in such manner when just a simple phone call to the police or a walk to the police station from the "employee" can ruin the "employer"

Good day elders. Please is there a phone number to call or an email to ask for updates from UKVI on UK spousal visa application made inside the UK? I applied in November to switch to spousal visa based on my wife's citizenship, and my previous biometrics was used, while I was sent an email to upload supporting documents. However, I have not gotten any decision or request for more documentation. Gov.uk states a processing time of 8 weeks since I applied inside the country, which is already past, and there's no specific number to contact. The one I called was saying something about the Ukraine scheme taking time and decision times for other visa applications being affected. I don't know how else to get in touch for updates.

Nicely put...hopefully OP will read the articles and change tact

I'm also shocked that some parents feel comfortable leaving their children in the care of someone who might be brewing great resentment knowing that they are being underpaid and taken advantage of. Even parents sometimes lose patience, especially with young children. What if the "immigrant nanny" harms or neglects the children out of frustration?

The total package is surely above minimum wage and i will explain.
As a full time nanny (7-days a week), maxiumum you can work is 8hrs/day and with minumum wage of 10£/hr gives you 2400£/month before tax and 1900£ after taxes. Accomodation & all utilities averagely 900£, feeding,Wifi Internet/mobile and other household expenses is averagely 600£. Hence if i pay extra 400£, i am matching the minimum wage already. Mind you, i didnt include cost of transportation, etc that would be saved when working a full time nanny.

Comot for here with your rubbish breakdown. You are trying to exploit people and you are justifying the rubbish by adding a breakdown of the cost they'll be saving. You think this is Nigeria, continue advertising nonsense like this here and you'll enter hot water.

Minimum wage is based on gross salary not benefits in kind.

Imagine your company did end of year party, took note of the food and drink each person took and deduct the money for the food and drink from your salary at the end of the month claiming it's part of your total package. This is very similar to your thought of deducting accommodation, feeding etc.

Ok good luck with this.

In other news, I’ve just seen on BBC Scotland news a Nigerian guy called Henry Okwo who was chucked out of his house in Glasgow last week. He ended up in the stairwell with his 3 young children and wife for 12 hours and this was during last week’s freezing temperatures. He is a student at Strathclyde university and is in the process of claiming asylum for ‘torture’ which I find a bit odd. He is a PhD holder and lead researcher for some project. They’ve now been put up in a hotel by a charity in Glasgow pending being re-homed by the Council. The guy is in the news to raise awareness about systemic maltreatment of asylum seekers.

Good evening everyone, please I just got a job offer from one of the NHS trust as an administrator but I’m still a student and it is a full time offer, I have seen people say here that NHS does not sponsor band 3 so I know asking for sponsorship is out of it.

Please I would like to know my options if any asides rejecting the role, if there’s also anyone that got an nhs job while still a student please I’ll like to hear from your experience on how you navigated it. I also put it in my application that I’m a student so this is quite confusing for me.

I would really appreciate advise and opinion please

Please someone should help me with information pls

I understand where you are coming from since you are providing accommodation and feeding.
But will the person be able to cook and eat what they like and as much as they like - as they would if they are paying for thier own food?
Will they be able to use the accommodation as they would do in a shared accommodation?
Is there a guarantee that once the shift is over, the person is not obliged to lift a finger to help or assist you?
Will you pay their pension and NI?
How many days holiday are they entitled to?
Any sick pay?

My opinion: It is a very risky venture. If you find the wrong person, they can make false allegations against you to get a payout and the law will likely side with them because I suspect you will not tick all the legal boxes required to properly execute this. It may be better to get a family member over to help.

My friend did something like this but it was more like babysitting a child in exchange for rent, Few weeks later the landlady and mother expected her to clean their house, provide companionship and chat with her etc and started complaining about every little thing.

My advise is please avoid this arrangement because you’re definitely going to do more than a nanny and the poster will feel like they’re doing you a favour + heap unrealistic expectations on you.

For your own sanity and peace, avoid this because you’ll work and do more than everything the OP is offering

Good day senior citizen, please I will be arriving UK on the 30 of January with my family by God grace, and we have plenty luggage, we have our short rent at North Yorkshire and we shall be landing at Heathrow airport,is there a mode of transportation which can be more easier to train, please your suggestion is highly recommended.

You may be better off taking a domestic flight to the nearest airport in your North Yorkshire location or perhaps a train from one of the mainline stations (kings Cross, Euston etc). Use google maps to find out the fastest way to get to your destination from heathrow.

I have two job offers and I've accepted both, I have no restrictions as to how many hours I can work. One is hybrid and the other one is fully remote but I'm just wondering if it's ethically sound to do so. Is there anyone who has held two full time jobs, how did you go about navigating both of them? Or make I just forget one of them. I dey confused make I no lie.

Possible but check to see how much tax you will be charged as it may not be worth it...unless the second job is off the record..

Fact that you're proudly analyzing this is even more shameful. I hope you heed to earlier advice and abort mission before you lose those kids to the government and still be persecuted for modern day slavery. This is NOT Nigeria where 'majority of us' enjoy taking advantage of the seemingly less privileged in the name of 'house maid/nanny'.

Please do better with conscience 😩

Your tone indicates you willingly want to exploit people and I hope no one entertains this insulting offer.

Why not pay the 'full time' nanny the right renumeration and charge a stipend for accomodation (commensurate with prices in the area) if they accept to live onsite. We all know your analysis including 8hr work days are a lie as you sound like someone who will request the nanny to double as a cook, gardener and cleaner. And all of this while working 14hr days with no vacation days, pension or bonus.

This is not Nigeria, change your ways.

You know this is not an au pair program, looks like you just learned the phrase. Your search for the so called superior analysis is just an excuse to not listen. Several people have told you that what you are looking to do is wrong and you are insistent on making a case for your exploitative quest. Like I said earlier, continue with this and you'll enter hot water. Kwasia

Then go and meet the agencies that offer au pairs. Why come here to post on nairaland or twitter?

Let's see which agency that will give you au pair from nigeria or any european country for £400 a month to take care of 2 kids. Even those importing women from Philippines and Thailand to do nanny work in Nigeria don't earn such low wages.

Actually, I know of an NHS in Northern Ireland that gives 3 months free Accomodation to their international registered nurses/doctors. Aside that, they also feed them daily when they are on shift. I mean full squared meal o. So your analysis holds no water.

Maybe he owed rent or the landlord wanted to sell up or breakdown of relationship between him and the agent/landlord.

I'm just surprised he was evicted with the current ban on evictions in Scotland.

There must be more to the story.

Anyways, over 14k raised for him, so his format is clearly working grin

He's extremely lucky that social services were not called to take his kids away from him. Leaving those kids including a baby in sub zero temperates, at the back of a van, in a stairway . . . He's extremely, extremely lucky!

The do same for health care assistants. It's quite a popular arrangement with the NHS trusts in NI.
