I've worked in Fintech for the last 4 years and I can tell you the main problems you face in Fintech are not technology-based but policy-based.

You are not permitted to make charges on customer cards without obtaining PCI-DSS compliance certification. Obtaining compliance is an expensive, troublesome and time-consuming endeavour so you are at the mercy of Payment Processors like Paystack and Flutterwave with regards to the features you can use and the ones you can't.

So, when planning, factor in the legal and compliance side of the feasibility studies very highly.

Sure.

Won't lie, this current tech job market is harsh on product people, especially starters. Been searching for junior product designer roles for a friend's brother but I only see internships. I will advise people working in product design to build a portfolio and chase freelancing. My younger brother is a UI/UX designer with many years of experience and he currently freelances (mostly because he dislikes company work)

I remember how many internal meetings we had at Paystack just hoping Meffy won't come up with something that will send us all home. So many brilliant product ideas have been shelved and archived because regulation around their implementation is murky and unclear.
