Yes you can.
But why both?
Just asking because undergrad is capital intensive

Thank you so much
True information is power

Have got questions

1) can I open 2 applications, for graduate and undergraduate
2) and if I do hope that won't hinder any form of consideration for admission

Are you ready?

You're competing with Indians, Asians, Pakistanis, and co.
People sometimes forget this.

You are in direct competition with these guys especially for top schools.

The University of Utah that he mentioned is not some random school. It's one of the top public institutions.

Honestly, I would love to contact someone who will guide me. Currently, I have convinced myself to accept the fate that us most likely I won't be getting any offer this fall anymore.

I'm more curious on what to do to improve my application and give it a shot again the next fall 2024.

Please anyone here to guide?

Base on the remaining schools, it's only God can do it, as it stand now, my only hope it's God, any other thing I'm out.
Contact EducationUSA. They have physical branches in Lagos and Abuja. You should also be able to reach them online.

I studied Mathematics and I would like to have a second degree in CS and if not then I'll go for Ms in CS

And again the one most likely for full funding

Any advice on the matter ?

One need to be strategic and realistic about grad school.

My small question is this:

is there anyone schooling in University of Georgia? I logged into my profile now, and saw that my application has been decided, but they are insisting on me to pay the application fee ($100) which has been pending.

Is there a way Someone can get information on the admission decision without paying going by the fact that the app fee is lot of money. I have already sent email to them today which hopefully they will reply by Monday or Tuesday.

Lastly, does it worth it paying for pending app fee for some pending schools by 3rd week of February? That is when I could raise money to pay for those schools (Ohio State, Purdue, and Oklahoma State )

Modified** (On 22nd February)

Finally canceled/deleted my application for Ohio State, sent an email to Oklahoma State to cancel my application due to inability to pay application fee, and lastly decided to attend the graduate information session/fair for Purdue.

As for University of Georgia, I honestly don't have that money, so would be ignoring the application. I would also cancel pending application for North Carolina State.

Most CS schools will accept you into computer science masters with mathematics background especially if you have relevant work experience. Alternatively you can consider cs adjacent programs like Software engineering, computer engineering, Artificial Intelligence etc depending on your interest.

You don't need to pay all the application fees, don't let all these schools use your money eat suya.

Exchange rate is high.

Seek app fee waiving schools.

I applied to 10 schools, I paid app fees for 2 schools, the other 8 waived it.

My little contribution is for you to put in applications to two more schools to make up for the ones lost already. Look towards state universities for now.

PhD admission and funding ain't beans, you gotta prepare hard and it's competitive as hell.

Are you ready?

You're competing with Indians, Asians, Pakistanis, and co.

To me, I'll say go to school that's unpopular. Not all US schools are the same in terms of pre-requisites.

Alot of Master's program I know funds their Student.

Some fund their Student after getting admission, while some, their own way is they automatically funds their admits.

There's no one straight way to grad school (Ms or PhD).

Look at your profile, and choose school accordingly.

Next time, shoot your shots to more MSc programs. Apply to at least 10 schools.

Make the grad Coordinator your paddy, ask them deep questions about opportunities in their program and email them regularly. That way, you'll remain in their mind when it comes to funding.

What’s so competitive about Indians, Pakistanis and other Asians? Some Africans are very competitive as are some Asians. People should be encouraged to apply where they want. Not everyone is looking to Japa.

If you didn’t pay the fee, how did they get the file to evaluate?

No offense, but I’m certain this is a rejection as graduate schools do not send incomplete files to the departments for review.

Anyhow sha, if $100 isn’t a lot of money to you, you should pay it.

I don seek for app waiver tire for these pending 3 universities. Only Purdue sent mail for me to register for graduate fair which will hold in March (already late to me. I would prefer to pay for them consider me for admission and funding under fast track than attend the event and lose out completely.

IOWA State showed me shege last Fall application despite scaling the initial review, and being told they will consider my application for next academic semester since there is no slot to admit me. Few weeks after fall semester started, they sent love letter ).

If you don't mind, can you drop the names of schools you applied to. Might have one or two of them I could apply to, and probably get app fee waiver like you.

Small tip
If you know very well in your heart that your funds will not be easy in coming from home please target Spring semester. So that you can make up during summer semester when the money comes from "home".

Thank you.

Bro, you're right. My profile is very very weak. I need to up my game now. I will try to gather all the other parts of my application, which are GRE, Even if is one publication, stronger SOP, if I have the funds I evaluate my transcript, then apply strategic; strategic I mean is, applying to schools in a region not to known, and also making sure I run away from those hat waive Application fee.

Most won’t review if you don’t pay the fee. Some don’t even allow you to submit without the fee. Hopefully you hear back from them soon.

I've been denied again! This is my second denial, one from Colorado State University, and the second one this early morning from the University of Utah. All Ph.D. programs, bioscience.

I lost interest in everything now. I am about to lose hope regarding the remaining applications. It's like my dream is about to be shattered,! I don't have masters, no GRE, no publication, no presentation.

Please room, what do I do? I just applied to only one school for masters, mean while the rest are Ph.D.

Take GRE cos it’s going to boost your chances for funding

Don’t bother with GRE. Literally 95% of bio science programs have done away with it.

You need a Killer SOP and evaluate your transcript as well if you have the means. Look for school waiving GRE. And fire back again.

There are still a lot of open opportunities for you. Apply to more schools. Using a 3rd party for US college application is way too early. Do it yourself and you’ll get seasoned by the experience.
Dont over-load God’s work.. God has given you brain, stamina and connect.. execute!! Good luck

Yeah,

I was navigating the website of the said school where I saw the information. It has not been processed because of the pending fee.

Damn, that is lots of money, but let me see how it goes.

Don't run from school waiving application fees, you need to save cost. Considering the exchange rate, just be competitive and apply early too.

Now you know what you are missing.
In some schools in Nigeria, you can't defend MSc without having a publication.
Be intentional and get your documents available before your next application.
