What are you criminals extending self?? Are you extending the deadline to enable you deposit your old notes or what exactly? Today marks the 95th day that CBN told you criminals to deposit your old notes. What else do you want?

Why is the CBN not sanctioning anybody for withholding it?

They and the HoA can put heads together, but they can't decide for the CBN and the president. 3months is more than enough for everybody to take their money to the banks. In any case, they still have today, Monday and Tuesday to do so.

It has to be done. Anything else na just CBN fooling themselves. You can't put the lives of 200 million people in a state of constant stress and anxiety just because of one man

Because the banks have complained that the cbn is not releasing the new notes to them.

The Buhari administration ruined Nigeria economy.

Emefiele is part of that administration, he is still a key member of the national economy elite team.

Emefiele has always been political in his monetary and fiscal policy choices. It’s such political pleasure that has made him create billionaire from the significant impairment of the value of Naira with other currencies. It’s also obviously for political reasons that this currency change issue is arising.

Not that, he has the interest of folks at heart.

Exactly ...it is a political decision that is hurting the masses

Can't they (the voters) be paid true transfer?

You all will just be yapping grin
You don't even know how it's done.

You think vote buying can stop?
They'll right their names down and be paid one after the other later

The actual reason for the change of currency is the reason there will be no extension. If they extend it then the aim of the currency change will be defeated. It is a selfish reason which is aimed at their fellow politicians not for people like me and you.
What's the reason the CBN give for the new notes?

Why will an extension not make it work?

There's scarcity of the notes all over Nigeria, the reasonable thing is to adjust the deadline

Their beloved thieves in politics waiting to buy the 2023 presidential election with wards of old Naira notes stolen from the public coffers.
That's Nigeria. A group strives to curb corrupt practices. Another group strives to encourage corrupt practices.

It is obvious, it is why they don’t want to collect and distribute the new notes, they might be receiving kick backs from hoarders of the old notes hence they need more time to receive more old notes/kick backs from our polithievcians

January 25 2023 is sacrosanct!!!
If NASS like they should "Go and Die"

Best option is for government to arrest these thieving bank executives, detain them until the election they want sold to their clients, the highest bidders, is concluded. Nobody can be watched to scuttle the objective of the currency redesign.

If CBN is sure within themselves that they distributed new notes and the banks failed to release them to the public, then they should fine the banks.

Ordinary citizens should not be used as the footstool for their tug of war.

Some banks in my area were not dispensing cash yesterday as they claim they don't have the new notes. The question is, has CBN distributed enough notes to aid easy compliance with their proposed deadline?

If they extend it they are very shameless and cowards. Tinubu is a great man and and a great thinker. Great men have purposes, others only have wishes.

A government of no coordination. A government where 5 days to the expiration of currency change, 90% of rural dwellers are yet to see the new notes. A government where the Minister of Finance briefed FEC that she was not briefed by CBN governor about Naira redesign and only got to know through media. A government where CBN governor escaped arrest by DSS and fled abroad and later converted it to Annual leave and overstayed because of DSS and Attorney General.

By January 31, 2023 if the CBN governor or the President extend the deadline for currency swap then they are bunch of cowards and failure. Only fools reason like mad men.

Tinubu is a very intelligent and courageous man. We stand by him and we are proud of him

All of you people shouting no extension, I hope you are aware that here in Lagos yesterday, ATMs haven't been dispensing cash because the banks don't have new notes.
I'm presently at GTB Town Planning Way now...the ATM hall is like Idumota market...ATMs aren't dispensing and you can't withdraw from inside the bank.

I hope all of you supporting the deadline and Emefiele can live without cash till after February 25th.

SMH!

The government have no choice, they must extend it or lose control of the economy to black market with people using old Naira for the exchange

If CBN delayed based on limited prints or whatever, it doesn't affect lodgement of money in the bank. The value of the money is the same once its paid into the owners account.
