Ahead of the March 11, 2023 governorship election, candidates in Lagos State discuss their plans for over 20 million state residents at ThePlatform, an event designed to facilitate growth in personal capacity, productivity and national development within Nigeria.

This debate is to determine who is most able to manage the 5th largest economy in Africa and will be moderated by Dr Victor Oladokun.

According to a list released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), leading parties with candidates in the state include the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Congress (APC), Action Democratic Party (ADP), Labour Party (LP) and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

Others are the Action Alliance (AA), Social Democratic Party (SDP), the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Boot Party (BP), the African Action Congress (AAC), Accord (A), Action People’s Party (APP), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), National Rescue Movement (NRM), Young Progressives Party (YPP) and People’s Redemption Party (PRP).

The list showed that only 16 of the 18 registered political parties fielded candidates.

The governorship candidates are Dickson Olaogun (A), Abdulrasaq Balogun (AA), Akeem Olayiwola (AAC), Olufunso Doherty( ADC), Bamidele Ishola (ADP), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (APC), Funmilayo Kupokiyi (APM), Abiola Adeyemi (APP) Olawale Oluwo (BP), Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (LP), Olanrewaju Jim-Kamal (NNPP), Braithwaite Ishola (NRM), Olajide Adediran (PDP), Taofeek Uthman (SDP), Wasiu Ajayi (YPP) and Adenipebi Mode-Adekunle (ZLP).

It is Ok for Jide, a one term governor to debate for a reelection but a man who has never been anything at the federal level wants to cat walk with his questionable mental state to Aso rock without any form of scrutiny.

Nigerians will never allow such.

Don't know why Sanwo-Olu is campaigning, in all honesty, the dude doesn't have any opposition.


He is like the Bayern Munich of Lagos Bundesliga in this forthcoming election.... PDP should do better if they want to ever win Lagos..

This extends to the government of the state because living in the state imbibed a culture.
