I noticed something about indrive lately;
If an order pops up and you as a driver who is closer to the rider pick it, the app will automatically accept it from the rider side.
I think this is what happens when we talk about fastest finger crabs. grin
Much respect, bosses.

Are you sure about this? What if I choose a fare higher than what the rider quoted?

As long as membership is voluntary, I am not bothered. Set up alternative apps to compete with uber, bolt and indrive they failed woefully but incompetent economic agents will always seek government favour or backing. They now intend to reap where they did not sow.

My father laid on you a heavy yoke; I will make it even heavier. My father scourged you with whips; I will scourge you with scorpions.’”
Regardless of whether membership is voluntary or compulsory, fact remain these apps can’t be allowed to run just as they like. There must be checks and balances just like we have in saner climes. It is only in Nigeria you have bolt/Uber and other useless apps lording over their drivers. Anyways this is about to change.

The benefits that comes with having a union cannot be overemphasized. NURTW drivers are known nationwide because of a strong union. You can’t mess with them. In the coming weeks/months bolt/Uber and other petty apps will be forced to come down from their oga at the top position and face reality. 💯

But I noticed it's the people that don't take this work serious or do it as a side hussle that carry this union thing on their head the most. Have u noticed that too? And why is that so??
One would have thought it's the guys that work 247 and probably have many years experience with lots of stake in the business that should be championing unionism.

Freedom of association is an inalienable right, as long as it is voluntary, no problem. The arm twisting model of NURTW may eventually come to play.
What is the point of a strong NURTW with all the dilapidated buses is that the kind of buses that obtains in saner climes. Oh I see strong union that allows drivers to break traffic laws and get away with it. Driving against traffic with no regards to pedestrians and even the safety of their passengers because they have a strong union.
Interplay of economic forces should be what should always count, I am a firm believer in a laissez-faire economic system.
When Bolt downgraded the year of car that can be registered it was in response to the fact that investors were not bringing in toks or naija 2003 cars on the platform, uber did not want to downgrade further but simply sought for institutional investors to meet the gap.
Unionism is not needed in a gig economy.
Relearn, Retool, Reskill yourself to take advantage of the gig economy ehailing is just a fraction of the over $500 billion industry.
More economic players that can rival uber, bolt, indrive and others is what is needed.
Competition is the best guarantor of drivers welfare not some nebulous union.
We dont need another MC-Oluomo of ehailing.

I have interacted with many union people and evidence that I have has shown that the front runners for this union thing aren't really stakeholders in the business...a little catchment of the people pressing for it on this thread is an example of what I am saying.

Now, Since 2017 how many elections have been conducted? Or u guys want to do like Robert Mugabe or Paul Biya?

Truth is those guys are more concerned for what they will benefit from being union leaders than actually having the stakeholders at heart.

I support Unionism offcourse, but only if the leadership are righteous people who are really one of us and not opportunists and people who will take advantage of the structure and enrich themselves.

If u r not one of them already, I will advice u to be wary of them. Cos at the end of the day they will impose payments on you, or have dedicated agbero that will be collecting money from ehailing drivers. And nothing will change as per the real agitations that we have.

Nope. You must accept the rider's fare.

Not that they don't know this but they are happy to be the Oluomo of ehailling industry. Who wouldn't want to sit and money will be raining into his bank account?
When u interact with these guys they are just full of bitterness and anger for the ehailing companies? Maybe because some of them have been blocked, rather than go and look for something else to do they are on a mission. For them, it's better Uber and Bolt folds up and go back to their country.

One would think if they so much want things to go well, they would have built their own app by now...put all the mega features, do marketing and and launch it free of commission and let it compete.

I remember Pocah.ontas(where that babe and iz.u sef?) once said she enter ride when the driver starch him shirt. She said guy was looking crisp and fresh...guy even made her honey till she got to destination. Now how about that!?
I dey order for bolt and when 'some' of these people show up, I dey always commend them.
I've had various drivers showed up in clean outfits and good looking.
In early December that I ordered bolt for my people 3 times: drivers were 2 females and 1 male.
One female showed up in very clean silver Camry sport ('10 - '11 type) omoh, I was tripping.
The second female showed up in a black Corolla (2010 type) tinted. Chai! Babe fresh with cool voice (this one had over 7k trips on her record) lipsrsealed
The male among them showed up in Camry (muscle 07-09 type), black and tinted.
All these people looked corporate and clean.
Though, they didn't wear shoes. grin
Omoh, I have planned to up my outfit game - though, I was never unimpressive. smiley
Being a driver no mean say you should look like one, dressings self dey make passengers judge/rate you. Some passengers self (mostly female) dey check and recheck you when your dressings self sweet pass their own. grin
Every Friday + Saturday+ Sunday, I dey try with my dressings. cool na shoes I no fit wear as Pope ask. grin
Much respect, boss.

How you jump into conclusions should be studied in havard. 😆 I doubt I’ve come across any post from anyone championing for unionism on this thread. Maybe I must have missed it because I rarely visit here. Too much lai Mohammed here.

😆Story. You don’t support any unionism bros. You’re actually more angry that your beloved bolt app is about to see real wahala.

Another conclusion without facts. Well, sorry I am not part of them. The news is all over social media and different news outlets.

PS: Majority of pilots myself included would willingly register provided all these apps excesses are checkmated. They can’t continue like this.

Thank you. That's another angle.
Sue the ehailling companies and demand proper benefits if u think that's what u deserve. But no they will not even engage them in meetings or campaigns.
It's the easiest and no brainer method they will prefer to use. No deep thinking, no research, zero engagements.

Rentals mean owner fix car right?

If you do 120k weekly and you give owner 30k, 25k on fuel, 12k for app. Then you should have like 50k to yourself.

The downside of this job is having a good car, but as good as your car may sound. After 2 years things may not be the same, that is if it gets up to 2 years. All the work I have been doing this Jan have been going to car. Lining and pot, socks... I still have engine sit to tackle. If you have a car and you have like 150k in your account that is making you to feel like you have one money somewhere grin car never show you shege.

How else do an ehailling driver want to look good. Shirt and Jeans with pams, AbI you want they knot tie and shoe. The hustle and sun burns one out. Just make your money and damn perception, you as a soul should decide what's important. One of the lessons I've learnt from this hustle is a beggar do have a choice.

True talk bro.

My car almost burnt down last week cause the abs module started burning, even with the car off and parked.

That is how i had to remove 90k to buy abs module, omo the tin pain me no be small.

God is in control sha, and I thank God that I was there when it was burning, and it did not start burning while I was sleeping cause I would have lost the whole car to fire.

However, it is still painful to have lost that money for useless abs that I don't even use.
