That's double digits anyway which is still decent.

If it's shameful as you put it how come Barnes, Daka and Perez that are better than KC have yet to score double digits in a league season despite enjoying ample playing time since their performances are something to be 'proud about'?

Uzoho Benched

He was on a 4 games cleansheet run but conceeded 2 in his last outing with Omonia in the league and today, their very next matchday, they send him to the bench for Fabiano, the Same GK who has benched Uzoho all through his bench period before he got his shirt back after the Man Utd Masterclass at Old Trafford. Let's hope this is temporary...but yeah, Uzoho back to the bench for today.

Watching Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton gives me joy and highlights how I want to see the Super Eagles play.

No matter the team you are meeting, play with bravery and intensity.

Tidy build up plays from the back. Gross and McAllister have been insane with their build up plays working with the defense and keeper.

Lamptey clearly the best player on the pitch. Been just insane.

If we play the modern way, it will be hard to make weak selections and pick players without fitting attributes.

I hope we get it right soon.

Some people are still talking out dated Rohr. May God deliver us from backward thinking ancestors.

You are in the Zone My Top Man GoodJoe. Why do you think I highly rate and have talked about RDZ (Roberto De Zerbi) Football a couple times on this thread? It is partly because of what you are currently witnessing them exhibit vs Liverpool.

And the thing is with the right personnel, replicating it isn't that hard.

De Zerbi's Positional play system is kinda similar to Pep's but not entirely all the way down to tactics but the central ideas are similar.

In De Zerbi's system, he goes for Defenders who know their defensive duties but are also quite comfortable on the ball in the first phase of buildup plays and midfielders who are comfortable both in the first and second phases of buildup plays. He also plays with a "find the free man" concept. At each buildup phase, when the ball moves vertically, there is always that one player who takes up a position behind the opposition player who leads the press against the current ball holder.

This free man isn't paid attention to because he doesn't have the ball yet but why he is vital is because he is the guy who stays free to receive the ball after 2 passes from the current ball holder to his nearest teammate who then finds this "free man" in space who in turn transits the next phase of play Vertically. So much I can say on this. Been studying the man's system.

In the Super Eagles, we need bonafide 1st and 2nd phase midfielders but we mostly just have 1st phase midfielders with limited technical quality in the ball and in the vertical angle of buildups.

It is possible but we only have to pick the right personnel and Fortunately enough, we actually have them.

P.S: Brighton have signed another midfield talent that suits the RDZ system. Yasin Ayari from AIK, Sweden. Just 19. Keep an eye on him too.

Victor Olatunji scores his first goal for new club Slovan Liberec in the Czech Liga. Recall he joined them this January from AEK Larnaca of Cyprus.

His team playing 1-1 currently vs Pardubice.

Another Naija lad, Abubakar Ghali is also in action from the start for Liberec.

In Turkey's TFF.1 Lig, Rio 2016 hero, Aminu Umar came off the bench and scored his first goal for new club Bodrumspor in a 2-1 away win over Adanaspor. It was Umar's 3rd game. He hasn't started any yet.

We should not take this badly. There is something wrong in Bassey's play. Not watched time pinpoint it but he is the scape goat in the backline.

Sometimes we need to take off our sunglasses and try using our spectacles.

De Zerbi's system is built on a fusion of Pep Guardiola and Marcelo Bielsa's system. I must say, he has fused them into something lethal.

However, his build up plays are insane. Watched some of his games at Sassuolo and was so impressed with his intensity.

That sharp intensity in the final phase of the plays is where we can excel. However, we must get our defensive and midfield set-up right. Also a manager with the right philosophy.

Roberto De Zerbi gave us a brilliant display today. The referee literally allowed Liverpool to go violent on them. Like we witnessed the referee blatantly write off three red card scenarios.

The Konate foul on MacAllister, Fabinho's studs to Ferguson's Achilles and Robertson's stamp on MacAllister. Yet, Brighton still finished them.

Mitoma is also brilliant and fun to watch. Who scouts these players.

Scouting is a big part of success in football.

Philosophy + Scouting = Genuine success.

Roberto De Zerbi

Don't forget the name.

'Has owned Klopp thrice this season already. Technically it is twice but that 3-3 was where it all began and I gave that tactical bout to RDZ.

Like I said before.... as seen below...

From... Jan.04

TheSuperNerd:
De Zerbi is one of the finest young Italian tacticians in football today. His Positional plays strategy with Brighton was always gonna be too much for Lampard. The result was painful but unsurprising. I saw a Brighton win coming.

In all, I hope Lampard, Iwobi and Everton survive the drop.

And from... October 1, 2022...

TheSuperNerd:
Omo... Roberto De Zerbi is already showing the EPL why exactly he is highly rated among Italian coaches.
Always liked his tactical set-ups and approaches while he was in Serie A with Sassuolo before he moved to Shahktar Donetsk.

What a debut he is having in the EPL. Knocking Liverpool for 2 already?? No Joy from this Man.

RDZ is up there among my favorite tactical managerial minds in the beautiful game today alongside Pep, Nagelsmann, Ancelotti, Sarri, Simone Inzaghi, Spalletti and even as recently as Mikel Arteta, since 2 yrs now. Xavi is also catching my eyes. I also have for a long time held huge respect for Mourinho and Klopp till now. I still look at their works.

See I cannot list them all. I have a list of my favourite tacticos in the game coz there is at least a concept I learn from each which can be brought together into a central idea of ideas to forge a truly unstoppable team.

It is beautiful to see beautiful football thrive. 🥰😍😎

Today was a show of shame from the referee in support of Liverpool. Even Elliot's goal should not have stood. That was a clear handball leading to a goal by Keita. Just shocking.

Lol... the Brighton scouting department is one of the most elite in England right now. Alexis McAllister & Moses Caicedo alone were brought in for less than 15Million euros combined but are now worth over 100Million euros combined.

Add to the fact that they also now how a top tactical mind (an upgrade on Graham Potter IMO), who is also a top talent identifier, then Brighton are cooking more stories if they keep it together

See this comment below... hahahahahaha🤣🤣🤣

Mitoma of Brighton and Khvicha of Napoli are two of the same winger profiles. Two-way dribblers who are also excellent ball strikers on top of their already high technical skillsets.

They can beat you on the inside, on the outside, dribble you on the spot, and still have the pace to play on the shoulder of the defenders when necessary.

Brilliant ballers. Mudryk gives off same vibes. And ofcos there is Saka.

Peter Olayinka picked up a brace of assists today after setting up 2 goals in Slavia Prague's 5-1 win over FK Jablonec in the Czech Liga.

He now has 5 goals, 2 assists in 10 league games (9 starts).

11 goals, 4 assists across all competitions in 23 games.

Igoh Ogbu didn't come off the bench for his official debut. Will wait till next Matchday.

Joshua Akpudje played all 90 for Jablonec.
