IT IS A LIE. NIGERIA'S LITERACY RATE IS OVER 75%, SO HOW THE HELL CAN ONLY LESS THAN 25% OF KIDS BE ABLE TO READ? UNESCO IDIOTS. ONE FOOL THERE WILL SIT IN AMERICA ON HIS COMPUTER AND TYPE UP ANY STUPID, NASTY, FAKE STATISTIC FROM HIS ANUS, JUST TO GET MORE FUNDING. 149 Likes 8 Shares |

Of this percentage, the north is comfortably making up the numbers.. 7 to 14 means they barely had basic education from 16 Likes 2 Shares |

Napata77: Did you read where it gave a certain age range from 7 to 14? Go to the North and you'll understand. So the "fool" in America who sits on his computer and type fake stats to get more funding but U didn't mention that the funding he gets is still channelled back into the country by way of Unesco funded projects. There is a country director on ground in every country and they get their figures from information their home country feeds them. So if anyone is making fake stats up it is Nigeria politicians who in turn loot the funds. I've seen UNESCO branded books, school bags and other educational materials being sold in the market 81 Likes 5 Shares |

Mostly the north... Northern governors have to prioritize basic education. Not everything is about religion. Let children go to school and stop breeding a generation that can be brainwashed to go into criminal activities. 51 Likes 2 Shares |

This is indeed very sad. I'm not sure if the figure is up to 75% . Sadly I don't havr statistics too. We do not prioritise education in this country so what do we expect 12 Likes 1 Share |

Nigeria needs to introduce a new Vocational based education system specifically designed to take care of street kids that the Education system has left behind where they can learn a Skill or Trade at the same time as learning to read and write Something like the Old Modern Schools from which they could gain Qualifications for entry into at least Polytechnics 7 Likes |

Napata77: Your 75% should be urban literacy level Dude!!! First off, not up to half the kids in northern Nigeria are literate. Add the illiterate kids from other regions. Ps how did you arrive at 75% literacy? I’m patriotic but truth be told, the child illiteracy level in the north is super high. 10 Likes |

Nigeria my country No wonder our able minister for education agreed that he failed in education. The pathetic part is about 60% of this population are from a particular region of this country. Anyway, how can they know how to write nor solve simple mathematics when Buhari government has made their parents so poor that they don't have money to enroll them in a good school or extramoral lesson. 1 Like |

Girls that have not finished primary school, you give them out to burutanshi addicts that cannot spell their names and my brother concluded that we Edo people hate them just because we are trying to say hey brother we stay in same house this habit is bad because what affects you affects me too. Yet you don't see northern elites who encourage them to do this shit doing same to their children. Tell me between El rufai, Atiku, kwankwaso and even the Emirs which of them allow their 12 year old daughter to enter the labour Ward? Northerners better wise up o!!! Because their breeding pattern is why statistics like this will continue to erupt. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Nigeria is a very big country. I am sure this data is very reliable. We cannot possibly live in denial and expect things to get better. We should be courageous enough to acknowledge our inadequacies and take steps to get better. Aside in fewer towns in most states, rural education is absolutely struggling even in the south. How many places have you been to, to know? There are several schools where students can’t even communicate in English, and in the south too. There are actually several communities, with out of school children. It’s lack of exposure, that makes some of us propel generalizations based on our immediate environment. Some don’t even know that there are several communities in the south, where they have to travel Kilometers before they can make calls. Travel a little bit outward and stop living in your bubble, in the towns , go from there inward, and you would find teachers who are barely literate and struggling to even read, in those schools. In the south too, just travel to communities with very large farm plantations and in the North, it’s total eclipse there. 4 Likes |

What were you expecting in a country that doesn't value education. Imagine politicians campaigning in a school that is so dilapidated and be sharing millions of naira for different wards yet no one talks about the poor state of the schhol. Tufiakwa!! 2 Likes |
